Big Dogs at Downtown Train

Just like Vince Vaughn I spent the last week out of the gloom and eating a ton.  This morning I signed up to Q as a stake in the ground to set some things right that I had knowingly wronged through illness followed by some vacation.  11 men came out in support.

FNGs: nada

Warm Up: Windmills, Good Mornings, Imperial Walkers, Hillbillies, Frankensteins, SSHs

The Workout:

In the parking lot next to the book return

  • 11s featuring Mountain Climbers and Burpees with sprints in between.

At the community center stage – alternating with a partner

  • Balls 2 Walls / Fast Feet 10 count in cadence 3x each
  • Preachers Chair / Fast Feet 10 count in cadence 3x each

From the bottom of Library Hill – Sprint to the top

From the round-a-bout near the flag – Sprint to the Stop Sign near the barber shop

Downtown Train Arrived Before the Cold Spell

Warm Up:  Bleeder, Stickers and YHC for EC.  Then SSH, frankensteins, good mornings, Sir Fazios…probably some more 

The Workout:  Mosey to the hill by the dumpster for 7s of Star Jumps and Squat Jumps. 

Return to the starting point parking lot for standard merkins.  Mosey to the library for Carolina Dry Docks on the sidewalk curb.  Mosey to the other hill to the left of the parking garage for standard dips.

Repeato, repeato, repeato, but with some variations along the way:  Wide grip and Diamond Merkins, dips with alternating legs raised – threw in two sets of People’s Chair on the library wall, and at least one round of Bear Crawls at the library entrance. 

That’s about it.  Simple but effective mostly upper body workout.

Keep It Simple, Stupid

Warm Up: SSH, Good Mornings, Imperial Walkers, Hillbillies, Sir Fazio Arm Circles, Seal Claps, Overhead Claps
The Workout: Moseyed over to “that hill.” Directions were simple. Start at the bottom with WWIIs. Run to the halfway point for squats. Then run to the top for murkins. Started with 10 on each three. Then 20. Then 30. Then back down to 20 and then 10.

Next, we went over to the rock pile behind the stores. PAX retrieved two palm-sized rocks each. Exercises were Curls for the Girls, Triceps and Ruh Rows. To finish off, and in observance of Oktoberfest, PAX participated in a beer hoist F3 style. Hold the rocks out in front while calling out a 15 count all around. Returned rocks and moseyed back for Mary.

Urkins x 15 IC

Step ups on the lower wall x 15 each leg

THANG 2:

PAX moseyed to the rock pile where YHC instructed each PAX to grab two medium-sized rocks. We took these over to the parking lot adjacent to the rock pile and YHC instructed each PAX to put both rocks down at their feet on one end. We would then perform:

5 star jumps on one end

Cusack rock 1 to other end

1o WW2s

Mosey back to other end

5 more star jumps

Cusack rock 2 to other end

10 more WW2s

Round 2:

10 rock squats on one end

Lunge walk cusack rock 1 to the other end

Overhead press x 10 on one end

PAX returned rocks, then in honor of Abe, we bear crawled from the rock pile to the bridge by the picnic shelter. PAX then moseyed to the tennis court for Mary.
