Crossing the Aisle

Bringing people together is important.  We each have the power to unite or divide. Men, in particular, have an opportunity to bring people together. Our families, our co-workers, neighbors, and friends. Sadly, a lot of guys go it alone and don’t engage. I’ve been there.

One way men get together is through competition (usually proceeded by smack talk, then usually followed by the smack down) and cooperation. Well, we had all that and more going on today. You see, there has been a lot of smack talk between R4TJ and TBD here lately. These co-site Q’s apparently inherited a beef that goes back.  Well, YHC decided to cross the aisle, plan a small convergence of sorts, and plan a competitive Thang for us to come together, workout, and have some fun before the smack talk re-ensues.  With both site Q’s negotiating the plan and timing, we were ready to roll.  14 pax from TBD rolled up on 8 pax from R4TJ on the parking deck to get squared away. There was an additional, 5-6 R4TJ pax that had “other hills to climb”.

EC: YHC solo.
Warm Up: Told the fellas I wasn’t wearing gloves cuz I didn’t want to hear R4TJ complain about it for the limited ground work we’d do. Circle up for SSH, Good Mornings, Windmills, Squatted Seal And Overhead Claps, Moroccan Night Clubs, Annie’s, and Frankenstein’s. Mosey the .6 mile over to the parking deck. Picking up the six before crossing Main.
The Workout: Thang 1 was meant to be for my crowd only. SSH in circle, then a Guantanamo style 45 degree side shuffle down the line and a plank hold hop down the line.  Alternated position every 3 or so pax.  Just happened to finish as R4TJ arrived.  After a quick count off, rules of engagement, etc. YHC decided to partner up mixed teams of R4TJ and TBD pax. YHC planned beforehand that if we couldn’t match numbers to compete… we would cooperate and compete. 2 teams… 3 points to be won. All pax in a parking space on their six.

Thang 2: 1 pax sprints wall to wall and back to their spot. All other pax await their turn to run by doing WW1. In the end, 1 point was awarded to team that finished sprints first. 1 point for most cumulative WW1’s. 1 point for team who could calculate their WW1 total the fastest. This fella named McNugget is crazy fast and closed the distance. Halftime result- 2-1 for team 1.

Thang 3: Down below to the underworld for last man standing BTTW. Turns out, 4 minutes and 8 seconds declared a winner. Team 2 awarded the point, but crazy cheers, coaching, and valiant effort put in by all. We finished in a 2-2 tie.
Mary: Mosey back to the TBD flag. Laughs were had, encouragement happened, we got loud downtown in the early morning, men worked out. It’s really all that YHC hoped would happen this morning. F3 can be fun too. #morethanaworkout
Announcements: Mulch continues, Sign up. Mookie will be reaching out to site-Q’s with info about Q swap in the coming weeks. As per Banana Seat, try to get out in the coming weeks to AO’s you usually don’t frequent.
T-Claps (Recognition): Cupid for being agreeable to arrange this idea of mine. Goldilocks apparently made a return to the gloom?
Prayer: Unspoken, those in recovery.  We are thankful.  YHC took is out.

After All These Years

3+ years of F3, dozens of posts at Womble including early days of Crazy Ivan as a site Q when getting 3 guys was a strong turnout, but I don’t think I have ever taken lead at Cletus. Slot was open on Q sheet and really needed some increased accountability to close a tough week out with the chance to spend 45 mins+ with a great group of #HIM each dealing with their own weights on their shoulders and each looking to put in some work together, earn some small victories and get stronger in many ways.

FNGs: Nope
Warm Up: Jog to far lot, quick set of the usual stuff
The Workout: In the “Ivan Lot” and we set up at one end. First we did a sprint to the far end (intention was to hold a “race finish” pace), then a jog back to other end and repeat for total of 3 laps. Second we burned the shoulders – arms out and hold for slow 10 count, Fazio ICx0 front, hold out for 10, Fazio ICx10 reverse, hold out for 10, Slow Seal Claps ICx10, hold out for 10, Overhead ICx10, hold for 10 and done. Third we did 10 count merkins straight up to SSH ICx25 and we repeated 2 more times. That was 1 set. We did 2 more full sets of the whole thing. Nice mix of different stuff, some solid cardio and shoulder work.
Mary: 2 quick sets LBC, Homer, 6″ hold, Low Slow Flutter, 6″ hold
Announcements: Mulch, let’s keep contributing and helping out the Town
T-Claps (Recognition): Hardy for gearing up for a Ninja Challenge this weekend, we know you will do great and we hope you enjoy the competition
Prayer: FloJo shared with us how he got his name and what F3 has meant to him. YHC talked about the weight we are all carrying on our shoulders. Don’t carry all that weight around alone, it might knock you down – YHC took us out. Let’s keep FloJo, Hardy and their family in our prayers as FloJo travels to SC for a work opportunity.

Don’t Buy The Fake News From Dem Boys Runnin For The Toilet

Me and Fanny Pack were up late getting ready for this morning’s workout. Fanny Pack was mowing the grass while I cleaned the bathrooms in case any random speed walkers with irritable bowels needed to make a pit stop. 520am came quickly and the gloom brought out some star power including the likes of M4L and Doc among others, and the place was looking pristine. We also welcomed back Cotter Kid Cracker, and Bondo who was making his second appearance since his FNG workout on Monday.

FNGs: Nada

Warm Up:

We started with a mosey around the soccer fields (doing our best to steer clear of the tennis courts) to the far parking lot for some warm up exercises….

Daisy Pickers x10, Annies x12, Imperial Walker x15, Hillbilly x15

The Workout:

Indian run around and past the amphitheater and make a left turn over the small bridge and another left at the fork in the path around the baseball fields. Stopped at the volleyball courts for a spontaneous 5 burpees OYO. Then continued to loop around baseball fields with an Indian run until we reached the bottom of the decline in the path (behind the fence of the outfield). This made for a nice hill to incorporate into the workout.

11’s with the Hill – Side Straddle Squats at the bottom and burpees at the top…Poop eater decided to make a stinky in the middle of our burpee reps. Luckily Florence was “Johnny on the spot” with a plastic baggy…

Next was an Indian run to the parking lot for a Dora rock workout.  Performed triceps extensions, shoulder presses and curls for the girlz – x100 reps each. PAX were told instead of doing high reps, to go slow and focus on form. Partner A started the rock reps while Partner B did evolution of man (Bear crawl 25 yards, lunge walk 25 yards, sprint back to their partner) around parking lot. Then trade places until all 100 rep goals were achieved.

Mary:

Plank hold while we went around the circle and each PAX gave a 10 count for a good shoulder burn.

Low Slow Flutter x20, boxcutter x15, LBC x20, homer to marge x20, monkey humper x20, have a nice day

Bit Up and Gassed Out in the Swimming Pool

EC: Fanny Pack and Nemo

FNG’s: None

Warm Up: So there are some “cardinal rules” as I’ve found within F3 such as “If you can’t do it…don’t Q it”.  This is a great rule.  One that I’ve tried to live by in the 30 ish Q’s I’ve taken since joining F3 in October. One that I’ve been able to do well so far.  Today, YHC almost failed to push through his own Q.  Nemo even said during EC, “my legs are just not feeling it”. It was the same for me, and by the second time we took Library Hill, YHC relied on his brothers to take some IC counts and continued on… for them!

Warm-Up: SSH x 30 IC, Good Mornings, mosey, Sir Fazios And SSH x 20 IC. Head to the bottom of Library Hill.
The Workout: With BRR coming up, gotta mix the hills in.  We did 3 Library Hill repeats from the bottom with stacked exercises at the bottom and top.  Bottom: 5 burpees. Top: 5 burpees, 10 reverse lunge IC. Bottom: 5 burpees, 10 reverse lunge IC, 15 squats. Top: 5 burpees, 10 reverse lunge IC,15 Squats, 20 Shoulder Taps. Bottom: 5 burpees, 10 reverse lunge IC, 15 squats, 20 shoulder taps, 25 mountain climbers. To the top once more for about a minute long plank hold, form focused, control your breathing, etc. Mosey to the rocks, Cusack to the barber shop for some haircuts.

10 second each pax count for People’s Chair. Grab your rock and do 25 Curls and 25 Rut Rows. 10 second count each pax BTTW and do 25 Shoulder Press and 25 rock spanks IC. Do People’s Chair for 10 count each pax and then grab the rock for 25 Tricep press and curls. Finish with 10 count pax BTTW. Cusack the rocks back and head over to Mary.
Mary: 25 counts of the following: LBC, Freddie Mercury’s, Dying Cockroach, H2M, Standard Merkins, Heel Taps. Plank hold for about 90 seconds.  Have a nice day!
Announcements: Mulch… Sign up! Emeril and M4L collecting donations for Neighbor to Neighbor and Healing Transitions.
T-Claps (Recognition): Pax grabbing some cadence counts and following my exhausted butt around downtown!
Prayer: I’m celebrating 18 yrs.  with the M today!  Unspoken. YHC took us out.  Honor to lead…but I’ve got some work to do!

6 Year Anniversary Gala at Cletus

Wow – 6 years.  When I first gave into the 18 month long headlock by Gnard Dogg from Raleigh – I remember telling my M that “maybe this will be good – I can catch a Friday workout a few times a month to change up things for me at the Y (Sad Clown).  Little did I know that 6 years later, I would have accomplished the following:

  • Probably 1,000 posts
  • 7 half marathons completed
  • 2 Blue Ridge Relays
  • Maybe 3,000 miles of running
  • 10+ CSAUPs
  • 100+ Q-ed workouts
  • Hundreds of Clown Car rides
  • Stronger Marriage and relations with my kids
  • Major advances in my career / leadership (I accredit some of this to F3)
  • Countless memories with hundreds of new friends

WOW

Rolling into the parking lot at Cletus, Mookie and I got a little concerned.  On the way over in the clown car, we discussed what we would do if we had more than 25 Pax.  I did not want too many in our group(s) given Covid.  I quickly discussed what I had planned to Mookie as we drove over.  I remember him looking at me like “Are you crazy?”

As it became obvious that the Pax count would be near 40 – we decided to go with the Audible and split the pax.  I am very glad we did.  T-Claps to Mookie for the co-Q

FNGs:  None – Shovel flag planted at 5:29
Warm Up: Got things started with a mosie down to the field near the small pavillion.  The one we always warm up in when the crowds are big

  • Hand Release Burpees x 5 (OYO)
  • Good Morning x 10 (IC)
  • SSH x 20 (IC)
  • Moroccan Night Clubs x 20 (IC)  – note:  no one of Moroccan decent was offended with this reference
  • Mountain Climbers x 20 (IC)
  • Hell – it’s time to go

The Workout:

Pax of 38 was split into roughly half.  Mookie too one to the lower field and YHC kept the other half up top at the Soccer field.  It went down like this

Thing 1:  The Elle McPhereson

The Split pax on the soccer field would split again into two groups.  Groups would perform exercises on duct taped sheets in two (2) of the four corners (diagonal from each other).  Group 1 would sprint 50% around the track while Group 2 did the exercises.  Group 2 does AMRAP until all of Group 1 makes it to the opposite corner.  Group 1 would signal with a “yell” for Group 2 to stop the reps and run the same direction (clockwise around the field to them).  This was repeated for 20 minutes while the other Pax was down on the field.  Basically we were looping the 1/2 miles around the soccer field.

Group 1 (Arms and Chest)

  • Burpees
  • Wide Grip Merkins
  • Carolina Dry Docks
  • Diamond Merkins

Group 2 (Legs and Abs)

  • Jump Squats
  • WW1
  • Star Jumps
  • Mountain Climbers

Thing 2:  “The Michigan”

This workout was from the original scrolls of Southwake.  It was named by a Ohio State fan.  “Because it sux”.  The pax gathered on the end line of the soccer/football field.  All we did was sprints and Jack Webbs.  It went like this

  • Ten – 100-yard dashes +  2 Hand Release Jack Webbs (2 hand release merkins and 8 halleluiahs)
  • Eight – 80 yard dashes + 4 Hand Release Jack Webbs
  • Six – 60 yard dashes + 6 Hand Release Jack Webbs
  • Four – 40 yard dashes + 8 Hand Release Jack Webbs
  • Two – 20 yard dashes + 10 Hand Release Jack Webbs

That went on for 20 minutes – it was a smoker

The 2 groups converged on the North Tennis Courts for Mary and COT

Mary:

  • Low Slow Flutter
  • LBC Ladder (IC)
    • 5
    • 10

DB Out!

Did Bambi Smell my Farts???

Four PAX sauntered out on EC ready to improve their mile splits, while feeling like they were wearing a sweater with the thick blanket of humidity.  Shamwow was quick to point out 3 deer about half a mile in as soon as YHC let four very timely farts from his nether regions, Dahmer laughed with amusement as the deer ran off.

9 Eager PAX began warmup, not realizing what YHC had in store, lap around the soccer field and then back to the parking lot for some good mornings x 10 count, daisy pickers x 15, SSH x 20, Fazio arm circles front and back, moving into overhead clap x 10 and then IW’s x 15.

YHC intended to have the Indian run up to go straight to the big parking lot via passing by the abyss, until Nemo happened to pipe up and wondered why we weren’t stopping.  Indian run train paused to let the passengers off for a DORA, two men teams 50 merkins, 100 LBC’s and 150 squats with alternating partner running down for 5 x star jumps.  Post completion of DORA, PAX headed back aboard the Indian run train to head to the originally intended target, big parking lot.

Arriving at the lot DB asked what they did to piss off YHC, nothing, just wanting to serve up a beat down :).  PAX then moved into 4 corners in the lot – two teams – all staying together for 10 x wide grip merkins at corner 1, 10 x lunges at corner 2, 20 mountain climbers IC at corner 3 and 20 prisoner squats at corner 4, rinse and repeat.

All once again hopped on the Indian run train to head to the benches for alternating irkins, dirkins and dips x 10 while other group did 15 x shoulder taps in cadence.  PAX hopped on the train for the last stop back at the soccer field for Mary.

Mary started with 10 x american hammer, 15 x box cutter, 10 x 6 inch leg lift, 10 x low slow flutter, 15 x reverse LBC and 10 burpees courtesy of POTS.  Train came to a stop with have a nice day.

Announcements: Deadbolt 6 year anny at Cletus tomorrow, new job for Bobby Dall, Derrick Davis run sign up, and a special Happy 38th Birthday to Dahmer.

Prayer requests: Crablegs, family of Clay (Roger Roger’s neighbor) who lost his battle with cancer and Flanigan for minor cardiac procedure.

T Claps: All PAX for putting in some sweat equity this morning

Humid Morning for a Run

FNGs:

None

Warm Up:

Light jog around the parking lot with a few exercises to get the group warm and ready for a run

The Workout:

YHC had pre-blasted an old school U-Turn route in reverse and that I was Qing in celebration of my 2 years with F3.  These 2 years have brought new friendships, greater health and an increased amount of community out reach on my part.  The reasons for this was demonstrated multiple times this morning as everyone picked up the six (which consisted of myself).  This act of support is one of the reasons I have continued to post even when I feel like I don’t want to or can’t.

This morning’s run was a humid one, but everyone got 5+ miles and some good fellowship.  Some PAX (the crazier variety) got 15+ miles.

Great work men and thanks for the opportunity to lead.

Mary:

None.

Announcements:

A few PAX indicated there may be a group training for their 1st Full Marathon later this year.

Emeril is collecting supplies for Healing Transitions.  Please consider getting soap, shaving cream, etc. and providing to Emeril this week.  Also they will take your old running shoes, don’t just throw them out, consider giving them to a group that could use some support.

T-Claps (Recognition):

Thanks to everyone for supporting me the last 2 years and I look forward to what we do in the future.

Prayer:

YHC took us out, with unspoken prayers and praises.

We Need To Retire That One…

For a while now, those guys in Wescott have been putting together a Friday morning routine since March. Through neighborhood accountability among PAX, sometimes there were 3, other times there were 6, and then eventually through word of mouth, suddenly there were 10+. Over the past few weeks, this AO has  been drawing double digits.

Maybe it’s those outstanding post game 2nd F’s- sometimes including home cooked bacon, often times ice code tailgate refreshments, or maybe its those clever marketing campaigns-Reagan Era Beatdowns by some of SouthWake’s elder statesmen, deranged Easter Egg hunts, or some weird creepy photoshop work involving Mr. Rogers. Hey.. whatever works, but the Mr. Roger’s angle in pre-blast last night was enough to entice Nemo into heading straight down Sunset Lake Road instead of taking that right onto Holly Springs Road from Wood Creek and onto Crazy Ivan.

Some have been skeptical about these workouts that these men have been putting together up at that pool on the hill off of Sunset Lake Rd. One PAX even went so far as yesterday to call it a ‘fake’ workout and one that should be abandoned for the sake joining a celebratory birthday Q, where sometimes the featured EC is YouTube Yoga, with a non-F3 affiliated virtual led instructor- Mary Beth? Those who throw stones I guess. You know who you are and I still love ya.

While it would have been nice to celebrate Midget’s birthday this morning in person at Crazy Ivan, we now have a legitimate AO in Wescott, with an actual reference on the Q sheet, and the ability to check a box to write a backblast. For those reasons alone, there was an increased need to be accountable this morning and Q in the absence of our site Q, Deadbolt, who is currently vacationing with family. By the way, his Reagan Era beatdown last week with Double D was one that will be long remembered by those in attendance for a very long time. No fake news on that one.. Over 100 burpees and the guys attending the 1776 workout the following day were still talking about it. Ain’t that right, Pikachu? You know. You were there.

Since cancelling this morning’s workout was not an option, YHC decided to honor Midget’s birthday with a workout that mimic’d one of his favorite Raleigh AO’s- Whiplash. Thankfully, we didn’t cancel as when I got to the lot, it was filled with pickup trucks and SUV’s. Lots of PAX getting EC beforehand. A real sight of beauty. Pretty soon there were 10, once Pablo emerged from a distance one street over. Exchanged some light mumblechatter, and as 5:30 hit, we went right to work.

2 lines formed as we proceeded out of the lot in Indian Run formation down Wescott Ridge and over to the new annex they are building off of Bible Way Court. Circled up in the cul-de-sac within the new annex and performed the following

Warm Up: Good Mornings X10 IC, Imperial Walkers X10, Hillbillies X10, Fazio X10 F\B, Seal Claps X10, Overheads X10. Formed 2 lines and made our way out of this new development, but not before giving instruction on what we’d be doing.

The Workout: Little known fact about Wescott, there are 7 cul-de-sacs (not including the 1 we were exiting). The workout was simple..

2 line (5 PAX per) Indian Runs throughout the entire workout

-5 Burpees at each intersection we pass either entering or exiting (Total 85 Burpees for the workout)

-At each cul-de-sac progressive exercises would be performed X10 reps each exercise, tacking on a new exercise at each cul-de-sac visited

Proceeded first down Bible Way to head toward the cul-de-sac of Eden Glen on the backside of Wescott, which Deadbolt usually refers to as Fuquay South. A boat was seen in front of his house, but wasn’t his. Seemed fitting though that the first exercise should be Boat Canoes, but made zero sense to get PAX on their six, so we settled for some squats X10 at the bottom of the first cul-de-sac. Finished those and headed back up the hill in Indian Run formation. At the intersection, did another set of 5 burpees, ran an few hundred yards and then another 5 burpees at the Brightling intersection.

Passed by YHC’s casa, where the sprinklers were running. Let PAX know, if they needed a water break, this would be a perfect time as my water was their water. No takers. We had work to do and continued the Indian run to the next cul-de-sac. This next one was situated way down hill so Pablo cleverly said we should do Mountain Climbers. Perfect.. 10 Squats and 10 Mountain Climbers IC at the bottom of the cul-de-sac. Back in the Indian Run lines.

3 more intersections- 15 more Burpees to the next cul-de-sac for an added set of shoulder taps. So here we go- 10 Squats, 10 Mountain Climbers, 10 Shoulder Taps. Everyone still together we formed a somewhat fellowship run out of the cul-de-sac on the bottom of the back side of Brightling Way to the intersection.. Yep- 5 more burpees. 2 lines reformed and we headed up the second worst hill in the neighborhood.

By that time, we were starting to see some fatigue by a few PAX, but iron sharpens iron and although there were some pick ups of the 6, the lines were evenly distributed with very minimal lag time where neither line was way ahead or way behind. A very good mix in each lane and we all pushed each other. At the top of Brightling and Wescott Ridge- another 5 burpees and then proceeded down to that palm tree house at the bottom of Wescott Ridge. 10 Squats, 10 Mountain Climbers IC, 10 Shoulder Taps, and 10 Star Jumps. Back in 2 lines with 3 more intersections and 15 more burpees. Saw a few neighborhood clowns running, but appeared they wanted no part of these HIM trains, either due to social distancing or that they couldn’t fathom 10 dudes just suddenly dropping in front of them doing choreographed burpees at the end of their street almost as if they were possessed.

Home stretch and one more hill left, two lines still in tact, headed right on Danagher for one final cul-de-sac. 5 more burpees at the intersection. For those who have posted here before, this hill is like a Tyson knockout punch to the face, especially closer to the end of the workout. Lots of final adrenaline on display after these intersection burpees. Squat hold for the 6. At the top of the cul-de-sac, 10 Squats, 10 Mountain Climbers IC, 10 Shoulder Taps, 10 Star Jumps, and 10 Hand Release Merkins. This last exercise got two thumbs down from Fonzie as a Mother Trucker certified exercise. 2 lines reformed and 5 more burpees at the bottom of the hill. No time to proceed forward.. 5 out of 7 cul-de-sacs covered, 3mi later, and just enough time for 6 minutes of Mary.

This workout wasn’t meant to be easy, but we pushed through it together, and we’ll do it again next week. These guys absolutely killed it this morning. Double D indicated that we should retire this workout, but I’m gonna reserve the right to break this one out on special occasions or when certain PAX want to really separate fact from fiction on the type of workout we are delivering in Wescott on Friday.

Mary: Boat Canoes X10, LBC X20, Homer to Marge X10, Low Slow Flutter X10, Pickle Pounders X20 IC, Downward Dog, and one extra Good Morning, because that it was.

Announcements: Check out the new AO Banks Road Elementary on Monday, another new Sunday option with a Ruck at Hilltop Needmore. Check slack for details
T-Claps (Recognition): All PAX in attendance this morning and those getting EC- Fonzie, LED, New Mexico, Double D, Nemo, FedEx. FRAM and Sprinkler for sticking with it and pushing through the entire workout. Iron sharpens Iron in effect all morning.

Prayer: First responders, those experiencing financial impacts from the pandemic, and additional prayers for family and those in our communities battling health issues. YHC took us out.

Always an honor to lead. Thank you for this opportunity this morning.

2 for a Stolen Q

I remember back in the day when the biggest challenge doing a BB was trying to remember the names of everyone who showed up. DT must be one of SWF3 best kept secrets. Co-Qs exchanged a few messages last night and I let Coal Ash know I would be there and had a workout at the ready. I rolled in at 5 and set out on solo EC for a couple miles and some hills. Returned with less than a min to spare and as Coal Ash ran in from his solo EC run from home, our prediction from the night before proved true with an empty lot. I was glad to see him there because much like 2 weeks ago when Cowboy joined me, had he not showed it’s unclear to what extent my self-accountability would have pulled me through what I had planned. The workout today was taken in part from a crazy 1 hour boot camp run Mookie put us through several weeks ago at AGS, and in part from a great set from Fanny Pack during his Q tour stop at TBD last week. Worked out to be a good combination and we liked the hill work as Coal Ash and I look to start some training for the Grandfurther Mountain run in late August. Some good mumble chatter as we caught up on work and life.

FNGs: hard to imagine an FNG finding us when we average 2 PAX per workout, but maybe one of these days
Warm Up: we did, but we talked about the info shared by Dawgpound from Freed to Lead. Should show up for workout already warmed up. That said, I like going through the motions of a warm up because sometimes the exercises we do actually serve as a nice first round of putting in the work.
The Workout: we headed over to Library Hill. One of us ran down and back while the other stayed at traffic circle. We did 4 rounds. Round 1, held regular plank to failure then LBC. 2nd round was chill cut, 3rd was shoulder taps and 4th was back to regular plank. On the jog back around the library we picked up rocks in the parking lot. Set up in parking space, rock on curb. Bear crawl to rock, do a set, crawl bear back. We did curls and triceps working down from 20 to 15 to 10. Bear crawl/crawl bear between each set and threw in low slow flutters and homer to marge between each set. Then did another round of curls but did SSH between sets, and wrapped up with walking triceps press as we returned the rocks.
Mary: Nope, we were out of time and did plenty of core work during the main event
Announcements: None
T-Claps (Recognition): Coal Ash for the early EC and showing strong to give me accountability despite his long day rock climbing in the heat with his family yesterday
Prayer: Silence for unspoken

Hey Man… You…Do You…OK?

With RUNE in the books, YHC had pre-blasted an extremely run limited AO this morning to give the legs a rest. I even implored the runners (so many enthusiastic and great ones) in this group to go visit Run for the John if they wanted to run.  So you had your choice between 1/2 mile and 6-7 mile workouts.  YHC was determined to smoke the beach muscles of every pax who posted.

EC: Nemo, Fanny Pack, Yogurt

FNG’s: No sir.
Warm Up: SSH x 20, everything else 10 counts including Overhead Claps, Seal Claps, Good Mornings, Daisy Pickers, Moroccan Night Clubs. YHC also called for 20 merkins and 20 offset grip R/L merkins before we set off.
The Workout: Under the shelter for DORA variation. No running partner. 1 partner did 50 LBC single count, while other partner exercised.  Exercises were: 100 dirkins, 200 step-ups, and 300 dips. FloJoe and Hardy were all of a sudden sitting around like, “yeah… we’re done”. They busted this DORA out!

Next, onto rock work.  Everyone grabbed a rock and a parking space.  During this time, Yogurt, Nemo, and YHC had some back and forth about rock size, location of parking spot etc. Simple response was, “Hey man, you do you, ok??? We did a series of each pax bear crawling on their parking space, grabbing the rock and doing exercises before crawl bearing backwards only to start again. We did 3 series of each rock exercise by counts of 20,15, and 10.   Exercises were Curls for the Girls, Tricep Press, and over head press giving us 9 total round of this sequence with 3 extra sets of ab work between which included 20 counts of WW2, LSF, and Hello Dolly’s.

On to a short rock circle consisting of 20 count IC Wonderbras, 20 chest Press, 20 rut rowsIC, 20 chest Press, then finished with 20 standard merkins before Cusacking the rocks back home. Mosey in for Mary.

Mary: H2M 20 count IC, Heel Taps 20 count IC.
Announcements: Mulch… do it!
T-Claps (Recognition): Tetanus for being my shield lock brother and supporting this crazy  weeklong Q thing I’m doing.  Yogurt for usually being the oldest but destroying EVERYONE!
Prayer: Those with addictions for freedom. YHC took us out.  On to stop #4.  Thanks fellas for pushing me to be my best version of myself!
