Possum Trot Glory Days 3/4/26

Revisiting the pre-Covid glory days of Possum Trot, F3SW’s original AO. Pleased to see the 12 Oaks bus roll in with Flanigan and Brony. And Double D and Gump. Goal is to use the signature site features: gravel parking lot, the hill, the tennis courts.

Warm up SSH 25x, Imperial Walkers 15x, Hillbillies 15x, mosey for some big boy sit-ups.

ME: Grab a rock

We struggled to count off: 1, 2, 1, 2, 1… Finally got it right.

Mosey to “gravel” parking lot and line up. “Ones” push rock while bear crawling out and back, while “twos” do arm exercises: curls, overhead press, triceps. Three rounds.

Began moseying around the tennis courts, but exercised on the hill per Gump’s request. Hill. Dips was in great condition: mowed, not too slippery. Climb hill, dips at top on guard rail 20x. Five rounds up/down hill with dips at top.

Final stretch of rock push with bear crawl to return rocks. Head to tennis courts.

Once again, divide into ones and twos. Ones BTW while twos hold plank. Three rounds.

Finally, circle the inside perimeter and settle on the far end to set up “suicides.” Emphasis on speed while not pulling a hammy. Run to sideline of court 1 and back, sideline of court 2 and back, court three and back, court four and back.

3-4-2026 Possum Trot – Learning to Count-Off

Nine PAX converged on Possum Trot from near and far.

WU: SSH 25x, Imperial Walkers 10x, Hillbillies 10x, Arm Circles F/B 10x, BB sit-ups 20x

ME: Grab a rock. Success. Count off. Failure. Finally determined we had nine PAX. Then, we managed to count off as Group 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2…

Thang 1: Group 1: Slide rock across parking lot while bear crawling. Lots of different methods, including Sprinkler with a steady slide all the way across, leaving a nice skidmark; sliding and rolling was the most common approach, plus a couple of tosses. Group 2: Arm exercises, including curls and overhead press. At least two successful rounds. Time to move on!

Thang 2: Mosey with rock overhead and place rock at bottom of hill. Together, climb hill and do exercises on guard rail 5x. Dips and irkins. Requested by Gump.

Thang 3: Slide rocks for the final time down the back stretch (to make up for losses at parking lot). Return rocks.

Thang 4: Tennis courts. Group 1: BTW 20 second count. Group 2: Plank hold

Thang 5: Suicides on tennis courts. Beautiful courts, four courts wide. Requested by Six Inch.

Mary: Low slow flutter, Freddie Mercury, pickle pounders, Superman

Announcements: Q ‘Em All Challenge

Prayer Requests: Escobar’s wife receiving cancer treatment, Ausfart’s wife recovering from surgery, military personnel shot down in current middle east war.

Day 2 2015 Throwback Week – Possum Trot

Day 2 of 2015 Throwback week truly felt like an OG workout. YHC pulled into the lot, planted the flag, hid the speaker on the court, then walked over to the larger than normal crowd. To my surprise there were 4-5 HIM that were at my first post and some other familiar faces I haven’t seen a quite a while. After pounding and greeting each PAX, it was 0530. The F3 mission statement took place along with the 5 core principles. Fram then decided to jog up so we could get our morning share of 5 burpees. Good thing we didn’t do these back in the day when Tardy would show up 2-3 mins into every workout. Here’s what happened at the Trot.

Warm Ups
We saluted New Mexico with follow the leader quick feet and slides on the tennis courts to start off then moseyed down to the concession stand area.
– Smurf Jacks
– Imperial Squat Walkers
– Bat Wings
– Slaloms

Wall Work
PAX found a spot on the small wall for dirkens and box jumps. Started with 10 each then 9 each all the way down to 1 each.

Jacob’s Ladder (another classic by New Mexico)
PAX lined up on the hill next to the baseball field. Back peddle up the hill, 3 star jumps, run down the hill, increasing burpees for each trip down. PAX did this 7 times.
Two lines for an Indian run back up to the tennis courts.

Tennic Courts
Each IR line stayed together for Chilly Broad Jumps across all four courts. PAX lined up about 2-3 feet apart in a chill-cut plank. Guy at the end broad jumps over each PAX legs until the end then gets in line. Repeat until we got to the fence.

Bearicides – PAX bear crawled to the end of the first court, ran back, perfomed 5 hand release merkins. Repeat to the end of second, third and yes all the way down to the fourth court.

Sally – PAX performed the squats while listening to Sally song. Quite a burner.

Mary – W2CC x15 IC
– Strict sit ups
– Side plank ups L
– Side plank ups R
– Reverse LBCs
– Mtn climber twist (touch knee to opposite elbow)

COT
Announcements: Paint the fence 2nd F, F3 Picnic, Rico’s soccer kids accomplishment

Great turnout today for this workout. It was such a surprise to see guys I worked out with for the first 5+ years in F3 all the time. Hope to see them more soon. Thanks for letting me lead such a strong group of HIM.

BS Out!

The Nessssssssst 3.21.23

EC: @Finkle, @U.T.I., @Lipstick

PAX: @Sprinkler, @Finkle, @U.T.I., @Lipstick, @Pumps, @Double D

Warm-up: Quick Mosey around the park sidewalk and came back for some Good Mornings, Mountain Climbers, Hillbillies, Downward Dog, and Sir Fazio’s.

Event 1: Navy Seals – tried a new event that YHC has been dreaming up in my spare time.  This was a 20 count seal clap, 20 count overhead clap, 10 merkins, and 30 second plank hold at one end of the parking lot.  Then mosey to the other end John Cusack style and R/R.  We did 4 rounds and it was exciting.  It would be good to switch out merkins with Balls to the Wall or another arm exercise.

Event 2: @Pumps complained that his legs were cold and like yah, it’s 29 degrees outside and you’re wearing shorts bro…  So we did 11’s.  Squats at one end and lunges at the other.

Event 3: @Sprinkler asked a wonderful question of when does the workout begin so I decided to go for the trifecta and we did typewriters down the block wall.  That’s another @Finkle specialty with 10 dips and flip over to do 10 Irkins and repeat all the way down the wall.

Mary: @Pumps again was begging for the sneak peak.  Another signature @Finkle move which is a wide up and out step in place giving those around a sneak peak of the “package.”  And to end this perfect workout with perfect weather on a perfect morning we had to pair the sneak peak with some Meat Gazers.  @Lipstick was especially fond of this one…for some unknown reason.

Prayer Requests: @U.T.I.’s m-in-law needing a kidney transplant, @Gamecock is sick.

Lots of Pole and a Fire Hydrant

YHC returned from a minor medical procedure to continue the 75 Hard journey and take the lead at Thunder. I haven’t been to this AO in awhile, so I was stoked to lead these guys. A ridiculously humid night, nobody left dry. The group chalked up over a mile and stopped more times than I can count.

FNG’s: no…but a cool cat visitor from F3 Concord…Yellowcake!
Warm Up: Good Mornings
The Workout: We took the Stinson/Grigsby sidewalk loop the whole way around to the back of Womble. It was roughly a mile and we stopped at every pole (either power or sign) for a series of exercises focused on Legs, Core, or Upper body. At each stop we either did 10 reps or 15 reps. We began each series with burpees. At each stop, we increased burpees from 1-5, then 5-1, then 1-5, then 5-1, giving us 50 burpees total by nights end. Exercises for the night included: Squats, Star Jumps, Donkey Kicks IC, Alternate Lunges IC, Fire Hydrants, Money Humpers IC, Merkins, Diamond Merkins, Curb Dips, Hand-Release Merkins, Nipplers IC, Annies IC, Shoulder Taps IC, Pickle Pounders IC, WW2’s, Freddie Mercury IC, Taps IC, Dying Cockroach, LBC’s IC, Homer to Marge IC.
