It’s been a long time since YHC and Pikachu co-Q’ed a workout together so we figured we give it a shot. Some mumble chatter about how many miles we were going to get in.

EC: Emeril, Dawgpound, Warbucks, Full House, Pablo, UTI, Skidmark, 187 (a little late)

Fartsacks: Mookie with the HC last night. Much like the Patriots last night he didn’t show up.

FNGs: None
Warm Up: 1 lap around with SSHsx10, Good Mornings x 10, IW x 10, Hillbillies x 10.
The Workout: Indian Run Merkin Mile with 12 merkins every quarter mile.

Switch off to Pikachu:

We did some running backwards up the ramp with a variety of exercises at the top including squats, Step-ups, box jumps, Russian Dips. 1 time we did a bear crawl up the ramp. Made our way around the park and did a set of Erkins, Derkins, Dips.

Hallelujah Suicides

Had 5 strong PAX put in in hard work this morning at Disney. We all definitely got our money’s worth.

Warm Up: Lap, 10 burpees OYO, toe touch (10 second count x 2), daisy pickers x 11, SSH IC x 31, good mornings x 11

The Workout: Hallelujah Suicides…

YHC had PAX lineup on one end of the soccer field for suicide ladders. Running from line to line was done with arms lifted overhead, hallelujah style. Each time we reached a line we did an exercise increasing in reps each line. At each return to the start line we did 3 burpees. Once you got to the far side of the field, 50 mountain climbers and hold plank for 6. We did 3 rounds, up and back for each round, of the following exercises:

Round 1: Peeping lipsticks x 5, merkins x 10, monkey humpers x 15 (repeat)

Round 2: Squat jumps x 5, diamond merkins x 10, Lunges x 15 each leg (repeat)

Round 3: Happy jacks x 5, Wide-Arm merkins x 10, squats x 15 (repeat)

Ended with a cool down lap.

Pick up the Q this week for TBD, had not done a Q at womble for a while. Rolled in at 5:23 to see a crowd had already gathered. We were 11 strong after Aquaman checked for FNG’s we were of.,

The Workout:
Thang 1:  From Warm-up completed the lap around the field to the small picnic shelter and from some Partner Work, Dora 123, 100 Step Up’s, 200 LBC’s,300 Freddy Mercuries
Thank 2: Mosey’d to the Playground for 2 sets of 11’s from the playground to the path, Monkey Humbers and Star Jumps, the Hillbillys and Squats
Thang 3: Mosey’d to the large shelter, split with one partner on the wall did 10 count BTTW and Erkens for other partner switch partners, then 15 count Peoples Chair with Dips, switch 10 counts BTTW, with Derkins, then 15 count peoples chair and dips again and switch.

Mary: Started with Homer to marge, the went around the circle, I let it get a little squirley here, but it reigned in, we cover almost all of the standard mary exercises and some burpees.

NMS: An honor to lead, it does not seem so long ago that I could not run for a whole workout, much less lead one. My days are always better when I work out with F3. I will continue to push myself, and you men keep me motivated.

Slow on the Rocks

I was back on Q after a couple months of a strong rotation of others stepping up to lead the Downtown Train. Always a small but strong group showing up and ready to work.

EC was The Natural, Full House and Nemo for a 2+ mile loop down and around Womble and back.

FNGs: None
Warm Up: We warmed up, usual lap, usual exercises.
The Workout: We worked out.  Got rocks, lifted them, did exercises and runs between sets. Hit the biceps pretty hard with some decent mumble chatter along the way.  Broke things up with a “recover” on the sets of SSH and LBC.  Nemo always like to work in some good SSH sets. We did most of the rock work IC so the rep count was high and slow with a focus on form.
Mary: We did some ab exercises. A couple quick sets Homer to Marge, Six Hold, Low Slow Flutters, Six Hold again and finish with LBC.

T-Claps (Recognition): Was great to have Full House take par in his first Downtown Train and to run with him for EC, and Flanigan for showing up and working hard despite a stub toe incident in the early hours of the morning. Also, to Sprinkler for stepping up at Mutiny this morning – his first ever F3 post was at Downtown Train a couple months ago and great to hear he has been such a positive force.
Prayer: All unspoken so we took a silent 10 count then YHC took us out.

The Workout:

Circle up for pass the bell – 50lb bell gets passed around a tight circl with pax in squat hold. When the bell gets to you you overhead press it once. We went counter clock wise.

Parnter up based on kettle bell weight and mosey to the end of the parking lot with one bell per pair

Modified beep test
Start at end of lot
Partner 1 does KB swings
Partner 2 sprints to end of lot and back
Swap and repeat
First round – 80% max speed (your partner’s swings should give you a judgement on if you’re speeding up as we keep going)
5x Yurpees – thank Emeril for digging this one out of the exicon. It’s a burpee with a clap merkin at the bottom and two tuck jumps at the top instead of the jump clap

Repeato sprints – second round 90% speed
3x Yurpees
Plank hold IC x20
Third round – 100% speed

Circle up for pass the bell again – this time clock wise

Mosey down to amphitheater with one bell per pair (apparently some confusion here…..)
Drop bells on amphitheater and get into the grass for an experiment

Groups of 3 – barrel rolls while chopping feet. This went very poorly. Emeril almost took Dawgpound out at the knees in our group. Some groups were too chicken to get grass on them. Either way, this one can go away to never come back. As Dawgpound said later “we aren’t coordinated enough for that”.

POTS Virgin Q

13 for a veteran beatdown from the virgin POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service, for some history).  Very little mumblechatter at this one…..

FNGs: None in sight, unless you count Dauber making his TBD debut.

The Workout:

  1. 4 Corners around the parking lot:

1st round with 15 Reps of Standard Merkins, Wide Merkins, Diamond Merkins, Hand release Merkins (OYO).

2nd round with 15 Reps of Standard Merkins, LBC’s, Diamond Merkins, Hand release Merkins (OYO).

3rd round with 15 Reps of Standard Merkins, LBC’s, Prisoner Squats, Hand release Merkins (OYO).

4th round with 15 Reps of Standard Merkins, LBC’s, Prisoner Squats, Mountain Climbers (OYO).

5th round with 15 Reps of Shoulder taps, LBC’s, Prisoner Squats, Mountain Climbers (OYO).

All 5 rounds included Lunges on the short stretches between the corners and sprints on the long stretches between the corners.

Squat hold for the six at end of every round.

  1. Moseyed to Picnic Pavilion, paired up;

1st round Partner 1 Balls to the Wall. Partner 2 irkins (15), partners switched.

2nd round Partner 1 Balls to the Wall. Partner 2 derkins (15), partners switched.

3rd round Partner 1 Balls to the Wall. Partner 2 dips (15), Partners switched.

Mary:  Mary-o-rama featuring burpees, indefinite plank holds, break dancing, and sailing, among others.  Just when we thought it was over, POTS added more burpees for good measure.

Buckets of Fun

YHC arrived a few minutes early to set-up. A quick mosey to the loading dock and filled up buckets with rocks for later and returned to find Axe. 187 shows up and we’re off for EC. 187 said he was going to push his pace on the EC route and off he went. Axe and I saw him back at the flag where he was showing off his shiny crown to Pikachu. 0530 hit and YHC gave a quick disclaimer for FNG Matt and we were off. YHC misspoke during the disclaimer and told him to modify and not hurt us. Turns out this was accurate as he is a martial arts instructor in his spare time.

2 rounds were done and shoulders were burning, so we mosey’d over to the loading dock.

PAX split into 2 groups (3 and 4).
Group 1 grabbed a heavy rock filled bucket and carried it around Jiffy Lube while Group 2 worked through BOMBS exercises. We started at 10 for round 1, decreasing 1 rep each round down to 5.

Rocks were returned and we headed to the guardrail behind JL.

Staying in groups, Group 1 does AMRAP of exercise while Group 2 carried a bucket in front with straight arms around jiffy lube / flapjack until done.

Warm Up: We were greeted before the workout by a lady who was closing the parking lot for a funeral that would be occurring later in the morning. We assured her we would be done and gone well before the funeral and she kindly let us stay.
Regular warm up jog followed by SSH (15), Imperial Walkers (15), Hill Billies (15) and Sir Fazio Arm Circles (10 forward, hold 10, 10 backward).
The Workout: Pax were instructed to get a medium-sized rock and meet at the amphitheater. Curls for the girls (15), triceps (15), Bus Drivers (15) and Ground Pounders (15). Jog around the library and back for Urkins (15), Durkins (15) and Dips (15). Rinse and repeat through both one more time and returned rocks. Back for Mary.
Mary: Quiver inspired me (in one of his Qs) to do a bit of yoga. So we ran through some reaches for the sky, reaches for the ground, downward dog, cobra pose and runner’s stretch.
On to more traditional Mary with Homer 2 Marge (15), LBCs (15), Pickle Pounders (15), American Hammers (15).

First Chill of the Season

YHC arrived to a chilly empty parking lot at 0505. I was quickly approached by a guy holding what looked like a crow bar at first. I kept my car running JIC. He explained that he had a flat and his phone was dead. Poor guy needed some help so I gave him a quick charge and he made a call on my phone for assistance. Warbucks and I were ready for a double down of old school vs. new school U-turn routes. Martini pulled in a couple mins before taking off to start his solo run. Feet started moving at 0516 so we could get back in time for 0600 warm ups. We arrived with about 2 mins to spare. Thanks for holding my hand Warbucks since I forgot my gloves.

The Workout:
Running: Anywhere from 3 miles to 11 miles. Picking up the 6 was strong today as the 5 mile group all finished together.

Recover on the Burpee

Warm Up:Mosey to Ivan lot then a few of the regs. SSH……
The Workout:Partner up. 100 burpees, 200 Merkins, 300 LBCs while the other runs at 5K finishing pace around the lot. Once all were finished we ran 400ish meters (1/2 way around soccer fields) at 100%, stop and do 20 merkins, then 400 meter cool down. Rinse and repeat 3X before it was time for Mary.
Mary:Low slow flutter x20 right into box cutters x20 right into protractors feet never touching the ground. Flip over for 20 hand release merkins then back on the six to finish off with YHCs favorite….Boat Canoes!!!
