Little bit of everything at The Nest

YHC pulled in just in time to hit the crapper and get things started at 0530. We had 5 total PAX ready to roll but not sure what they had coming for them. Here’s what happened at The Nest.

Warm up lap around the block stopping at corners
SSH’s x20 IC
Windmill x10 IC
Merkins x20
Prisoner squats x20
Girl fight x15 IC

Over to the school ramp
Crawl bear up the 3 ramps then rail slide down
Reverse: bear crawl up and rails down
Go to the stairs for some wheelbarrow merkins. A crowd pleaser. Rinse and repeat.
Indian run down to baseball field

Mosey to the diamond
Vicious circle – PAX in a single line starting at home plate. Lunge around all the bases. Man in the back moseys to mound, performs 5 burpees, then returns to front of line. Next man up.
Balls to the fence 50 count
Same thing with bear crawl around the bases. At mound do 10 star jumps.
Wall sit 50 count
Same thing with frog hop. 10 side to side merkins.

Mosey up to shelter to start Mary
Side planks with feet on bench, switch sides
Pretzels
X’ s and O’s
Reverse LBCs
Pickle pounders
American hammers
J-Lo’s

It’s been a minute since I’ve been at the Nest. This is a great AO and need to visit more often. Appreciate you all sticking with me on the crazy exercises I call. Great job!

Rocks, step ups and a sense of impending doom.

FNGs: none
Warm Up: Rounded up with the guys from Red October for SSH, Windmills, Imperial Walkers, Hillbillies, Sure Fazio Arm Circles, Seal
The Workout: PAX moseyed over to the rock pile. 3 rounds of Curls for the Girls, tricep extensions, goblet squats, ruh rows and chest presses. 30 each. Quick mosey around the circle and 10 SSH in between each round. Returned the rocks.

Next, we did 30 step ups followed by Urkins/Durkins/Dips. Two rounds of that. Then we moseyed back for Mary.
Mary: Red October joined us again for Mary. WWIIs, LBCs, Homer to Marge, Freddie Mercurys, Windshield Wipers and one i can’t remember the name of (maybe “high/lows”). Finished up with some quick yoga.

The Workout: Tour of Fuquay. Start with walk like an Egyptian to wake up our legs. Then a mosey to Ashbury park for a circuit of exercises. Step ups, Turkish getups, dips, irkins, bunny hops. Mosey to centennial park for Welsh dragons across the field. Mosey back to falcon Park for Mary.

Parking lot beatdown at the Nest

FNGs: N/a
Warm Up: 2 for EC. A quick mosey around the parking lot and circle up for side straddle hops, good mornings, imperial walkers, hillbillies, arm circles forward and reverse, and Michael Phelps.
The Workout:

Dora -pickup 6 after each
100 Australian mtn climbers on wall, other Pax runs a lap then switch
200 split lunges, other pax does a dead hang for as long as they can then switch
300 shoulder taps, other Pax sprints down and Moseys back to switch

Interval Circuits 20 seconds on, 10 seconds off
1 Chest – irkin, jump rope, Derkin, jump rope  2 Legs -prisoner squats, mtn climbers, star jumps, mtn climbers
3 Shoulders -Dry docks, jab cross, bttw, jab cross
4 Back -Superman pull downs, jump rope, homer to marge, jump rope
5 Biceps -Bicep merkin, mtn climbers, Bicep merkin, mtn climbers
6 Triceps -dips, jab cross, dips, jab cross

Time to fly at the Nest

FNGs: N/a
Warm Up: Solo EC run to scout some destinations.
At 05:30 on the dot we circled up for side straddle hops, arm circles, seal claps, arm circles reverse, overhead claps, imperial walkers, arm circles, seal claps, arm circles reverse, overhead claps. Lots of flapping done as we prepared to leave the nest.
The Workout: Time to go! Left the park and made our way over to the big hill on church st. 1 squat jump at the top of the hill, made our way to the bottom for 10 mtn climbers in cadence. Back up the hill for 2 squat jumps, back down for 9 mtn climbers. Continue the trend until we completed 4 squat jumps and 7 mtn climbers. Then we completed 25 squat jumps at the top and 25 mtn climbers at the bottom as time and legs became a factor.

Left the hill and made our way to the school steps. 1 merkin at the bottom, run up and down the steps, 1 merkin at the bottom, 2 merkins on step 1, run up and down the steps, 1 merkin at the bottom, 2 merkins on step 1, 3 on step 2, continue the pattern up the 10 steps but counting back down after 5. We all joined together at the end for 1 merkin at the top, 2 on the first step down, 3 on the next…4,5,5,4,3,2,1.

We then left the steps that made us miss the hill and went over to do rail crawls up both rails.

On to our last destination, the long ramp up to the park. We bear crawled what seemed like forever and whenever a pax stopped they did 10 monkey humpers before crawling again.
Mary: we finally returned to the nest for some Ab(ish) work. 10 monkey humpers, 20 low slow flutter, 20 homer to marge, 20 pickle pounders, 20 reverse LBCs, 10 side crunches each side, and 10 hello dollys before have a nice day.

A newly moved Fuquay-Varina resident was on wheel of fortune. Pat asked, what does Fuquay-Varina mean? “I don’t know” . Oh man, let’s take a tour so we don’t make the same mistake.

The Workout: A tour to Fuquay Springs Mineral Park with exercises and town history scattered song the way. Exercises: Foxhole, Up downs, Quadhilla, Underdogs, Angle grinders, Y-super man lifts.

TRX is No Joke

Seven PAX joined up for some TRX.  It was great to see Smalls and Noah’s Ark out there!

Warm Up: LED led the warmup for both Mutiny and Red October
The Workout: Round Robin and switch ups of using TRX and Kettlebells. We definitely worked the body with combo squats and bicep curls along with skaters, High Y, and Wide flies, squats, core, etc.
Prayer: For Norm and is family for safe travels and his new venture in El Paso. He will be missed.

ABsolutely fantastic time at Mutiny

Warm Up: I/C SSH, IW, Hillbillies, Goodmornings, Frankesntien’s, Daisy Pickers, SFAC, 5 Burpees for not starting on time by site Q. 5 more Burpees for Norm being late.
The Workout: Everything done in tennis court. Start at net 5 LBC, Crawl Bear to mid court and stack 5 LBC, 10 Big Boy Sit-ups, Crawl Bear to end line and stack 5 LBC, 10 BB, 15 WWII, Crawl bear to fence into BTTW. Hold position for the six. BTTW slide shuffle to next court over to same position on previous court. Reverse the stack pattern with Bear Crawls back to the net. Swinging Gate to fence and did Guantanamos to the other side tennis court’s fence. Repeat Bear Crawls bears, BTTW, BTTW slide and Crawl bears. this time at the lines it was Plank hold for 15 i/c, 10 side raises, each side, 5 Oblique crunches. Swinging gate and Guantanamo’s to original start.
Mary: Complaining about Q’s direction earned 5 burpees. More Complaining earned another 5. Burpees for Breach became the catch phrase. Freddy Mercuries, Scissors, Meat Gazers, Meat Gazers w/ legs crossed, Leg Climb. 5 more burpees for good measure.

My Little Friend

We kept it leg friendly today, but that doesn’t mean easy.

FNGs: None
Warm Up: SSH, Imperial Walkers, Willie Mays Haze, Frankenstein, Michael Phelps
The Workout: A four corners stack, but we substitute the mosey between each corner with something different with the Kettlebell.

Stack 1: Merkins, Nipplers, Carolina Dry Docks, Angle Grinders. Move between each corner with a kettle bell bucket brigade.

Stack 2: LBCs, Plank Hold, Meat Gazers, Outlaws. Move between each corner with a kettle bell lunge walk, indian run style.

Stack 3: Hover Merkin, Squat hold seal claps and overhead claps, Jack Webbs, Balls to the wall. Move between each corner with John Cusack.

Mary: Done during round 2

Rockin at the Grave

Warm Up: Mosey around parking lot followed by SSH’s, Good mornings, Windmills, Down Dog into Pigeon stretches, and ending with Imperial Walkers.

The Workout: We took a trip to the rock pile to do a circuit of rock exercises followed by a lap around the community center gym after completing each set.  The sets consisted of curls for the girls, overhead press, tricep extensions, all in cadence to 10.  Then rock merkins 10 each arm, ending with rut rows and a lap.  Next, we did a circuit of 10 WW2’s with a rock, bench press in cadence to 10, skull crushers to 10, and 10 bus drivers in cadence followed by a lap.  Next, round was a R/R of the first set with a lap.  Last set was all legs with rocks.  We did 20 sumo squats, 20 alternating lunges, and 25 calf raises in cadence and R/R before we took our last lap around the community center.
Mary: We did a merry-go-round of ab exercises to get those nice chiseled abdominals.
