Tennis at the trot

FNGs: None

Warm Up: Nice mosey around the tennis court stoping at each parking lot light to do a prescribed exercise.  Along the way we divided into 1’s and 2’s and picked up our coupon (rock) to use over at the hill.
The Workout:

At the hill 1’s and 2’s partnered up to do circuit exercises.  Going up the hill one partner would do a rock climber (bear crawl with rock) at the top we did in sets of 10, 15, 20, and 25 Dips, Irkins, Tricep Ext, and curls for the girls.  Partner at the bottom was doing Mountain climbers, Monkey Humpers, Marionettes, and then Mexican Jumping beans.

After much mumblechatter and @Redenbacher almost loosing a leg from a falling rock down the hill we moved over to the tennis courts for a little game of F3 Tennis.  Rules: ball can only bounce once on your side, player bounce player not player bounce bounce, serve has to make it over net from the back rectangle, opposing team gave prescribed exercise if the team got a penalty.  Playing to 10.
Mary: We did Low slow flutter, boxcutters, E2Ks, boat canoes, and pickle pounders (to get ready for Father’s Day of course)
Announcements: June 26th F3 picnic at Harris Lake, June 12th SIHP bed build, Memorial Day Murph, Red shirts on Friday
T-Claps (Recognition):
Prayer: Remember Heidi battling cancer, 16-bit’s mom in law diagnosed with breast cancer, Laettner recovering from sickness, and Martini kidney stones.

FNGs: Welcome (Wilson Robertson) Drum Circle! He went to App State and said it was a pretty groovy experience..  Thanks for bringing  him out Fonzie.

YHC made my inaugural Q at TBD so I wanted to make sure PAX got their money worth on this fine Wednesday morning in the gloom.  Seven of us headed out for Extra Credit with great pick ups of the 6 along the way. Returned to the flag for about 10 more PAX ready to get after it. Fonzie let me know we had an FNG so I laid down the disclaimer and off we went.

Inspired by Billy Madison’s journey through back through school, this routine involves a running loop and exercise per grade. Begin with a loop (to simulate the grade) followed by an exercise with 12 reps as the exam. This concludes 1st grade. Run the loop again, followed by the 1st grade exercise x 12 reps plus a new exercise x 12 reps. This concludes 2nd grade. FNGs:  Welcome Jukebox, future patrolman who loves to sing.  Thanks for bringing this young man out Pumpkin Spice.  Good to see your college basketball playing, former HS Hawk XC star, Cobbler, out to the gloom too.
Warm Up:  many PAX participated in VC.  Bike ride +10 miles.  PAX moist.
The Workout:  YOGA, much needed.  Look, I will simply attach a pic of the movements we executed.  Special thanks to Cancun who provided the play by play and color commentary of all the moves attempted.  I tried finding the prisoner terminology he used on this sheet I downloaded from the internet but was unable to locate the verbiage.  I will defer to Cancun for his intimate experiences.  Quite flexible for a 6’4” 260 pound dude.  Awesome.  The much anticipated spread Eagle was executed flawlessly by many.  Only a few PAX let out some flatulence.
Mary:  lots of stretching, balance stuff.  Full 45 mins of pure awesomeness IMO.
Announcements:  CSAUP, Murph, bed build, 5Ks, see Slack/FB
T-Claps (Recognition):  Happy Birthday Cancun!  All PAX killing it during May challenge.  Remember to listen to your body and REST.
Prayer:  Interrupted by geese, goslings and churlish children, YHC chided them and finished up in thoughtful, loving prayers only a seasoned parent could pull off.

Sheepdog VS Kung Pow

YHC hasn’t been to Sheepdog in a while and as I thought through my pre-blast I landed on my typical adversarial AO messaging to stoke some fires and get a little attention.  In my mind, it was only natural to pit Sheepdog (a martial arts founded AO) against the oriental-sounding Kung Pow AO.  I fired off a spicy pre-blast, got the side-eye from Deadbolt and a shot from POTS (the scheduled Q of the one-day/UTI nominated nemesis of Sheepdog.)  SUCCESS!!! Now, POTS fired back/commented/assumed if there was to be a martial arts Q by YHC, Shredder would need to be on hand to lead the PAX.  An often forgotten (by me) and seldom shared fact about YHC is that I am a 3rd Degree Brown Belt in Tae Kwon Do.  Granted, my last practice of this craft would have been 25 years ago.  Oh well, this will be fun – let’s see what I can shake out of my head from the past\movies\tv.

Reach out and touch someone (old AT&T slogan)

During announcements I closed encouraging everyone to reach out to someone within F3 that may be dealing with an injury or just flat out hasn’t posted to an AO in a while.  I told Saturday’s U-Turn PAX during the month of April I was personally dealing with a toe sprain and I hadn’t posted nearly as much as I would’ve liked to.  Weekends are usually my only time to post at all during the week and I had missed U-Turn and AGS for 2 weeks straight.  It didn’t take long for me to feel disconnected and somewhat distant from my fellow F3 brothers  (both because I hadn’t seen anyone in a while and I had also lost some of my stamina/endurance).  I can only imagine how a long term injury or a long period of time off (for whatever reason) may lead to a PAX feeling embarrassed or shameful to come back and post.  Although we would never shame anyone and we always welcome any man to any workout at anytime I feel its important that we make an effort to reach out to a fellow F3 member that we know is injured, dealing with another issue, or just haven’t seen in a while.  Sometimes a little encouragement can go a long way.

FNGs: none today

Warm Up: quick mosey, 10x Windmills, 10x Daisy Pickers, 10x Imperial Walkers, 10x Frankensteins, 25x-30x Merkins

The Workout: standard U-Turn in reverse (6mi option or 3mi option).  By far an easier route than standard U-Turn due to less hills/elevation.

Mary: ran outta time

Announcements: congrats to Sprinkler’s son graduating high-school!  Upcoming Grasshopper 5K run, 5K walk, & 1mi fun run benefiting Sergeant Rick Leach Sat June 12 here in Holly Springs.  Bed build June 12th.  May challenge continues…

Multiple prayers, including healing for a nephew’s child, a parent with COVID symptoms, and travelling families.
UTI took us out.

Naked Moleskin:
Womble is a lot darker in the morning than in the evening! We hung out in the well-lit parking lot until things started to get brighter.
During the workout I learned that Cletus is named after the character in the Eddie Murphy Nutty Professor movies, not the character from the Simpsons.
YHC was feeling the generation gap with some mumble chatter about FloJo. PAX knew the Sir Mix a Lot reference but didn’t know whom he was referencing.
Using rocks/blocks in Mary has been a nice switch up.
Offsite coffeeteria was nice, once I was sure I hadn’t gotten lost on the way.
Nice group of guys, hope to see more of South Wake in the future!
This was my thirty-fourth #F3Q21 #2021Challenge Q. Next Q is Monday at Garner Station in…uh… Garner.

Crop-duster aka the Toot-n-Scoot

FNGs: None

EC: Norm, Red, Sprinkler, Katniss, POTS, Gamecock

Warm Up: Good mornings, Willie mays haze, Imperial walkers, Hillbillies, SSH, Sir Fazio arm circles

The Workout:

Part 1: Wheel of Misfortune.

Circle up with one PAX in the middle. The PAX on the outside are assigned an AMRAP exercise, and the PAX in the middle acts as the timer and does 10 burpees. Once he’s done, rotate to the next station with the top of the circle coming into the center for his turn at burpees. We made three rotations. Outside exercises were: Sumo squats, Shoulder taps, High knees, Angle grinder, Daft Punk (Around the world lunges), and Crab Cakes.

Part 2: Next Man Up, Crop-duster style

One PAX calls a terrible exercise for the rest of the group then heads off. PAX that called the exercise then “bones the fish” side-shuffling along the parking space lines moving up the parking lot then mosey back.  Rotate and the next man up calls an exercise then leaves. There was revenge, cruelty, anticipation, and way too many burpees.

Mary: There was enough Mary in Part 2.

Announcements: FV 4 mi and bible study black ops on Wednesday, Tequila Sunrise on Saturday

T-Claps (Recognition): All the visitors to KG!

Prayer: Local family with losses in the family, Martini, Praise for Sprinkler and POTS’s kids graduating
