Announcements:

PAX in attendance helped Gump and YHC name this AO;  we offered up three choices with an honorable mention:

Choices:  Paradise Lost, Paradise Gained, U.F.O. & Elenor Frisbee (although a nice recommendation from the crowd – Vicious Discus).   Not sure if the PAX were thrilled with our top 4.  Regardless, U.F.O. was a near unanimous vote.  Questions asked what it stood for? – – – so many recommendations & examples from the PAX – some not permitted in this PG space.

Going forward, each Q will determine the abbreviation.  Let’s have some FUN with it.

Tues nights with 3 Alarm – come out and support another new official AO (great work Wild Turkey, Yogurt, Moose…).
Tea Time tonight

Change of Command:  Nantan – Thank you Pikachu!  Welcome Breach!

Q-School next Sunday at 1400.  See Banana Seat.

T-Claps (Recognition):  All the PAX who came out this AM

Prayer:  YHC took us out.  UNSPOKEN.
Honored to lead. -Dauber

Even the Odds Rev3

FNGs: None
Warm Up: Met at normal AO start.  Mosey down to Sheepdog Track. Circled up for SSH, Imperial/Hillbillies, SFAC, Good Morning, and Daisy pickers.  Anticipation was high as most of the first time PAX had heard through the SLACK machine and by reputation how brutal of a beating this can be.  Several PAX were on their 2nd and 3rd round of this 1-hour long beatdown of U vs U but were still anticipating the special kind of suck it brings. YHC read the rules and tweaked how the “points” are scored.
The Workout: The ODD numbers must be done in order of sequence.  1,3,5, etc. the EVEN numbers can be done in any order you choose.  Once you start the exercise you must complete that exercise before moving on to the next number (Even or Odd). The timer is set for one hour.  You must keep track of your points for a total tally at the end of the hour.  If the exercise is not completed before the timer runs out, you do not get ANY points for completion. During the workout, the PAXs that are running can pick up any man’s six on any of the EVEN exercises.  (*note* If you are bear crawling and get tired you cannot walk around the track to complete the 400m. It’s a 400m bear crawl…not a 100-meter bear crawl and 300-meter walk).

Mary: Too tired to do it.
Announcements: F3 Xmas party.
T-Claps (Recognition):  Any HIM that showed up for this beating for their first time: Shredder, Farva, Duece, LED, 2 Dollars, Sunshine, Banana Seat  Several guys have done it twice:  Maybeline, Nemo, and Lipstick  Guys who have done it three times. Breach, Cupid, and YHC.
Prayer: Tough times during the holiday season for many men and families. Reach out.

SEVEN is your lucky number

Trotting the Boulder Bases

Diamond Rio at Possum Trot

FNGs: None

Warm Up: Good mornings, Side Straddle Hops, Windmills, Imperial Walkers, Sir Fazio Arm Circles, Seal Claps

The Workout: 4 HIM moseyed to the rocks, grabbed our pick of the litter to play a game YHC calls Boulder Bases. Along the road surrounding the tennis courts, we started at one corner (1st base) doing rock exercises of 10 overheads, 10 triceps, 10 squats, and 10 curls for the girls. Rifle carried our rocks to 2nd base and dropped them before doing non-rock exercises at each base (20 plank jacks at 2nd base, add 15 Merkins at 3rd base, add 10 side straddle hops at “home plate,” and add 5 burpees at 1st base) before returning to 2nd base to do another round of rock exercises. Then we rifle carried the rocks to 3rd base. We carried on this routine until we could get the rocks to home plate. We changed up the non-rock exercises throughout, but kept the same structure of 20 reps, +15 reps, +10 reps, +5 burpees. At Home Plate, Diamond Rio’s 90’s hit song Nowhere Bound was played on repeat the entire workout because…why not?

Headed downhill on the parking lot, we did 2 Peter Parkers to a lunge before shuffling to the other side of the parking lot to do the same on that side. 28 Peter Parker lunges in total.

Moseyed up to the starting spot where cinder blocks, a sledge hammer, and an ab roller were waiting for us. We split into 1s and 2s. 1s worked toward an individual total of 50 Curls for the Girls, 50 Shoulder Press, 50 Ruh rows, 50 Sledgehammer squats and 50 Norma Jean Riley’s (ab rolling). 2s ran to the other side of the parking lot to do 5 burpees and 10 WWIIs before running back to the 1s. 1s and 2s exchanged spots until each got to their 50 reps in.

Cletus – Spontaneous Q

EC: LED, Woody, Yogurt. Arrived at 5 am fully expecting to see Breach and his truck full of toys. Oh, he’ll be here for the main event. His pre-blast indicated he was ready to go and bringing coupons. Surely he’ll be here for he main event! OK, 5:30 rolls around–no Breach! I love Q-ing at Cletus, so here goes?
Warm Up: Mosey to top of Ivan lot. Circle up for 50 SSHs, series of arm circles (front, back, seal claps, overhead, chinooks). Gillette rolled in just a minute late, so we all did five burpees OYO. Thanks Gillette, I like burpees.

The Workout: Mosey to amphitheater and the ledge. Lined up for derkins in an Indian Run formation. That is, everybody plank up in derkin position, tight to one end. The phrase “tighten up” triggered the human jukebox–Arthur Fonzarelli (Fonzie) to sing “Tighten Up” by Archie Bell and the Drells–nice! The “Indian” does five merkins, calling them out. Then, runs to head of the line. Cycle through til each PAX had done three rounds. Additional round including step ups and dips. This took a while.

OK, let’s do the same formation, but with balls to the wall (BTW) and preacher’s chair. We went all the way around the back wall of the amphitheater twice. This took a while. But, on the second round of BTW, the wall shifted and we stopped that exercise.

Mosey to the playground. Time for a mini-Murph. Partner up for accountability. Partners do five pullups together, then do 15 merkins together. Next, partners for five pullups together, then do 20 squats together. We continued for as many rounds as possible until 6 minutes before end of workout.

Mosey to pickleball courts with radar guns for Mary

Mary: Popcorn Mary
Announcements: F3 picnic; Expect to see Dr. Ryan next Friday (6/24/22), a Spartan racer that Cupid, Gillette, and I head-locked. Woody rolled by and said, “Never not head-locking”!
Prayer: Stubs and family, 3-Alarm full recovery

Disney 6/16

4 Pax took on the terrain that is Disney  (LED, Best in Show, Abacus and Breach on the Q)

Warm Up: Mosey around the soccer field and then circle up for 22 count exercises of Imperial Walkers, Good Mornings, and SSH.

The Workout: Mosey over to the abyss for some crawl bear to the bottom and then bear crawl back up, performing 11 merkins and the bottom and 11 Pickle pounders at the top, rinse and repeat for another round to equal (22) of each exercise. Mosey back to the soccer fields for some Crab Walk Soccer. The team that gets scored on had to do 10 Homers to marges, then with one leg up then the other, so it pays to be a winner. Turns out that a kickball is not the best choice for this type of event, but we made it work. We needed to take a lap around the field in the middle to give our shoulders a break.

We wrapped with 22 merkins with a ball pass around the square.

Mary: Circled up for 22 counts of Heel taps, dying cockroaches, and hello dollys

Announcements: F3 picnic on July 30th at Harris Lake

Red October’s Little Blue Boombox and Puddles

FNGs: 0
Warm Up: Joined up with Mutiny for a warm-up by Banana Seat https://f3southwake.com/2022/06/13/f-n-g/

The Workout:

While the counts and order of workouts didn’t always stay the same – the general intention was to complete the circuit and start over again as time allowed.  YHC often counted to 9 instead of 10.  Remembered the speaker but left the phone in the car.  Generally, I find Qing kettle bell workouts a little stressful but at one point through this Puddles said “Well I’m sweating!” which made all the difference.

  • Overhead press (10 each arm)
  • Swings (10 each arm)
  • Step-ups with bells (10 each leg)
  • Skull Crushers (15)
  • American Hammers (15)
  • Figure 8s (15)
  • Tricep Extensions (15)
  • Lap Around the field
  • Start back at the top and repeato 3x through the course of the workout

Mary: Low Slow Flutters, Homer to Marge, Dying Cockroach, Supermans, and Captain Thor (thanks BS)
