Feel the Flow

I was watching some kettlebell flows and figured we should do that.  I do apologize for getting gassed during the workout.  I blame myself and a little bit of Dumbo for getting into that situation.  Huge congrats for Skidmark for finally getting his Fritter.  I had the shirt ready for him for some time.

The first Flow:
The first flow is supposed to be done with two kettlebells but we only have one each so we modified it.
4 Merkins
3 Each Arm Bent over Row
2 Squats
1 Each Shoulder Press

We did the flow 4 times

Recover on the Midget love Handles

The Second Flow:
Right Arm Row
Right Arm Kneeling Clean
Right Arm Press
Stand Up
Rack and switch Arm

We did 5 Reps each arm.
2 Rounds with Midget Love Handles and Around the world in between

The Third Flow:
Start in a squat
Bicep Curl
Stand Up
Bell over head
Tricep Press
Squat

We did 10 Reps of the following

We then took the bells for a walk around the loop.  With the bell press overhead.  We switched arms half way.

Circled up at the far end of the parking lot.

Birthday Double Down

YHC advertised this one as limited running – found out afterwards some Pax thought this would make it easier. Lesson learned – limited run workouts are typically harder!

Get a partner and grab a 45lb weight plate per pair. Mosey to the playground.

Lazy Dora – between you and your partner perform the reps – while one partner perform reps other partner performs paired hold:

100 pull ups / John Cusack hold with the plate

200 merkins / plank hold with weight on back

300 squats / squat hold with weight

400 LBCs / 6″ leg hold holding plate over chest

We wrapped up picking up the 6 and then moseyed back to the tennis courts for Mary, returning the weight along the way

Announcements: New HS AO Wednesday mornings 530 at Womble, starting next week (12Jun). 2nd F Wednesday morning will be moved from  Stickboy to Bagels Plus starting next week as well to make it in between Possum Trot and the new AO.  New Fuquay AO Tuesday mornings 530 at Falcon park, starting 18Jun.

We will be playing Ultimate the first Monday of every month during the summer at Mutiny. Come join the fun! Next one is 01Jul.

It’s Hot. Damn Hot.

PAX:  Lipsync, Kubota, Dusty [Expected but missing: Dauber due to concern over large pre-Thunder meal and potential Merlot, Crosby as an HC no-show and John Deere who got waylaid at work]

Three brave souls showed up for Doc’s one year anniversary, 99 degree heat index Q at Thunder.  It was hot.  How hot?  It was so hot that….
Chickens were laying omelettes
Squirrels were fanning their nuts
Trees were whistling for the dogs
Dick Cheney waterboarded himself
(I could go on all day men – Google has pages of this stuff….)

EC: Lipsync (2 mi), Dusty (1 mi)

Warm Up: 21 (SSH cadence count to 2, then silently to 21.  All PAX must end at the same time exactly or count starts again); the daisy picker; shoulder burn: Annie’s (merkin followed by plank with right hand scrubbing the floor, then merkin into plank with left hand scrubbing the floor X 5 each side), straight into arm circles, flapping bird, seal claps X 10 IC each.  Grab some water and mosey to amphitheater.

The Workout: Grab a medium rock and head to amphiteater for ALARMs (Arm, Leg, Abs, R-exercise, M-exercise).  Shoulder press with rock, lunge with rock, big boy situp with rock, rut-rohs with rock, merkins (one hand on rock) X 10 each exercise, repeat at 9, 8, 7…..1.  Recover on the curls-for-the-girls at 7 and 3 and a sip of water at 5 and 1.

Headed to the parking lot for Apple Turnovers/Hot Apple Turnovers: Bear crawl three spaces, then flip to crab walk for three spaces; rinse and repeat (and rinse and repeat).  At the end go back but crawl bear three spaces then reverse crab walk three spaces.

It was about this point that YHC was so overjoyed to have other PAX with him (confused? see “The Lonely Virgin” Ground Pounder Q) that he noticed hearts floating up from Kubota’s head and a unicorn-covered rainbow connecting Lipsync and Dusty!! Every color imaginable swirling around the PAX until……no….no, actually this could just be the edge of heat stroke.  Time for a quick water break.

After rehydrating PAX circled up for some curls for the girls and tricep presses X 10 each, changing rocks as we moved around the circle.  Returned the rocks and headed back for Mary.

Mary:  Hurricane Hoedown (in honor of the Canes and their unceremonious and premature exit from the SC Playoffs) on the edge of the cement at the amphitheater.  Flutter kick IC as follows: 7 seated with arms raised, 7 seated with hands behind back, 7 laying high, 7 laying low.  No break in between.  Completed 7,5,3,1.  Then plank-o-rama including WWIIs (x10), picklepounders (x10), homer-to-marge (x1o) and some stretching.

Announcements:  Lipsync made an extremely important and highly relevant announcement, which the sun promptly baked directly out of YHC’s short-term memory (sorry Lipsync)

Square of Trust: ‘Grace and Gratitude’: Doc read some words of wisdom then gathered for a moment of silence.  PAX invited to express requests for grace or expressions of gratitude as they desired.  Gratitude for service members, family, friends, F3 brotherhood.  Amen.

This has been a great year for me.  Man hug to this F3 brotherhood that has become a huge part of my life.  Aye!

Memorial Day Murph

What more needs to be said…. +35 men turned up for a Memorial Day Murph to honor and remember all thoose who have fallen whilst in the Armed Services…..

Prays encompassed some respectful silence….

Jog around the parking lot area and circle up for 22 counts of SSH, Imperial Walkers, Frankenstein’s, Squats and Hillbillies.

Main event

Mosey snake style up and down the hills behind the baseball field over to the wall for 22 counts of Irkins, Dirkins and Dips.

Mosey over to the batting cages for some fast feet across 2 sides, more mosey over to the rock pile.

Circle of fun with rocks for 22 counts of Curls for the girls, rotate to the left, 22 count of overhead extensions, rotate left 22 Rut Rohs, rotate left 22 counts of chest presses, rotate left 22 counts of trunk twists, rotate back to your home rock and 22 count meltdown with no break of curls, over extensions, trunk twists and Rut Rohs.

Return the rocks to the pile and mosey over to the shelter for 22 count of peoples chair followed by balls to the wall. Repeat with Australian mountain climbers and seal clap peoples chair.

Mosey back in the grass for some Duck, Duck, Goose. The duck chooses his goose after running around the outside of the circle. If the goose catches the duck its 5 burpees for the duck and if not the goose does 5. Pax performs squats while we wait.

Mary

Circle up for 22 count of Lo Slow Fludder and then a squat party for Bring Sally Up. Hold squat on bring sally down and stand up on bring sally up. A great time was had by all.
