Prison Yard work ain’t easy but the coffee’s good

FNGs: None

Warm Up: Side Straddle Hops, Good mornings, Imperial Walkers, Hillbillies, Fonzi Arm Circles, Seal Claps

The Workout: PAX moseyed over to an uphill section of the parking lot. Along the parking lines, we did 1 burpee lunge before karaoking to the other side of the parking lot to do the same on that side. 14 burpee lunges in total. Headed downhill on the parking lot, we did 2 Peter Parkers to a lunge before shuffling to the other side of the parking lot to do the same on that side. 28 Peter Parker lunges in total.

Moseyed up to the starting spot where cinder blocks, a sledge hammer, and an ab roller were waiting for us. We split into 1s and 2s. 1s worked toward an individual total of 50 Curls for the Girls, 50 Shoulder Press, 50 Ruh rows, 50 Sledgehammer squats and 50 Norma Jean Riley’s (ab rolling). 2s ran to the other side of the parking lot to do 5 burpees and 10 WWIIs before running back to the 1s. 1s and 2s exchanged spots until each got to their 50 reps in.

Mary: 7 Minute Abs (give or take a minute) – Low Slow Flutters, American Hammers, Freddie Mercuries, LBC, Reverse LBC, Pickle Pounders, Box Cutters, Hello Dollies. Wrapped up with 10 Peter Parkers due to excessive mumblechatter
Announcements: July 5th volunteers needed for HS firework show, South Wake picnic July 30th
T-Claps (Recognition): YHC celebrated his 1-year F3 Anniversary today. A big thank you to all PAX who’ve pushed me, encouraged me, and held me accountable this past year. Shot out to @Sunshine who also recently wrapped up his 1st year at F3 and has been crushing it all year long.
Prayer: Prayers up for Carpex PAX Pet Sounds dealing with health issues, prayers up for the South Wake F3 Community at large

Post-workout, All PAX joined in for some 2ndF homebrewed coffee courtesy of YHC.

Cletus – Spontaneous Q

EC: LED, Woody, Yogurt. Arrived at 5 am fully expecting to see Breach and his truck full of toys. Oh, he’ll be here for the main event. His pre-blast indicated he was ready to go and bringing coupons. Surely he’ll be here for he main event! OK, 5:30 rolls around–no Breach! I love Q-ing at Cletus, so here goes?
Warm Up: Mosey to top of Ivan lot. Circle up for 50 SSHs, series of arm circles (front, back, seal claps, overhead, chinooks). Gillette rolled in just a minute late, so we all did five burpees OYO. Thanks Gillette, I like burpees.

The Workout: Mosey to amphitheater and the ledge. Lined up for derkins in an Indian Run formation. That is, everybody plank up in derkin position, tight to one end. The phrase “tighten up” triggered the human jukebox–Arthur Fonzarelli (Fonzie) to sing “Tighten Up” by Archie Bell and the Drells–nice! The “Indian” does five merkins, calling them out. Then, runs to head of the line. Cycle through til each PAX had done three rounds. Additional round including step ups and dips. This took a while.

OK, let’s do the same formation, but with balls to the wall (BTW) and preacher’s chair. We went all the way around the back wall of the amphitheater twice. This took a while. But, on the second round of BTW, the wall shifted and we stopped that exercise.

Mosey to the playground. Time for a mini-Murph. Partner up for accountability. Partners do five pullups together, then do 15 merkins together. Next, partners for five pullups together, then do 20 squats together. We continued for as many rounds as possible until 6 minutes before end of workout.

Mosey to pickleball courts with radar guns for Mary

Mary: Popcorn Mary
Announcements: F3 picnic; Expect to see Dr. Ryan next Friday (6/24/22), a Spartan racer that Cupid, Gillette, and I head-locked. Woody rolled by and said, “Never not head-locking”!
Prayer: Stubs and family, 3-Alarm full recovery

Disney 6/16

4 Pax took on the terrain that is Disney  (LED, Best in Show, Abacus and Breach on the Q)

Warm Up: Mosey around the soccer field and then circle up for 22 count exercises of Imperial Walkers, Good Mornings, and SSH.

The Workout: Mosey over to the abyss for some crawl bear to the bottom and then bear crawl back up, performing 11 merkins and the bottom and 11 Pickle pounders at the top, rinse and repeat for another round to equal (22) of each exercise. Mosey back to the soccer fields for some Crab Walk Soccer. The team that gets scored on had to do 10 Homers to marges, then with one leg up then the other, so it pays to be a winner. Turns out that a kickball is not the best choice for this type of event, but we made it work. We needed to take a lap around the field in the middle to give our shoulders a break.

We wrapped with 22 merkins with a ball pass around the square.

Mary: Circled up for 22 counts of Heel taps, dying cockroaches, and hello dollys

Announcements: F3 picnic on July 30th at Harris Lake

Red October’s Little Blue Boombox and Puddles

FNGs: 0
Warm Up: Joined up with Mutiny for a warm-up by Banana Seat https://f3southwake.com/2022/06/13/f-n-g/

The Workout:

While the counts and order of workouts didn’t always stay the same – the general intention was to complete the circuit and start over again as time allowed.  YHC often counted to 9 instead of 10.  Remembered the speaker but left the phone in the car.  Generally, I find Qing kettle bell workouts a little stressful but at one point through this Puddles said “Well I’m sweating!” which made all the difference.

  • Overhead press (10 each arm)
  • Swings (10 each arm)
  • Step-ups with bells (10 each leg)
  • Skull Crushers (15)
  • American Hammers (15)
  • Figure 8s (15)
  • Tricep Extensions (15)
  • Lap Around the field
  • Start back at the top and repeato 3x through the course of the workout

Mary: Low Slow Flutters, Homer to Marge, Dying Cockroach, Supermans, and Captain Thor (thanks BS)

Announcements:

  • 5th of July volunteers for Holly Springs fireworks, See Abe
  • Stubbs meal train
  • BBQ July 30th – start thinking about what to bring

T-Claps (Recognition):

It was great to see Puddles – always good to have one of our own return for a visit.

Prayer:

  • Stubbs, SlideRule

Bakers Dozen for June Ultimate at Ting

5 June challengers did some EC to get max points to start the week of right (Cupid, LED, Sunshine, Fram and Breach)

A Baker’s dozen of running crazed warriors took the filed at Ting for the June challenge version of Ultimate

Cupid, LED, Fram, Wham-O, Roaming Knome, Gillette, Gump, Sunshine, UTI, Kubota, Yogurt, Cornholio, and Breach on the Q

Warm Up: 22 Counts of Side Straddle Hops, Frankensteins and some Good mornings to stretch those hamstrings.

The Workout: Ultimate, 3 merkins on the frisbee drop to start, then 3 Squats and a 10 count exercise for each score, we did some Side Straddle Hops, Merkins, Burpees, LBCs, Big Boy Situps, Hillbillies, Imperial walkers, and some Squats.

Mary: Learned a little more about Gump and found that his name has nothing to do with running

Announcements: 3 Alarm is doing better, we are going to take this week off but @Yogurt requested that we come back in force next week to bring his spirits up.

Prayer: Pray for us, a lot of shootings out there, we need to heal together as a country. Talk to your kids about an active shooter. They need to know what it is so they can be aware of the situation if it ever arises.

Boulder work

FNGs: none
Warm Up: usual warm o rama with some surprise merkins
The Workout: Circle to with your rock and played survivor with a set of 5 exercises, 15 reps each, and a rotation sheet each exercise. Ruh rohs, curls, triceps extension, skull crushers, overhead press. The least favorite exercise (not PAX, that’s just hurtful) got voted off each round. Didn’t help that Fram choose a boulder.

Over to the dugout for some bar hangs. 6 saw who could hang the longest while the other 6 “cheered” them on doing amrap squats.

Mary: Popcorn Mary with some upper body stretches.
Announcements: June challenge, lipstick meal train, run the Quay
T-Claps (Recognition): 7 for EC. Great showing!
Prayer: Dahmer’s family members, FedEx kids graduation, stubs family

April Ultimate

18 HIM came out for an exhausting game of ultimate. Lots of hustle this morning. Can’t wait until next month to do it again.

BS Out!

42 in 42

Today’s workout idea was simple, do 42 different exercises over the course of the workout. The hard parts were twofold.  First, finding 42 different exercises was daunting.  I consulted the ol’ exicon for some help filling the list.  I was also concerned that we wouldn’t have enough time or, the opposite of that, it wouldn’t take enough time.  We ended up coming in under the 45 minute mark which actually worked out because it ended up taking 42 minutes, which LED pointed out.  I was happy with that.

The Taper

There was a vote yesterday between two routes YHC posted. BUT since I drew the voting maps I got to choose what we did despite Lipstick and UTI’s attempt a voter fraud.

FNGs: None but we need some
Warm Up: Count off. Red messed up the count and has to repeat K math.
The Workout: 5 miles on about the flattest course I could design.
Mary: We stretched, somewhat and counted off again.
Announcements: The sweet smell of trash has made it’s way to Fuquay so there will be a cleanup on Sunday after the ruck. It was promised to be the “most fun trash pickup ever.” See LED or Breach. Lawn Dart has made contact with a swim coach to prepare pax for upcoming tri’s. If you’re interested contact Lawn Dart. Let’s not waste this person’s time.
T-Claps (Recognition):
Prayer: YHC took us out.

Burpee Golf at Possum Trot 2/9/22

FNGs: None
Warm Up: Can’t remember but we did something
The Workout: Multiple coupons of Heavy weight. (Sprinkler wanted something lighter) One PAX wore weight vest and flipped tire while the rest of us lifted to an I/C 20 count of any upper body exercise you wanted. One PAX threw frisbee in hopes of getting it close to tire. For every step away it was one burpee.  We repeated this cycle twice and the tire went to the other end of the parking lot and back while coupons were stationary. Ended up on over 150 burpee count before Mary. Breach will blame it on the frisbee, but we may have just been tired.
Mary: We did stuff for our abs.
Announcements: Can’t remember…check slack.  I am just typing words at this point because I cannot remember the announcements. Which is why 16-Bit is the BB Nazi and wants you to do them immediately after you Q.  Cancun should be the social media Q…Or maybe he should be the Meme Q…Those make me laugh….HAAAAAAAHHHHAAAAA!
T-Claps (Recognition): Anyone who reads this.
Prayer:  Injured PAX, unspoken, Gumps Dad passing. Breach with safe contest and reconnecting with an old friend.
