Particle Board’s VQ

20 PAX (12 for EC) posted at Purple Cobra to experience a VQ from Particle Board.

EC: Banana Seat, Redenbacher, 187, Pikachu, WebEx, Warbucks, UTI, Skidmark, Dahmer, Pablo, Full House, Lucky Charms

FNGs: None
Warm Up: Started with standard warm-up lap, warm up exercises in cadence: SSH x 30, Good Mornings x 10, Imperial Walkers x15, Hillbillies x 15, Sir Fazio arm circles 10F & 10B, 10 burpees OYO
The Workout: PAX moseyed to the Wells Fargo parking lot and found an accountability partner.  PAX were instructed to complete a Dora 1-2-3 (100 Merkins, 200 Freddie Mercury in cadence, and 300 prisoner squats) splitting the exercises between partners.  Partner 1 started the exercises while partner 2 ran out of the lower entrance to the lot and ran up the sidewalk along Holly Springs Rd to the intersection of Sunset Lake Rd and completed 5 star jumps (adding 2 star jumps for each return visit to the intersection) and then back to the lot to rotate with partner 2.  Once all reps were completed, Q had partners complete a “reverse partner’s chair”?  (pax faced their partner and performed a wall-less peoples chair, but held partners hand for balance).  Pax then moseyed to the  other side of the lot behind the building to perform a few BTW exercises.  Exercise 1: Partner 1 was in BTW while Partner 2 did diamond merkins x20, then switch and repeat.  Exercise2:  Partner 1 was in BTW while partner 2 did mickey mouse merkins x 10, then switch and repeat.  Pax then moseyed back to the circle for Mary.
Mary: Homer-to-Marge IC x 2o, pickle pounder IC x 20, side plank crunches (5 IC on each side), 5 burpees OYO.

Not Much Talk But A Lot Of Sweat!

FNGs:NONE

EC:Aquaman, Dahmer, Katniss
Warm Up:1 lap around soccer field with a stop at the halfway point for some SSH X 15 and Daisy Pickers X 10. Continue back to tennis courts for some Fazio Arm circles 10 fwrd 10 reverse, into seal claps X10 and overhead claps X10
The Workout:Partner catch me if you can around soccer fields. 1st time around person in back does 15 high knees then catches partner. 2nd time around was 5 merkins and 3rd time around was 3 burpees. We then picked up the 6 and indian run to bottom of ramp at the pit. 7’s was the game! Burpees at bottom and merkins at top starting with 1 burpee and 6 merkins. YHC instructed PAX to run 90%-100% up the ramp and easy down. Once completed we took a mosey around the soccer field together to cool down arriving at the tennis court for mary.
Mary:We began with some shoulder taps IC led by Shamwow while YHC retrieved his phone. Once YHC returned we quickly transitioned into a 20ct of WWII’s then 20 LBC’s IC. Flip over to Pickel Pounders 20ct IC and into plank hold for a 10ct from each person (threw in some right arm and left arm up during the plank hold) ending with YHC. We finished with some downward dog, runners pose and pigeon pose to say thank you to our lower bodies for bringing us through 3+ miles!

Sweat Puddles

12 men woke for the 4th of July week. No vacation for these men. They were rewarded for their commitment to Paradise City with a 3+ mile beatdown.

EC: Bullseye, Aquaman, Full House, Katniss, Skidmark

FNGs: None
Warm Up: 1 lap warm-up with stops to do 20 Side Strattle Hops, 10 Windmills, 10 Imperial Walkers, 10 Hillbillies, and 10 Sir Fazio Arm Circles forward and reverse.

The Workout: Groups of 3 by speed. 3 man catch me if you can indian runs and do 3 laps. 1st lap the pax does 3 burpees. 2nd lap 4 squats, and 3rd lap 5 merkins.

As groups finished go pick up the 6.

Met at bottom of ramp for 7’s to the top. Burpees at the top and WWII’s at the bottom. Modified mid way to only run half the ramp up.

Mary: Pax stayed in Plank for 8 minutes. During plank pax did right and left arm up, side crunches, Peter Parkers, Pickle Pounders, and merkin clock with stops at 12, 9, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1. Held plank and then finished with 5 merkins.

Form and Function

I was excited to Q today.  I recently purchased Onnit Kettble Program and decided that we need to work on form at Ivan.  We don’t always have to have an extremely intense workout and we need to work on form from time to time.  I woke up early and ready to go.

On the way to the workout I saw a Black Bear.  I knew today was going to be a good day.  It was just outside the twelve oaks entrance on Green Oaks.  Close to where Cowboy works.  I hope he is enjoying is time off.

I arrived for EC and what do I see.  Dumbo ready to leave Dawg in the dust.  Lucky driving a non company truck, Dahmer looking ready to get after it.  As always there was Pikachu’s SUV, but no Pikachu.  It must be tough trying to run 5o plus miles a week.  Sleep in not a priority for that man.  Before we left 187 came to show us how it is supposed to go down.  We began the EC trip leaving the Ivan parking lot.  As we approached Cletus parking lot SlideRule and a shirtless, but not vestless, Banana Seat greeted us.  Enough about them they didn’t attend Ivan.  We ran up Stinson and Dumbo and Dawg made a left and everyone else made a right.  As Dawg tried to keep up with Dumbo he started to fall behind.  Then Dumbo probably did one of the shortest pick up the six in F3 history.

We then saw Bullseye and Aquaman on the baseball field looking at the ISS.  As Dumbo slowed down to stay with me we finished the run with a couple of moments to spare.  It was time to work on form and function.  I did not see Axe running but he looked sweaty so he must have been out there.

Also I noticed ShamWow!!! was back in action which is nice to see.

Warm Up:Mosey to baseball field complex.
The Workout:Partner up! We dived up the complex into 4 quadrants. 12-3:00, 3-6:00, 6-9:00 and 9-12:00. Leaving one partner in the middle doing as many merkins as possible, the other ran out to the main path around the whole complex at 12:00 and proceeded along to 3:00 then back to center and repeat with partner. Then 3-6:00 were continuous burpees until partner returned, repeat. 6-9:00 were squat jumps and 9-12:00 was a LBC into a WWII as a 1ct. each quadrant was about 1/3 of a mile run. Repeat until no more time allowed. 3+ miles with increased intervals.
Mary:Mosey back to tennis courts. On the way back YHC mentioned that we should name the workout we just did. Peeping Tom, dripping with sweat, said “vanilla would be good”. Why, YHC asked? “Because it was plain and repetitive” he said……YHC, a bit deflated, mainly from getting after it, entered the tennis courts super excited to see what glitz and glam Peeping Tom has on his next Q!

Rise of the Dodo Bird

20 Pax showed up for a beatdown by YHC after a week of being downrange. It was good to be back in the gloom with these HIMs and this morning was no different. A strong crowd for EC on a hot and muggy morning, the definition of gloom. Breathtaker made an appearance after the reassurance that running was not the focus of the morning. There were chafed nipples, a malfunctioning light vest, and a Skidmark. As 0530 hit, with no FNGs and 1 self proclaimed Kotter, we were off

The Workout:
Everybody was warm, so we moseyed to the Path to nowhere for:
People’s chair – 5 count by pax. This took a really long time, resulting in mumble chatter about partner leg massages and 187’s strong legs from carrying so much weight around.
Ascending testicles – 1 round

Mosey To loading dock grab 2 rocks
Curls were done while the 6 arrived

Circled up for 2 rounds of:
Overhead press
Triceps extensions
Dodo bird – 187 gave history of the dodo bird
Curls for the girls

This circuit was going pretty smooth, but got way off track when 187 gave Pax a history of the dodo bird. Apparently they are extinct, can’t fly, and ate rocks to digest berries. Pax stopped counting, so many dodo birds where done until we got to a 15 count. This mumble chatter approached Carpex status.

With tired arms, we moseyed to guard rail for 2 rounds of:

Mosey back toward start, stopping at far end of lot. Pax grumbled when YHC told them to partner up based on leg weight. We
Wheelbarrowed back to start with burpees when switch, increasing each time.

Butt holes and shoe holes but no squat holds

FNGs: Cobbler

EC: 187, Axe, Chips, Dawgpound, Dumbo, Emeril, Lipsync, Liquid Force, Pablo. 3 other PAX did some form of EC – Sidmark was out when YHC arrived at 5:05. M4L and Pikachu both ran from home to Ting.

Warm Up: 10 x Good Mornings, 30 x SSH, 10 x IW/Hillbillies, Bat Wings (10 arm circles forwards and 10 reverse, 10 seal claps, 10 overhead claps, 10 seal claps).

The Workout: Scout run to the green way across the street (1 mile there). The PAX were unfamiliar with a Scout Run and apparently YHC isn’t good at explaining thing because this was a ball of nonsense running through the neighborhood. The idea is that we form a LINE and the person at the front sprints as far as they like and then returns to the back of the LINE. We will try this again!

Launching from the top of the cul de sac we did Triple Nickle. PAX perform 5 big boy sit ups at the top of the hill and then run to the bottom and do 5 burpees. Rinse and repeat 5 times. A small group of PAX finished early so in lieu of a squat hold they did a 6th round. (1.2ish miles on the hill).

Mosey back to the parking lot to see if the hot chick Mary was going to be there today. It wasn’t in the cards again but my suspicion is that the high humidity had her hair all frizzy and she didn’t want to come out. Perhaps something else came up. Either way, we have a few minutes to kill before we name the FNG.

As we are closing out a couple of PAX revisited elementary health class to remind us that we all have a hole in our butts. #OnlyInTheGloom! The FNG had a rather used pair of shoes on today resulting in the name Cobbler and thereby saving Schnuckles for the next unsuspecting FNG.

Warm Up: Burpees for late PAX, SSH, Daisy Picker, Good Morning, Imperial Walker, Hill Billy

The Workout: Indian run to Ivan parking lot.  Pattycake merkins (5 each set), repeat as pair at the back runs to the front.  Completed 1 circuit.

Mosey to the rock pile, forward, backward, carioca.  Take a medium rock into the parking lot next to the baseball diamond.

Corner 1: 10 squats with rock overhead.  Duck Cusac (duck walk with rock overhead) full length of parking lot to corner 2.

Corner 2: 10 wonderbras.  Bear crawl pushing rock to corner 3.

Corner 3: 10 curls, 10 overhead press, 10 tricep press.  Crab walk with rock on stomach full length of parking lot to corner 4.

Corner 4: 10 merkins with right hand on rock, 10 merkins with left hand on rock.

Mosey with rock to small hill next to baseball diamond for 7s.

Squat curls at the bottom, overhead press/tricep press at the top.  YHC lost the count at some point and 7s became 8s; modify as necessary.

Mosey to rock pile to return rocks, continue to tennis courts.

Burpee ladder: sprint to half court, return and do 5 burpees.  Sprint full court, return and do 5 burpees.  Rinse and repeat.

Merkin ladder: sprint to half court, 5 merkins.  Return, 5 merkins.  Sprint full court, 5 merkins.  Return, 5 merkins.

Burpee ladder 2: Sprint to half court, return, sprint full court, return and do 5 burpees.

The Workout: Head over to the GCF parking lot and partner up. Share the exercises below with your partner. One partner jogs down to the dead end and back. Switch out each time. Once finished, hold plank for the 6.

With the same partner. One crab walks one side of parking lot to other. The other partner performs plank shuffles around the oval curb. Once this partner finishes a circle, they switch. Add crab walks and sliding. Also subbed in crab walk shuffles on the curb.
