First time back in a bit…

First time back at the helm in a bit and it felt great to be in the middle leading again. Awesome small numbers to test something simple and effective. Nobody for EC so I took off, came home to find Abe getting ready and UTI showed up 5:28:55am. Let’s go.

FNGs: None.
Warm Up: Mosey to the end of the lot, 43 SSH IC, Daisy Pickers slow 10 IC, Willy Mays Hayes, OHC 10, Seal Clap 10, Sir Fazio F/B.
The Workout:

  1. Mosey down to the greenway trail – 5k pace at pole to pole along the long side of the fields, sprint the short side, 5k, sprint repeato back to plank hold at the playground. Regroup.
  2.  Mosey to the small hill by the ball fields. 11’s on the hill, star jumps at the bottom assisted squats on the fence at the top (slow tempo down).
  3. Mosey up and around to the hand rail along the opposite field. 2 sets of 4 pull ups, 4 count up, 4 count down = 1. Followed by 2 sets of 5.
  4. Mosey to the shelter by the playground. If we had even numbers we would have done what’s being called the Yogi & BooBoo, but we did them solo. Downward dog position in front of a Pic-i-nic table. 1, 2 is up to the seat, 3,4 up to the table top and down 1,2 & 3,4 = 1. 3 sets of 10 + 5 more.  If we had the even numbers, the idea would be that one PAX holds the ankles of the other up. Yogi & BooBoo’s.

Mary: Mosey to the Ivan lot and 3 of us did Mary. Boat/Canoe, Protractor sesh… This sucked, popcorn plank-o-rama. FIN.
Announcements: Hollyfest still needs signups. See slack.

Lucky 7 at Downtown Train

FNGs: None

PAX: U.T.I, Wallaby, Abe, Quiver, Wild Turkey, Warbucks, Kosher

Warm Up: SSH x 20, Burpees OYO x 5, Windmills x 10, Sir Fazio Arm Circles x10 each way, Seal Claps x 10, Overhead Seal Clap x10

The Workout:

PAX lined up single file and performed an Indian run from the starting point over to the Block on Main.

Once we arrived at the Block on Main, we went down to the outdoor amphitheater area by the large set of steps and paired up. YHC joined Wild Turkey and Warbucks as the 3rd wheel since we had an odd number. Partner #1 completed a lap around the Block on Main while Partner #2 completed exercises. We did two rounds of this consisting of:

Round 1: Dips x 25, Squats until partner returns

Round 2: Derkins, Urkins

PAX lined back up single file and kept the Indian runs going from the Block on Main to the rock pile near the library circle. YHC should have planned this better as there were many obstacles i.e. trees, poles, tables, etc. along the sidewalk in front of the downtown businesses that made the Indian run line a little less than straight.

Once we arrived at the rock pile, YHC informed PAX to grab a medium/large rock that was comfortable enough to do exercises with while also being a challenge. Once all PAX had selected their coupon of choice, we moseyed to the parking lot behind the library. We once again partnered up and did a round of exercises with rocks, followed by a fast lap around the parking lot. Once PAX returned to the starting point, they switched exercises and completed another lap before moving on to the next round. Rounds consisted of:

Round 1: Overhead press x20, Wonderbras x20

Round 2: Tricep extension x20, Goblet squat x20

Round 3: Skull crushers x20, Low slow flutter x20

Round 4: American hammers x20 IC, WW2 x 20 with rock

Round 5: Partner 1 placed a rock on top of Partner 2’s back. Partner 2 performed plank hold while Partner 1 completed a lap, then switched.

Once all rounds were complete, we made our way back to the rock pile while performing various exercises along the way. These included Curls for the Girls, Overhead Press, and Walking Lunges.

Once rocks were returned, we headed back to the flag for Mary.

Mary:

LBCs, Box Cutters, Homer to Marge, Freddie Mercury, Have a Nice Day

Military and first responders, those dealing with and recovering from COVID.

YHC took us out.

Wally World is closed… Let’s bring the Woody to Cletus!

EC: Kosher and YHC – we got lined up with some of the PAX from Ivan.  Good work by Kosher applying the headlock to get me out for EC.

Through all of my tagging and marketing the night before I snagged very few of my intended targets.  Thankfully, I secured some reliable PAX that showed up for the beat down – at COT I promised to include them in future campaigns.  Apparently, 1 PAX was brought in by my powers of persuasion…  WOODY!!!  Although, he didn’t seem super excited about it “It’s supposed to be my rest day!”, he mentioned more than once in the gloom.

YHC is rarely around on Fridays and they are typically my rest days as well (among others) but I was in the Springs and saw a call earlier in the week from Abe about Qs for Cletus.  LET’S GO!!!  Abe’s pre-blast before I secured the Q-spot promised no leg work.  I BRR’d last weekend so why not take it easy on the legs and keep that pre-blast somewhat honest.  On arrival from Flojo and Hardy, they seemed keen on having me keep that promise.  Good thing, the plan was already settles…  Hope they like burpees!!!

FNGs: Nope

Warm Up:  Good Mornings, Fozio Arm Circles, Windmills, Imperial Walkers, Hillbillies

Mozy over to the bars along the path by the baseball fields and hung a right through the wooden fence between 2 of the fields.

  • Hardy kept lying about the count and attempting to trick the Q.
  • YHC is horrible at counting and prefers to have Excel do it for him under normal circumstances.
  • If the zombie apocalypse comes and math is somehow required to reverse it and/or survive – YHC will surly die.
  • Hardy is a good dude.

Cinder Blocks Seem Good On Paper

FNGs: none
Warm Up: Mosey around the soccer field, SSH x25, Good Mornings x10, Windmill x10, Fazio Arm Circles forward/backward x10, Seal Claps x10, Overhead Claps x10
The Workout: UTI reminded me that there was a stack of cinder blocks, stamped with the F3 logo, ready to go. I appreciate a good coupon workout, so I was down. Here’s how it went:

PAX were instructed to grab two cinder blocks each and meet at the triangle (entrance to parking lot loop). We started out with a simple set of exercises using one block: Curls for the Girls x10, Ruh Rohs x10, Squats x10. Then we farmer carried both cinder blocks from the top parking lot down to the stop sign. Recover. Back to the top. That sucked.

Back at the start, we did another set: Curls for the Girls x10, Ruh Rohs x10, Squats x10. This time, we jogged down to the stop sign. Recover. 10 Durkins off of the curb. Jog back to the top. That was a little too easy.

Again, did another set: Curls for the Girls x10, Ruh Rohs x10, Squats x10. This time, we mosied around the parking lot circle to the far side and lined up at the crosswalk. Bear crawl back to start. Just right.

PAX were instructed to farmer carry again, but this time returning their cinder blocks to their home. Then we mosied around the loop, stopping at the crosswalk. Bear crawl up to the picnic area. We did one round of urkins/durkins/dips (10 each), People’s Chair 10 count x3 and Balls to the Wall 10 count x3.
Mary: Popcorn Mary consisted of Low Slow Flutter x10, Homer to Marge x10 and LBCs x15. Finished up with some quick yoga.
Announcements: Travis Manion 9/11 Heroes Run
T-Claps (Recognition): Woody for getting back out in the gloom after a spell of crud. It’s not easy to get back in the groove, way to be!
Prayer: Bondo’s granddaughter for health and wife for travels.
Moleskin: We face different challenges in life that come in all different shapes and sizes. Today, it was those damn cinder block farmer carries. That was hard. When I first started with F3, it was just keeping up with the group, sucking wind and barely making it through. I realized early on that if I wanted to not suck at running I was going to have to embrace the suck and focus on that area for improvement. Challenges can help uncover areas in need of improvement. That might come in the form of running more to improve aerobic performance. It also might come in the form of relationships. Identify those areas that challenge you (that suck), meet them and develop solutions to overcome them.

AGS Run, Ruck & Dreams

FNGs: None
Warm Up:  Good mornings, Frankensteins, SSH. Sweaty PAX ran EC – nice work.
The Workout:  Pre blast called for a counter clockwise run around Bass Lake (~5 miles).  Still recovering from a knee issue, I opted to add a ruck (~3 mile).  Forceps rolled in three minutes late due to a dream which I heard and tried interpreting during our hike.  Sometimes it is better just to listen and take things all in stride (pun intended).  We saw the runners on Grigsby helping each out picking up the six. Lots of support and fellowship this morning
