Rnd 2 of Evening the Odds (Tigers Blood 8/4/21)

Even the Odds

FNGs: No F3 FNG’s but we had several new PAX try the challenge for the first time. (Pikachu, Bobby Bouche, Lipstick, Pots, Sprinkler, Full House, Fonzie, 187 and 8 Bit.
Warm Up: 400 m mosey lap, Several sets of various quad/hamstring/calf/glute stretches.
The Workout:  Explanation of how the workout works. Odd numbers have to be followed in exact sequence and even numbers are interchangeable.  I/C exercises, progress around the track or straight reps must be done without progressing forward. Ex. Walking along track is against the self imposed rules, you must perform the exercise to progress.  On the odd numbers you pick up the six (guys on even numbers) by help with reps or progress around the track. From the first time we did this the time was only 45 min.  This time we had a 70 min timer, no breaks built in.  I also added 2 more rounds for a total of 16. See “Even the Odds” link. Round count by PAX:  POTS > 4 , Maybeline > 9 , Pikachu > 9 , Cupid > 9 , Fonzie > 7, Full House > 10, Fanny Pack > 12 , 187 > 12, Mad Dog 20/20 > 9, Bobby Bouche > 8, Roger Roger > 7, 8 Bit > 6, Breach > 9, Lipstick > 9, Sprinkler > 7, FRAM > 9

Mary: None…too tired.
Announcements: Carpex Q swap and see slack
T-Claps (Recognition): The whole group who showed up knowingly, known but only by reputation or those unknowing souls that came to support other PAX.
Prayer:  Sickness, healing

The Blocks are No Longer Hidden

I love to Q at this place…just so much to do on the grounds of Disney! Apparently, we’ve recently had the addition of 20 cinder blocks as permanent fixtures to this AO that were cleverly hidden in a grove of trees. Well…today YHC pulled up to see that those trees had been cut back significantly, exposing our hiding place for the blocks. But, the blocks remained. YHC was unsure if he was going to use them, but was glad they were still there. At the end of the workout, all PAX jumped in to re-locate them to a more secure…hopefully undisturbed location for future use. 8 PAX travelled quite a bit throughout Disney covering nearly 2 miles today on their fast pass to fitness.

FNG’s: no
Warm Up: Good mornings IC x 22, followed by a mosey to the community center where we circled up for Frankensteins x 10 IC, Seal Claps, Sir Fazio’s (F/R), Overhead Claps all x12 IC.
The Workout: We moseyed to the back wall of the school for a quick 22 count of People’s Chair and Balls to the Wall IC.

We then moseyed over to the bowl for Dirkins, Step-Ups, Irkins, and Dips…in that order, x 10 for round 1, x 15 for round 2.

We then quickly moseyed over to the “L” and partnered up. To run the “L”, one partner went up the hill toward the library stop sign to do 11 Star Jumps, while the other ran toward the hill at the elementary school to do 7 WW1’s. When partners returned to meet in the middle, they did Patty Cake Merkins, starting with 3 and getting the count up to 8 before stopping. Each time partners met and did the exercise they would travel opposite directions.

We then did an Indian Run all the way back to the flag for some Mary.
Mary: Mary was kind of Mary, and kind of not. Everyone grabbed a cinder block for Mary. It consisted of: LBC x 22IC, 22 Chest Press w/block, 7 Blockees (block burpees), LSF x 17 IC, 17 Chest Press w/block, 6 Blockees, Dying Cockroach x13, 13 Chest Press w/Block, 5 blockees, 10 American Hammers x10 IC, 10 Chest Presses, 4 blockees, 7 Pickle Pounders IC, 7 Block Presses, 3 blockees, 5 Superman’s on the Up and Down, 5 Block Presses, 2 blockees, 3 Absolutions, 3 Block Presses, 1 blockee to finish. Have a nice day!
Announcements: Q Swap next week! Disney is a site!
T-Claps (Recognition): Dahmer and POTS for getting all in that bush finding a new hiding place for our blocks!
Prayer: Unspoken. YHC took us out!

Y’all Busted My Rock!!!

A humid day down in the valley known as Possum Trot. 7 HIM gathered to be sure that nobody was alone or got left behind. We made some noise with the sledgehammer, somebody broke the rock POTS was using and he got salty, Sprinkler made some “noise” during COT, and we took the hill together several times.

FNG’s: nopes
Warm Up: SSH x 40 IC, Windmills, Seal Claps, and Overhead Claps x 7 IC, Imperial Walkers and Hillbillies x 10 IC, 22 Squats.
The Workout: A quick mosey for all PAX to grab a rock of choice and a short Cusack up to the entrance end of the lot to circle up for Shoulder Press x 15 and Merkins x 15. There were 3 stations in the rotation for the day: rock circle, tire flip & sledge, run the hill with 10 Merkins.

The rock circle continued with all PAX counting out 15 counts of any rock or ground exercise of choice. Partners would rotate out to either flip the tire/sledgehammer together or run the hill with Merkins. At no time, was any man supposed to be alone in a spot…because that’s what we do in F3. There was a constant rotation during this activity and no brains were bashed in as tires were flipped and hammers were swung. So, that’s nice.

All circle exercises included (sometimes several rounds), but not limited to: Merkins, American Hammers, Should Press, Curls for the Girls, Tricep Extensions, Squats, Rut-Rows, WW1’s, LSF, Homer to Marge, Burpees, Star Jumps, Ground Pounders, and more!
Mary: After putting our toys away we moseyed to the tennis courts for a Bear-Crawl/Sprint Back series we did 3 times in decreasing distances.  Finished with 22 counts of the following for Mary: LSF’s, LBC’s, Dying Cockroach, Homer to Marge, and Superman’s.
Announcements: Q Swap next week. CarPex guest Q’s will join us, but all AO’s remain open!
T-Claps (Recognition):
Prayer: Banana Seat daughter Ella receiving some medical treatments that are needed (prayer and praise). Our military, first responders, leaders, spoken and unspoken. Honor to lead at the OG SouthWake AO.

Everything but the Tire

YHC took the Q at Prison Yard as part of his self-imposed accountability to get out a bunch this week because…I’m fully healthy again and the body is cooperating, so no excuses! Lots of toys on the Yard today sponsored by YHC, Breach, and Sprinkler and we got to touch just about everything. YHC had a different plan in mind originally, but about 2 mins. before warm-ups, I changed my mind to challenge the “you vs. you” factor. Right now, there’s a lot of items that can be used on the Yard…concrete slabs of different sizes, bricks, pipes, parking signs, steel rebar… they are apparently doing some renovations at Hilltop Needmore. If YHC had known or had enough time to survey, I would’ve told the guys to keep it in the trucks and use what’s here. 12 Strong HIM posted for a mostly quiet battle against the self at Prison Yard today.

FNG’s: No new transfers
Warm Up: SSH x 35 IC, Good Morning’s x15 IC, Sir Fazio’s x 10 IC F/R, Merkins x 22.
The Workout: 14 total stations, 12 of which were set to be 100 rep count stations. The other two were quasi obstacle course style using Farmer’s Carry w/tractor weights, heavy bag carry or Railroad Iron Press x 20, an agility challenge (either ladder or burpee cones) and 1-2’s with the hand weights.

The other 12 stations for 100 reps goal count were: 25 lb. plate Halos, 25 lb. plate Bus Drivers, 45 lb. dumbbell triceps extensions, 15 lb. steel mace warrior squat, 20 lb. kettlebell Midget Cookie Pouch, 25 lb. kettlebell snatches, 40 lb. kettlebell swings, Pain Stick Shoulder Press, Pain Stick Curls for the Girls, Fire Hose Squats, and Blockees.

We did not take accountability counts at the end, but YHC got 7 full-stations, with 75 reps at 2 others. So for next time we do this, remember what you did, and do just a little bit more. I will add that YHC did not do the blockees, which I think was the beast of all the stations most likely.
Mary: Put the toys back into vehicles.
Announcements: Q Swap at Carpex in 2 weeks. Still a spot open at Ragnarok. Carpex Q’s come to us next week…get ready!
T-Claps (Recognition): Thanks Breach and Sprinkler for providing lots of coupons to use today!
Prayer: Those addicted…lots of OD calls to EMS these days right here in our community. Fram and his daughter reading…a praise!!! YHC celebrates 19 years of marriage…it takes work! YHC took us out…great to be back in the circle!

Good Things Take Hard Work

YHC is seriously trying to come back from a variety of injuries that have plagued my body the last 8 weeks or so and…I’m pretty far back on BRR training, so when I Q, the PAX are along the ride with me to make these last 7 weeks count in my training for BRR. No better way to do that than hit the ramp at Ting for some repeats. In addition, YHC is celebrating 19 years of marriage to my wonderful wife today. 16 PAX came to celebrate the value of hard work to strengthen their bodies today on the grounds of Paradise City. Message for the day as well…it takes hard work to build a strong marriage as well. Don’t forget to put the work in with your M’s…and don’t mentally/emotionally fartsack when it counts!

FNG’s: None
Warm Up: A mosey down the long end of the main lot followed by Windmills x 10 IC, Frankensteins x10 IC, and Imperial Walkers x 10 IC. Another mosey down to the other end for Sir Fazio’s x 10 IC F/R and Hillbillies x 10 IC.
The Workout: Counted off by 3’s. 3 Indian Run lines would run the ramp/tennis court loop until 19 “indians” got to the front of the line. All groups stopped generally at the same spot when finished. We proceeded to do 19 Prisoner Squats and 19 Shoulder Taps IC. Same Indian Run lines back the other way, again, waiting to get 19 “indians” to the front of the line before stopping back by the cars. Comments were made to quit the workout there and go grab coffee. We did 19 SSH IC and 19 Mountain Climbers IC before moseying back to the bottom of the ramp.

We would run the ramp for the remainder of time. At the bottom, it would be Merkins starting at 1. At the top, it would be Step-Ups on the wall starting at 2. Going up the ramp, PAX were supposed to go between 80-100%, and a mosey back down the ramp. We went all the way to 19…stacking up odd numbers at the bottom, and even numbers at the top. Those finishing first, did what we do, they found a 6 and finished out with them. With only 4 minutes to go, YHC asked about mileage. God forbid, we don’t get our 3 miles. 2 of 3 PAX shared over 3 mile readings (other idea was 4 mins. of Indian runs), so we headed back for Mary.
Mary: 19 WW2’s and some were pissed that I finished 30 seconds early.
Announcements: Q Swap with Carpex begins next week. They come to us for a featured guest workout at 1 site each day (2 on Wednesday).
T-Claps (Recognition): Thanks to Pikachu, 187, Laettner, and Full House…all faster than me…for help getting me some low times for me on EC.
Prayer: Two kids in our community, battling illness. Our marriages and the strength, patience, and passion to nurture them. It was really nice to be at the helm again today…thanks for being there fellas!

1776 – Celebration of Freedom

There are lots of ways one might choose to celebrate the freedom that we so often take for granted. The F3 way is to have a brutal beatdown that serves as a reminder that freedom isn’t free – it was purchased and preserved by countless patriots who made the ultimate sacrifice.

“There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” – John 15:13 (NLT)

YHC is truly grateful for my F3 brothers who push me to become a better version of myself – physically, mentally, and spiritually. Thanks for the push to get through the 1,776 reps! Keep up the great work HIM and keep pushing each other!

Arms Beatdown

FNGs: None
Warm Up: Seal claps, Overhead claps, Daisy pickers, and SSH

The Workout:

This was advertised as a little-to-no running workout, and as a true man of my word, PAX got an arms beatdown.

PAX moseyed to the rock pile behind the dumpster and each chose a suitable medium/large rock. With rocks in hand, PAX circled up (away from the dumpster stench) for a rotating COP in a 15-20-15 pyramid fashion. To start, 15 overhead triceps presses were done with chosen rock. PAX then dropped rocks and rotated clockwise to the next man’s rock for 15 rut rows, followed by 15 curls for the girls, 15 bus drivers, and lastly, 15 wonderbras. For the next round, reps increased to 20, following the same sequence of exercises. For the third set, reps decreased to 15, though by this point, admittedly YHC included, PAX were beginning to feel the burn.

For a slight break for arms, 2 sets of People’s Chair and BTTW were performed. For the first set, each PAX called a 10 count IC down the line (when counting is not done in cadence, I think PAX are more prone to cheat by counting to 10 quickly). People’s Chair and BTTW were repeated with a 10 count down the line, though this time not in cadence, since I was feeling generous.

We moseyed to the rails nearby the Jiffy Lube for some more arm work with irkins and dips. Instead of Elevens, YHC turned it up a notch to Forties (aka Lindsays in the F3 exicon). We started with 30 irkins, with 10 reps of dips immediately afterward. We switched back to irkins, decreasing the count by 5, from 30 to 25 reps, and dips increased by 5, from 10 to 15 reps. This sequence continued until 10 irkins and 30 dips were reached.

We topped off the workout with partner suicides. Partner 1 was doing burpees AMRAP while Partner 2 had to bear crawl across the parking lot and back. Partners 1 and 2 flapjacked

Mary: U.T.I. called flutter kicks. We ran out of time for additional exercises. PAX were saved by the bell.

Prayer: Unspoken

I decided that this morning would be a coupon day. Thought for sure it was going to be raining this am.

Arrived at Mutiny this am to find about 4 cars in the PVA. I headed down to the circle behind Club Works to unload some coupons. Once unloaded I met all the PAX at normal starting spot.

FNG: Welcome Rob Del Riego F3 abacus

Warm Up: We joined forces with Red October for a lap around the gym. Circled up for 30 IC side-straddle-hops, 10IC good mornings, imperial walkers, hillbillies, Frankenstein’s, merkins. Red October went to shelter and we headed off to lower parking lot.

The Workout: Once I realized we had 11 PAX I had Fram head to his car to grab some more coupons. While we waited for him, we ran suicides. After that we lunged walked, bear crawled and crawl beared to the end of the lot. It was here that I went over the stations. Below is what we did:

One PAX on tire carry around circle. He was the timer.

One PAX moseyed to stop sign at top of hill and returned.

American Hammers with weight

Bench Press w/RR weight

Mace triceps extension

Bent over rows w/weight

Squats w/mace rotating L/R hand

Fire Hose Press

Weights between legs roatating hands

Lined up and 2nd corner 5 burpees OYO, 3rd 10 Merkins on my up and down, last corner 20 crab jacks. Indian Run back to coupons. Loaded them up in the truck and headed to the wall for wall chairs w/seal claps. We then BTW for a 30 count.

Mary: Dauber and Gump were already there stretching. We did 30 IC low-slow flutter, homer-to-marge/left/right leg up also to 10 IC. Stretched and Have a Nice Day!

The world or the kingdom of GOD?

You’ve got to know where you are supposed to be!!!

Honor to led Gents!!

Baby Yoga at Disney.

Several PAX had indicated over a couple of months that we should do more stretching or yoga during a workout.  YHC thought what better time to drop it on my 2 year celebration week.  40 min of  yoga from a non-YOGI master.  Names of moves and fluidity were suspect, but nonetheless we made it through. DRP taken!

FNGs: John P. AKA: Cheesy Tots
Warm Up: SSH, SFAC, Frankenstein’s
The Workout: Various Yoga poses.  Don’t know all the names, but we moved through Vinyasa’s, Triangles, Warriors, Reverse Warriors, Runner pose, Twisting Triangle, Etc…etc…..etc… Groan, grunt, cuss, Groan….breath……hold breath…..breath……groan, cuss, breath again……..CUSS!  “Damn that was fun, different and great!
