Foreign Cars… 7:50 Keys were in hand ready to continue the day. Welcome two FNG’s brought by Norm. Martini (had to stop lost 15 mins because he was dry heaving, dry Martini, Martini. Sliderule named him) & Chickenfoot (first concert was Sammy Hagar)

Always good times when I get to lead. Thanks for those that stuck around some and came back to make sure my car got unlocked. Good work men!

In the Wake of Flo Jo

Pax of 24 posted in the Wake of Hurricane Florence (Flo Jo)

Wake of Flo Jo

Lipstick and Yogurt Q’d the main event, filling for regular Q’s Emeril and Chips.

EC: Lipstick, Deadbolt, 187, Roger Roger, Chips, Warbucks, Skidmark, Crosby, and Pablo.

Warm Up: Lipstick led warmups with good mornings x15, side straddle hops x25, dips x15, and mountain climbers—with runs in between.

The Workout: With the Pax warmed up for “running,” Lipstick introduced “Bear Crawl suicides” at the ramp. After partnering up, first partner sprinted in a bear crawl to the third light pole and ran on hind legs back down, while second partner did Merkins. Then the pair switched. Lipstick had the Pax rinse and repeat for at least another two sets of light poles, mixing in squats instead of Merkins at the bottom. Lipstick ended the first half of the workout with a Pax sprint to the top of the ramp.

Yogurt kicked off the second half with dips on the short wall. Some of the 24 Pax kindly adjusted because space was tight. Then, quickly back down the ramp for 21 genuine sit ups, with partner holding feet. Switch. Sprint back to the top like Flo Jo. Yogurt attempted to keep the Pax in cadence with patty-cake Merkins, with limited success. Certainly each pair did at least 20! Back down the ramp. Partner carry half way up, switch. 10 count rest at top.

Mosey to the back straightaway in the park. Shoulder taps x25. Short run down the hill. Crawl bear about 50 feet. Run the long way back to COT area.

Mary: Tight Mary with 21 LBCs

Buford brought the music today.  We all learned a little bit about the man known as Buford.  NC State  Football songs where present in the mix along with some old school Rap.  It was a bummer though we didn’t hear Miley Cyrus though.  Also, I didn’t hear any Taylor Swift which I know Buford personally listens to on a regular basis.

Announcements: BRR end of next week, 9/11 stair climb.  Some Qs will be looking for others to step up and take AOs as 12 of us will be tapering and running BRR.  Great chance to lead.  The workout today was all about some training for the 9/11 stair climb.  We might underestimate some of the challenges we take on physically and mentally and it is important to focus on putting in the time to prepare – this is as true for the challenges we face in life as much as it is for the challenges we subject ourselves to in fitness.
Prayer: Chips coworker who had a family member in an accident, took a silent 15 count for all to reflect on, and lift up to the group and unspoken.  YHC took us out in prayer.

Skipping to the John

EC: Boy George and UTI grabbed 2 miles on the EC route (you may know it from Paradise City EC)

Warm Up: We went through some dynamic stretching starting with the very difficult and dreaded: WALK.  Walking away from the start of the run, we warmed the legs and made some space for some Butt Kicks, followed by Karaokes, SKIPPING!!!!, and finalized the warm-up with some lunges with a twist.  END WARM UP

The Workout: The main event was a modified and simplified running route.  There is this whole thing about not leaving the 6 behind or losing people or something…  😛

This week we turned right once we left Ting and went straight down Main/55.  We had some folks returning for the 6 and continuing on past town Hall, turning back for Ting just after the Car Wash.  A bonus Port-o-John was spotted which reassured us we were on the right route and that all was right with the world.  From here, this is where we basically be followed the return route of the Holly Springs Half Marathon the all of the way back to Ting.  There were some slight modifications near the end following a reverse of the typical Paradise City EC route.  Extra miles, extra hills, extra FUN!!!  4.7+ miles of it!!!

Announcements:  Derek Davis 5k this weekend, keep an eye out for Lipstick, 187, and the shovel flag.  A post will likely hit the Facebooks, F3 Camp is also still happening this weekend – spots still available,

Prayer: Brandon, friend of Peak Week and Roger Roger, was placed in a coma to overcome some of his injuries incurred from an accident on the water.  Chips mentioned a young boy Dawson that needed our prayers, he sustained a concussion and was under observation in the hospital.  I checked in with Chips tonight and it sounds like he is home and doing much better.

One round of bullfrogs since Emeril posted and its his favorite exercise. Once the bullfrogs had no more hop in them we wheel barrowed the rest of the way. Finished up with four laps of broke back derkins. Partners carried bricks and exchanged them every time they met in the middle along with each man doing 15 derkins on his partners back.
