Warm Up: Run to the end of the driveway and then 22 counts of SSH, Frankensteins, and Cherry Pickers.
The Workout: Stations with 1:30 of work and 25 seconds of rest between stations

Comment: Time is a very valuable commodity, it should not be wasted as we can only get 24 hrs in a day. We cant buy more or acquire more, so be present and know that when you give someone your time that is a powerful thing.

Warm Up:Jog to the end of the driveway and then circle up for 22 counts of SSH, Frakenstins good mornings and daisy pickers

The Workout: 2 Minute rounds with 30 seconds of rest to rotate 7 stations

Q school 2020 KickOff

Mutiny would be the Q school kick off for 2020. We want to try to offer Q school a lot this year and the best way to do that would be to do it during a workout. This was the first attempt to get all points across while still providing a valid workout. Overall it went pretty well for the first go at it. Here are some details to the action.

FNGs: Welcome Pumps!

Quick Overview:
Plant the flag. Site Q’s responsibility
Any FNG’s. 1-2 mins prior to start
Know your PAX. Who needs encouragement. Don’t leave anyone behind. Start on time 0530. End on time 45 mins end workout. Then COT. People can leave if needed at that time. During workouts, respect the Q. If Q needs correcting, do it after the workout. No questions asked today so I guess the PAX got it all. We can have high expectations moving forward with this group of HIM.

Warm Up:
Warm up exercises, try to mix it up. Static stretches should be avoided and Dynamic stretching is recommended.
Short mosey to circle
SSH – cadence count, how to call and how to end
Not too fast
Windmill (give instruction)
Merkins (teach good form)
Daisy Pickers (slow and what the exercise is for)

FNGs:22-Pax.  2- 2.0 FNGs Dark wing Duck & Lasso
Warm Up:Plant the flag and unload trucks
The Workout:  Paint a garage(food shelter), fill pot holes in driveway.  As the pax arrived we started handing out rollers and paint trays.  A few pax started by sanding and wiping cob webs from the building while the 2.0s began painting in an organized fashion. Ha.  Once we got rolling everything became red. The building, kids, faces, my ride. Once the backhoe showed up with gravel, we lost a lot of 2.0s to spreading rocks but we pushed through.  We got 2 coats of paint on and filled the pot holes. The Girl Scout cookies were opened thanks to Tetanus, and the kids devoured them. We finished painting around 11:15 cleaned up and went to chick fil a for 2ndf.  It was great to see everyone out there and the 2.0s getting some work in.  Thanks everyone for making this successful.

16 Cletus – Stronger by Merkin

On the pre-blast, I challenged the PAX to post for multiple Merkins. After squeezing out six HCs, I was pleased to find a full parking lot at 5:25 am. EC: 187, Banana Seat, Slide Rule, UTI, Warbucks.

Warm up:

Good mornings (15), followed by Progressive versions of SSH (20)—Regular, Smurf Jack, Red Bull Smurf Jack (20)

Arm circles 10 forward, 10 backward. OK, I had to mix these in before tackling the RBSJs, just to catch my breath.

Recover on mosey to opposite parking lot.

The Thang:

Line up on curb, directly across from opposite curb.

Mike Tysons (plank, squat while in plank, Merkin) 5, 10, 15 near curb. Bear Crawl to and from opposite curb between reps.

Lunge walk to other curb, execute Circle of Merkins (left hand on curb 5; both hands on curb 10; right hand on curb 15; both feet on curb (20)). Lunge walk to and from opposite curb between reps.

 

Mosey to amphitheater:

Find a spot on the ledge. Dips 20x to warm up

Alternating dips on the ledge and People’s Chair on the wall

Find a spot on the wall. People’s chair 5, 10

 

Mosey to brick wall at back of Hunt Center:

15 Merkins to warm up

Alternating BTW and squats 5, 10, 15

The Workout: 

  1. (one or two sandbags – modify as needed)
  2. Curls for the girls (20 reps)
  3. Figure 8’s around the legs (10 Reps right and 10 reps left)
  4. Overhead press (20 reps)
  5. Floor press / bridged (20 reps)
  6. Willy Mays Hayes – Bear hug side lunge (20 reps)
  7. Good Mornings (20 reps)
  8. Squats (20 reps)
  9. Up right rows (20 reps)
  10. Halo’s (20 reps)
  11. Rut Rows (20 reps)

Rinse and repeat between each exercise

Run backwards (Back Peddle) to middle of parking lot

The Workout: A workout with six stations, 2 mins of work and 30 seconds of rest between each set to rotate 2 rounds

Station 2 Pain Sticks- Round 1 Overhead Press- Round 2 Curls for the Girls

The Workout:split 4 for red October 15 for ultimate.

15 count of following. Single arm bent over rows, hot potato, halo around body, figure 8 between legs, reverse lunges each leg, side lunges, goblet squat with 15 count pulse at end. 10-Snatch and press each arm.

7’s wonder bra and slow merkins

repeat 1st group of exercises adding 30 IC chest press, Russian twists, and side bends.

Throwback 5 – Day 4 – Disney

Throwback 5 appears to be working just as planned.  End the decade and start a new one with 5 convergences at the “Original 5” Southwake AOs.  Today was Disney’s turn.  YHC turned to Kid Cracker to co-Q with me as we were the Site’s initial Qs.  I always loved Q-ing with Kid Cracker as there would be diversity in the body parts worked and lots of good mumblechatter.

It was a cloudy, 37 degree Thursday morning as YHC approached a gathering crowd in the Middle Creek Park parking lot.  The glows of at least one (Redenbacher) Pax member finishing EC could be seen.  The original Southwake Shovel Flag was planted, fists were bumped and Kid Cracker got us going!

Warm Up: Short fellowship jog (0.33 miles) around the dark soccer field – we continued this mosey to the small parking lot adjacent to the baseball field house – where we circled up

The Workout:

Round 1:  Kid Cracker

  • Partner1 partner carry Partner2 the long distance up the hill in the parking lot.  Resting or alternating as needed
  • Disclaimer was issued by Kid Cracker “if you have back problems, knee problems or are on your (menstrual) cycle – you can lunge walk”  Classic 🙂
  • Alternative to partner carry was lunge walk half way then catch up on the run
  • At top of hill series of exercises were done (too gassed to remember)
  • Mosey back to bottom of the hill
  • Rince and repeat with alternating pax member
  • Fellowship run back to the park toward the Abyss (7 flights of stairs)

Round 2:  Deadbolt

  • Keep your partner – half the partners would go to bottom of the stair (but stay with your partners) and half stay up top
  • DORA with runners going up/down the stairs.  The DORA was
    • 100 Merkin
    • 200 LBC
    • 300 Squats
    • Ab exercises until the 6 gets up
  • Clockwise and Counterclockwise Indian runs (50-50 split) from the Abyss to the concrete area at the bottom on the half pipe
