Dawg was like a good Margarita… Salty!!!

Emeril has been hanging out with CarPex for too long. Whoever signed him up for a CarPex 9 man team needs to get their butt back out at F3 South Wake and talk to this guy. He never shut up today. Just kept yapping about something. He’s a good man that is influenced too easily by the folks he works out with. He needs to stop working out with CarPex. This has to stop. PLEASE MAKE IT STOP!!

Sternum Pull Series:
— Sternum Pull starts lying on your pick and having the bell behind your head. Then bring the bell to your sternum as you sit up.

— Lying on your back go into a bridge position for chest presses.

The Workout:

Each pax was supposed to decide which version of the series they wanted to do for the workout.
We did 8 rounds of each exercise. 20 seconds of exercise plus 10 seconds of either Mountain Climbers or Side Straddle Hops
This means we did a total of 40 rounds.  You did all 8 rounds in a row and then moved onto the next exercise.

The Workout: Partner Dora

As I was headed to Crazy Ivan at 4:45 this morning I received a text from Pikachu asking me to fill in as Pikachu wasn’t feeling well.   I agreed and texted Dawg to let him know.   EC Yoga by Emeril, Dawg and Lucky Charms at 4:55.  During Yoga, Dawg said that Dumbo had a good suggestion for doing a Dora with kettle bells so we talked it through and here’s what we came up with as 5 other Pax rolled in for the workout.

Round 1:  300 KB Swings.  150 per partner.  When partner 1 is doing swings, partner 2 is doing an Ab exercise

10 Burpees each

Round 2:  200 Goblin Squats.  100 per partner.  When partner 1 is doing swings, partner 2 is doing an Ab exercise

Quick jog around parking lot

Round 3: 100 Shoulder presses.  50 per partner.  When partner 1 is doing swings, partner 2 is doing an Ab exercise

Dawg took over and headed the Pax to the auditorium for rounds of peoples chair and balls to the wall followed by some lunges.

Back to the parking lot for Mary led by Emeril.

The Workout: First Q at TBD for YHC. After our first set of Burpees, we were off to form 2 indian run lines. Started off around the field path. At the Ivan lot, we circled up for some Run and Drops. YHC called the drops – roughly 10 or so. Back to Indian lines to the PL. Another set of Run and Drops, ending with 5 Burpees OYO. Mosey to Concession stand where we found some space and some wall. Group 1 BTTW, Group 2 10 count Burpees. Switch. Group 1 Peter Parkers, Group 2 BTTW. Switch. Speedy Mosey to ball fields. Group 1 5 Burpees, Group 2 sprint to center and shoulder taps for the 6 of Group 1. Switch. YHC had to modify here as I couldn’t figure out how to play catch up. When we all returned, 10 Burpees OYO. What I could figure out was another indian run. Back around the long way past Ivan again. Return to the tennis courts to find Mary.


Mary: There she was for a round of popcorn. 12 exercises (13 with my added triangle merkins). Arguable winner to Brony for the Thor’s Hammer.

Crazy Ivan 7/26- Big Boy Toys

Pax of 8 got stronger with some big boy toys

Warm up– Jog around the parking lot and circle up for a 22 count party of SSH, Imperial Walkers, Daisy Pickers and Windmills. 

Main Event– 4 stations of fun for a Tabata style workout 8 30 second sets with 10 seconds of rest between each set. Rotate Stations after completion of the set. 

Station 1 (Kettlebells) Round 1 swings, Round 2 Upright Rows

Station 2 (Tires and Fire hoses) Round 1 Tire flips, Round 2 Fire hose Lunges

Simple but effective

FNGs: Welcome 2 FNG’s. Venkman and Slimer. Father / 2.0 combo
Warm Up: 2 for EC. Half lap around soccer field. Good mornings, windmills, arm circles, hamstring stretches. Middle of warmups a Jeep rolls in.  Luckily they were FNGs so spared the group penalty burpees.

The Workout: To small hill.  Run up backwards and back down.  At bottom do crowd pleasers,1-7 reps.  Consists of merkin and groiners.

To wall.  BTW shoulder taps while partner does colt 45s. 3 sets of top to mid squat, mid to low squat, full squat. Rotating between sets with partner.

To rock pile.  Did sets of 20 IC – curls for the girls, ground pounders and rut rows.  Jack webbs1-3 ratio up to 7 sets.

Mosey to tennis courts.

Mary: captain thor 1-4 reps up to 7 sets. LSF, box cutters, heel taps, Freddie mercuries up to 20 IC.  Have a nice day!!

Warm Up:  Run around the pitch.  Circle up for Michael Phelps, 25 SSH, 10 daisy Pickers, fozzio Arm Circles (F/B), HB, IW, Static Arm stretches.

The Workout:  Q showed up on time with a game plan but was not feeling it; shared his concern with Gump.  Immediately called an audible from a boot camp workout with rocks to a game of Ultimate Frisbee!  Dropped Frisbees and Frisbees out of bounds resulted in 3 rep exercises (various).  Scores resulted in 10 count exercises.

Mary:  Each PAX called out a core exercise ranging from Pickle-pounders to American Hammers.

The Workout:

20 Rounds of one minute of the tier you select above. Start at 4 reps each exercise. If you have something you have to do on each arm it will be 2 and 2. If you finish the exercise under 30 seconds. Increase the number of reps. We will go from 4 to 6. If you cannot finish by 40 seconds decrease the number of reps from 6 to 4. You must stay in good form. Form cannot suffer. Increasing/decreasing the reps is down by 2.

Form and Function

I was excited to Q today.  I recently purchased Onnit Kettble Program and decided that we need to work on form at Ivan.  We don’t always have to have an extremely intense workout and we need to work on form from time to time.  I woke up early and ready to go.

On the way to the workout I saw a Black Bear.  I knew today was going to be a good day.  It was just outside the twelve oaks entrance on Green Oaks.  Close to where Cowboy works.  I hope he is enjoying is time off.

I arrived for EC and what do I see.  Dumbo ready to leave Dawg in the dust.  Lucky driving a non company truck, Dahmer looking ready to get after it.  As always there was Pikachu’s SUV, but no Pikachu.  It must be tough trying to run 5o plus miles a week.  Sleep in not a priority for that man.  Before we left 187 came to show us how it is supposed to go down.  We began the EC trip leaving the Ivan parking lot.  As we approached Cletus parking lot SlideRule and a shirtless, but not vestless, Banana Seat greeted us.  Enough about them they didn’t attend Ivan.  We ran up Stinson and Dumbo and Dawg made a left and everyone else made a right.  As Dawg tried to keep up with Dumbo he started to fall behind.  Then Dumbo probably did one of the shortest pick up the six in F3 history.

We then saw Bullseye and Aquaman on the baseball field looking at the ISS.  As Dumbo slowed down to stay with me we finished the run with a couple of moments to spare.  It was time to work on form and function.  I did not see Axe running but he looked sweaty so he must have been out there.

Also I noticed ShamWow!!! was back in action which is nice to see.

Warm Up

A fun jog around Club Worx back to the tennis courts for warm up consisting of: 36 SSH for 36 months of F3 for me, good mornings, daisy pickers, imperial walkers and hill billy’s.

 

The Workout

  • Line up on the tennis courts for: wheel barrels, bear crawls, crawl bears, crab walk and reverse crab walks
  • Run to rock pile, grab rocks and then line up on soccer field for fun with rocks consisting of curls for the girls, ruh rohs, triceps extensions and LipSync’s 8 step full body lift that is actually only 6 steps. Between each arm exercise run to other end of field and back which included one 10 set of merkins for one of the runs because we were 20 minutes into the workout and haven’t done any merkins.
  • John Cusack to parking lot for down and back Bearly Curling.
  • Return rocks and separate into 2 groups of 8 so each brother can do 10 abyss merkins between 2 picnic tables while the other 7 did various experiences consisting of LBCs, WWII and monkey humpers
  • Run to little pavilion for 10 dips and then run to tennis courts for Mary consisting of Freddy Mercurys, low slow flutter, American hammers and 1 minute of have a nice day.
