Standard U-Turn with Minimal Kisses and Hugs

FNGs: Not Today
Warm Up: Various stretching called out by the Q and some wanna be Q’s, as YHC was stalling with the staggered departures 🙂
The Workout: Standard U-Turn
Mary: Stretching during announcements
Announcements: F3 Wilmington Race is a go. Check the webs and signup on google sheet.
T-Claps (Recognition): 28 men for still hitting the pavement hard with all that is going on.  It’s been a rough week for the world, a lot of disruption in our daily life and races cancelled. This is the time we need each other the most. The strong friendships are what will get us through this and make an impact on community where we can.
Prayer: All effected by Covid-19, Moby’s Father back in hospital, Aqua’s Father in-law, Katniss Co-worker/Long time friend passed, Crablegs.

UTI Talks a Big Game

EC:  Banana Seat, YHC, Deadbolt, Mr. Terrific, Alpine – I’m sure there were others….  I didn’t get a great tally  Notable mentions are Pikachu, Lipstick, Katniss, Mr. Terrific, and Aquaman that were charting their own course this morning and did not COT with us today.

FNGs:  Brought into the gloom by Emeril.  Gilligan was once a rower which naturally means he must sail.  He didn’t say it but by the looks of him I’d say he likely has an eclectic group of friends that enjoy getting lost in remote and exotic locations.  Welcome Gilligan!

Warm Up:  As part of warm-up, YHC took a moment to get the runners sorted.  Immediately kicking the runners planning to go slower than a 10-min pace out onto the route.  Other runners (technically non-Uturners) were launching at the same time and they left pretty abruptly.  Having them filter through the crowd just added to the confusion.  The remainder hung with me for a little warm-up.  Daisy Pickers, Frankensteins, light jog, butt kickers, high knees, carioca, and Backwards jogging were all on the menu.

The Workout:  Standard Uturn route was the plan with mandatory Pick-up the 6 spots at the 12 Oaks Circle and at Irving.  Ultimate plan, have all waves finish the run at the same time.

Wave 1: Fun-paced

  • left at 0600, go your pace but stay together

Wave 2: Fast-paced

  • Warm-up at 0600 and left after a bit

Wave 2.5: The Sick Kids

  • left a little after Wave 2, we weren’t sure what we’d do.  We managed 2 miles.
  • Title explanation here:  I woke up this morning for 5 miles EC and 5 miles ME.  Apparently my health isnt quite with me (yet again).  I wound up back at Panera with 20 mins to spare about 6 miles EC+ME, grabbed a coffee and met everyone outside for COT with said coffee in hand.  The coffee was great, esp with my cough, etc.  A little fun to be very well rested and warm for COT while the rest of you just kicked ass but were probably cold.  I’ll be back to 100% soon and not look a like such a…  (what’s the F3 lexicon for A-hole?)

Wave 3: 3 milers

  • 0625 Start

Mary:  Gilligan kept talking about some named Mary-Ann…  Dude has it bad…

Announcements:

  • Showing support for Forceps today at Jon’s memorial – Hope Community Church 11:30 to 2PM
  • BRR, Looks like we have a new 12-man (16-bit) and 9-man (Yogurt) teams in formation.  A few slots left so reach out to YHC or a captain of your choosing to get locked in.  I’m averaging about 2 headlocks for every 2nd F this week so act fast.
  • Wilmingon race is a few weeks away – check out the slack-o-sphere for details on the walk with CrabLegs

T-Claps (Recognition):  It was a cold one this morning.  Great work starting your Saturday off right

Prayer:

  • Forceps
  • Wiggly
  • Wallaby

Popcorn at the Nut

FNGs: Nope

Warm Up: see: workout
The Workout: the workout was popcorn style after Da Business requested it.  Unfortunately, he could not attend (cue Alanis Morrisette).  I don’t really remember everything we did, but we each took about 5-10 minutes and brought the pain.  There were bear crawls, pull ups, sprints, and some other stuff.

Fruity Pebbles with a glass of OJ

I’m going to get straight to the point. No talking smack on those that didn’t make it. No talking smack on other AOs. As long as you took the plunge today and did a workout with your brothers you are good in my book.

FNGs:  None have shown up.  They must have gotten lost.  I hope they are okay

5 Legs swings both directions both feet
Wring out the shoulders.

The Workout:

Jog to pickup the bricks.  2 bricks per pax.

10 Brick Merkin Taps Right hand on bricks
10 Brick Merkin Taps Left hand on bricks
20 Goblet Presses
20 Exaggerated toe touches with the bricks in hand

We then airplane to the wall by the playground.  Arm’s straight out to the side.

We all took a spot on the wall.  Holding your bricks either out in front or close together depending on how you felt.  Three pax went and did pull ups till fatigue.  Once they completed they rejoined the wall and the next pax took their place.   Once all pax completed the pull ups we moved to the flags.

1 Round:  — Should have been 2 but I noticed I was running out of time
10 Fruity Pebbles — T merkin into I, with the bricks
5 Reverse to Forward Lunges Right leg with bricks overhead
5 Reverse to Forward Lunges Left leg with bricks overhead
20 Hello Dolly’s ‘I think that is what they are called’

Cusack to the bus drop off.

Pax got into two lines.  Plank jacks until you get to the front of the line.  Then once in the front boo boo bear crawl.  Switch legs at the median.  Run back to the line and continue the plank jacks.

Moved back to the flags

1 Round:  — Should have been 2 but I noticed I was running out of time.  Also dropped the Hello Dollys
10 Fruity Pebbles — T merkin into I, with the bricks
5 Reverse to Forward Lunges Right leg with bricks overhead
5 Reverse to Forward Lunges Left leg with bricks overhead

Airplane to the wall

We all took a spot on the wall.  Holding your bricks either out in front or close together depending on how you felt.  Three pax went and did pull ups till fatigue.  Once they completed they rejoined the wall and the next pax took their place.  Once all pax completed the pull ups we moved to the basketball hoop.

1 Round: — Should have been two and I dropped the toe taps
10 Brick Merkin Taps Right hand on bricks
10 Brick Merkin Taps Left hand on bricks
20 Goblet Presses

Return the bricks and jogged to the flags.  I was going to wheel barrow the bricks back across the field but no time.

FNGs: None
Warm Up:

Circled up for the following.

Bounce while YHC explained the format for today’s run.  The 3 milers will start at 6:25 and will be lead by Sprinkler.  The 5 milers will go out together and will have three pick ups.  The first one being in 12 Oaks at the circle. The idea here is that this would be a long pickup but should be safer than Old Apex Holly Springs road.  The second pickup would be at the corner of Irving and Green Oaks.  The last pick up would be at the end.  The hope/goal was that all pax would finish at roughly the same time.

Foot traces in both directions
Frankensteins

Q Source Message of the day:

Q 1.1 DRP (Daily Red Pill)

The daily commitment to accelerate Fitness, Fellowship and Faith

A man can not get right on their own.

“Going it alone, the Mascot is doomed to fail because no man can disengage the death grip he holds on his own status quo.  Absent a Disrupter, a man willing and able to create a disturbance in his enervated life, he will remain just as he is, clinging to the capsized boat of his life and incapable of initiating the Movement required to Get Right.”

Mascot is a symbol of a something rather than the something itself.

The first disturbance the Disrupter makes in the life of the Mascot is to elicit Commitment.

The mascot has to commit to Movement, not just its appearance.

He must decide to turn Pro rather than continue life as an Amateur

The HIM knows that proper personal alignment requires the constant honing that can only be done through daily practice.  His focus Is on Preparedness.

An Amateur will start each day with the Blue Pill and live a life of seeming rather than being.

No man is too far wrong to Get Right.  It takes just one small movement.  The decision to take the Red Pill.  To commit to your acceleration.

Prayer:

Forceps and his family

We Tried to Kill Sliderule

Welcome to the first U-Turn following Richmond and HSHM. YHC was curious how many Pax would be out coming off off of some big races, but with recent PRs in their heads the Pax were looking for more and trying to find a way to keep accelerating. Plus YHC promised a couple BIG announcements coming today. There were lots of options for today’s workout. 3 mile option in play, 5 mile option in play, and a new Beta AO option for those that wanted to give it a shot.
