Your Doctor Must Not Do F3

A chilly morning that got warmed up in a hurry today at TBD. A certain PAX made an appearance in the Gloom today stating that he may have to modify, based on some doctor’s orders for a recently completed procedure. Technically, the care document he was given stated no physical exertion for 2 weeks, another PAX stated, “Well, your doctor must not do F3.” At times, F3 workouts, accountability, and brotherhood does make you feel superhuman. YHC was determined to pull out a few new exercise routines that I haven’t Q’d up before. However, YHC also vastly underestimated the amount of running to be completed at the workout in the pre-blast. Sorry fellas…please come see us at TBD again!

FNG’s: none
Warm Up: Everything x13. Good Morning’s, Frankensteins, Seal Claps, a quick mosey to the other parking lot, Overhead Claps, Sir Fazio’s (F/R), and Daisy Pickers.
The Workout: Here’s where I underestimated the distance and called a shorter run audible about midway through the routine. 11’s the long way in the parking lot. On one end, it was FoxHole Merkins (a WWI on the UP, a roll, and a hand release merkin on the UP…that’s 1.) The other end was Imperial Squat Walkers.

Next Up…we would do a Agility Ladder routine where YHC brought the fast feet ladder and some cones. Each PAX got a turn performing the routine of fast feet in and out in all squares of the ladder, followed by a quick side shuffle between cones, stopping at each one for an up/down. On each end, as PAX waited, we did Shoulder Taps IC and other other end we did LSF’s IC. We did this until all PAX got their turns in. PAX helped snatch up the toys and we moseyed over to the tennis court.

We assumed the People’s Chair position and waited until all PAX returned followed by a 10 count for all PAX. On to Jack Webbs 1/3 ratio. We started at 7 Merkins and counted down to 1. Final routine was about 70 seconds of continuous squats. Have a nice day!
Mary: Built into the routine.
Announcements: Monthly Fitness Challenge and channel on Slack…not too late to join and catch up!
T-Claps (Recognition): All the PAX for staying strong and no complaints despite false advertising by YHC.
Prayer: Continued recovery for my M and M of 187. Bondo stepped up to take us out.

Ultimate Bloodbath

Your YHC led this bloodbath 232-4 (OK,  it was all fantasy in my head as we did not keep score). 23 PAX joined in some Ultimate fun. It was good to have several PAX that had never played with us out there. Thanks for letting me “lead” (and I use that term lightly)

Farmer Mickey

YHC signed up to Q Disney this week since he had decided with Skidmark that it would be a down week on the running front which meant no speed work at the track. One of my favorite AOs from the sheer breadth of things that you can do – today we didn’t need much more than the parking lot though.

I promised a new ride that hadn’t been seen before – the pax that made it out in the rain had the pleasure of farmer’s carrying “Mickey” throughout the workout.

FNGs:

Not today – would’ve been impressive in the 40 degree rain
Warm Up:

SSH x21

Burpee

Imperial Walkers x10

Burpee x2

Hillbilly x10

Burpee x3

Good morning x10

Burpee x4

Frankenstein’s x10

Burpee x5

Merkin x10

Burpee x6 (that’s 21 total for those keeping track)

Take a mosey for what will be our working lap – we made a loop between the parking lot and a small section of the greenway.

The Workout:

Partner up. Two sets of partners split up running opposite directions on our established loop. When they meet they perform 10x Hand Release Merkins the first time, 15x Squats the second, and 20x LBCs the third.

The other pair of partners stayed in the parking lot making a loop – one doing bear crawl, the other farmer’s walking with “Mickey”. The partners switch when they meet – another set of partners relieve them after a full lap.

After we all had a go with “Mickey” we had one pax carry him all the way down the hill to the road – the other 5 ran ahead and performed core work called by a pax. We repeated this up and down the hill until everyone had had their turn – core work included Low Slow Flutter, Nipplers, Shoulder Taps, and three other that my brain fails me on.

We then tucked Mickey away and out came the speaker – we sent 2020 off with a bang to Thunderstruck – SSH the whole time with burpees on every thunder/thunderstruck. Snap confirmed 33 total burpees as YHC advised.

Mary:

Homer to Marge x10

Yoga to let the heart rate come down
Announcements:

F3 turns 10 tomorrow
T-Claps (Recognition):

All the pax that beat the fart sack today and ended 2020 on a high note – 6 in Holly Springs and 6 in Fuquay means quite a few opted for the covers this morning. Let’s do better on the first day of 2021.
Prayer:

Breach took us out with prayers for our nation, first responders, and all those impacted by COVID.

6 Men, 5 Presents, 4 Minutes of the Boss, 3 F’s, 2 Miles, and 1 Lady Stuck in the Mud

The title above  says it all, but some details will be here in the BB. Very honored to take the Q at such a great AO on such a great day. YHC wanted to get to as many places as possible today on the wonderful grounds of Disney to deliver the Christmas Eve beatdown. Don’t say I never gave you anything…

FNG’s: No…but Snap saw a friend post-workout and it sounds like that fella may start coming around to workouts!
Warm Up: Everything x 12. Good Mornings, Fazio’s, Imperial Walkers, Hillbillies, Daisy Pickers and a quick mosey lap. It was a this time that the 6 men returned from helping the 1 lady. Mosey over to the bottom of the big frisbee golf hill and split into two groups. We would need these groups for a couple gifts today.

The Workout:

Present 1: Two groups. Group 1 stays on the path and does AMRAP SSH until Group 2 returns. Group 2 does 5 burpees, takes the big hill, 10 squat jumps at the top, moseys along the ridge to do 15 merkins at the end, and mosey’s back. Then group 2 gets their turn. Indian Run to the community center, 2 lines.

Present 2: Group 1 Bear Crawls the length of the lot and at the end does AMRAP Monkey Humpers. When group 1 reaches the end and starts exercising, it’s group 2’s turn for the bear crawls. Mosey over to the wall behind the school.

Present 3: The whole PAX does a People’s Char for a 15 count per PAX. 2 Lines, Indian Run over to the large high school parking lot.

Present 4: A stacked up 4 corners with the whole group. 10 Hand Release Merkins, Sprint the long stretch down, then stack on 15 Star Jumps, then lunge walk the short end, the stack on 20 LBC’s IC, then sprint the long run back, then stack on 25 Pickle Pounders IC. 2 Line Indian Run back for Mary…was hoping to get to the Abyss, but not this time.

Present 5: YHC threw on the tunes. The great Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band! Their rendition of Santa Claus is Comin to Town is a bit over 4 minutes. So the Mary routine would be…
Mary: Constant AMRAP Squats with a burpee on every “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”. During the sax solo, we did SSH. I think we did, 16 burpees during the song… Have a Merry Christmas!
Announcements: Only 1 SW workout tomorrow at KungPOW…5:30.
T-Claps (Recognition): Deadbolt and DoubleD holdin it down on Christmas for us. The 6 Men (Deadbolt, Oboe, Dumbo, Buford, MadDog, and Roger Roger) helping the 1 Lady out of the mud up on the road. Apparently, she skidded off somehow this morning….HIM!
Prayer: Every PAX shared a hope for 2021 for their family. YHC shared that as men, we often want to fix problems, destroy obstacles, and provide solutions. Whereas we have many opportunities to do this, we shouldn’t lose sight of the times we are simply supposed to be present and walk beside someone else in their struggles and their pursuits…even those in our own home. YHC has been learning this lesson lately and wanted to share and challenge. There is the 3rd F, 2nd F was enjoyed by several after, and I’m hoping the 1st F delivered at Disney on this Christmas Eve. YHC took us out. Honored to be among these mighty men this morning!

I thought that was FedEx

Chilly, windy Monday mornings always brings out the best in people: great workouts, great mumble chatter, great fellowship. Nice to see a consistent showing at PC as 13 strong ventured out to let FML take the Q. We make this promise, you will get a variety.

EC Bells: Dawg and Emeril
EC Running: UTI, Lipstick, Skidmark
Commute: Pikachu

FNGs: One new member to F3 moseyed across the street to join rather than making the commute to Garner. Welcome Brah. Good thing he didn’t tell us he joined slack with a fake name or this could have been ugly. Someone pointed out a slight resemblance to FedEx.
Warm Up: Lipstick ran us up the ramp for some SSH, Imperial Walkers, and Hillbillies. Down the ramp for burpees for sleepy Kat and Frankensteins.
The Workout: Lipstick with the first Q who took us on a 5 minute mosey to the entrance to Oak Hall. The first one. BUT depending on you point of reference that could easily change. Regardless we had to run up there in 5 minutes and back in 3:45. Valiant effort.

Pikachu with part Deux. Suicides on the ramp. 3 star jumps at the bottom and Monkey Humpers at the light post. Add 3 humpers at each light post to get you to 39 humpers of monkees.

Mary: Skidmark at the rear. 3 man indian run to the courts for about 7 minutes of plank hold for varying exercises. Forgot Dumbo hurt his shoulder so he exercised his abs from his back. Lots of guys on their knees at this point. Guess they were all sucking…wind

Announcements: 2nd F leadership, 3rd F looking for more guys to join the committee
T-Claps (Recognition): FNG, Bondo is 60 and getting after it.
Prayer: Fanny’s wife, 187 and Tracey, Holiday goods and bads

Glorious Game of Ultimate Under the Lights

FNGs:  none
Warm Up:  Good AM, Frankenstein, SSH
The Workout:  Ultimate 5 on 5, under the lights at Ting park on the pitch; 42 degrees F, raining (moderately)….two teens (Macho Nacho & Frenchie) paired with 6-footers of Norm & Shredder (both with deceptive speed) and SNAP who simply ran everyone in the ground gave a good effort.  Was it enough?  It was tied 7-7 I believe with 3 minutes left until Mary.  Did Kubota make the incredible no-see catch with his glasses fogged/dripping of rain?  Was it the long distance toss/catch between the dynamic duo of Chad “Mahomes” Breach to speedster “can’t catch me”  Pikachu?  Or was is Dauber threading the needle to a diving Gronk-esque Forceps?  You had to be there.  Outstanding game gentlemen.
Mary:  Michael Phelps….trying to stay warm as we circled up.
Announcements:  Beer Ruck; HSPD Toy fundraiser  – keep the $ coming PAX!  FVFD Toy collection – drop off with Sprinkler; Ted Talks with Bacon next Tuesday
T-Claps (Recognition):  All the PAX who embraced the suck this morning!  Thank you!  It was glorious!
Prayer:  Praise – successful surgery 187 M; prayers for Pikachu’s M; prayers for Forceps uncle who recently passed.  Unspoken.  First responders; military.  Dauber took us out.

Crazy Ivan

Had a hard time coming up with a title because the mumble chatter was so minimal this morning. Nice group this morning that worked out and hopefully got the most out of the workout. Workout was no running friendly.

FNGs: None
Warm Up: Fazio Arm Circles, Imperial Squats, Hillbillies, SSH. Practiced the three moves that would be used for part of the main event.
The Workout: 45 seconds on/15 seconds rest. Start with 4 reps of each. If you completed the exercises in 35 seconds, add two reps to each. If you didn’t make it in 45 seconds subtract 2 reps from each. Stay with the same reps if you complete the exercise between 35 and 45 seconds. Did this f0r 20 rounds with the following exercises: One arm kettle bell swings, squats, kettlebell snatch burpees.

After 20 minutes move to the wall for one set of Balls to wall and preacher chair with all pax doing 10 count. Added a 20lb kettlebell because no brought anything smaller. In preacher chair pax passed the kettlebell from hand to hand with arm extended. Went down the row and back. Then tried it with balls to the wall :/      Safety First of course.

Circle back up with a round of “Jump” by Van Halen. Squat hold and star jump on the jumps.

Mary: 6 minutes of Plank hold with varying exercises. Finish with have a nice day.
Announcements: CSAUPS, Christmas party, Oakwood 24
T-Claps (Recognition):
Prayer: 187 and M, Pikachu’s M, Fanny Pack’s M, Pax and families recovering/navigating covid
