Groundpounder Backblast- The Rock is my Friend

Pax of 8 showed up for some fun in the sun on a humid Saturday morning. Pikachu, Dauber, Doc, Pac-Man, Lipstick(W/Breathtaker) Cupid 8-Bit and Breach on the Q

FNGs: None

Warm-Up: Started with a light jog around the pond and circle up for 22 counts of SSH, Imperial Walkers, Prisoner squats, Pickers, and Frankensteins

The Workout: The workout started like any normal workout with a traveling Merkin session around the bricks on the baseball field, then on to some quick feet, where Pickachu knocked his grape on the pole of the batting cage. We moseyed over to the wall for some step-ups. naturally 11 on each side for 22 total count and some dips to finish it off.

We caught some wall for balls and peoples chair before heading over to the rock pile to find some friends. After that, if a pax member dropped a rock it was a 10 burpee penalty. We went to a nice shady spot in the parking lot for a circle of fun. Shoker here but it was 22 counts of Curls for the girls, Tricep extensions, Homer to Marge, Bus drivers, Groundpounders Truck twists, Low slow flutter, WWIIs, and Hello Dolly.

A little John Cusak action over to the grass where we circled up for some 90 degree holds followed by some more John Cusack while one member of the pax Duck walked weaved in and out of the pax. Followed by an accidental on purpose drop of the rock for 10 Burpees. John Cusak back to the rock pile to return our friends home for the day.

Mosey over to the disc golf putting area where we circled up for a plank meltdown. One pax member would bear crawl around the outside of the circle where the other members are holding a plank. Regular, chill cut arms up, arms out and so till all the pax went around the circle.

Mary: Last 3 minutes were spent with some yoga moves to stretch out the hips

Warm Up: 16-Bit warmed us up with smurf jacks, morracan night clubs, leg stretches, arm stretches, and a merkin circuit of 5 standard, 5 w/right leg up, 5 w/left leg up, and then 5 standard again.

The Workout:

–A Little P90X – “Do your best, forget the rest”

  1. Jump shot 15x
  2. Double Airborne Heisman
  3. Run Stance Squats (switch feet-looking forward, touch toe)
  4. Swing Kicks
  5. Twist Combo, tip-toe twist
  6. Leapfrog Squats

Howling Monkeys – We bent over and grabbed our ankles while each PAX did 5 Monkey Humpers

This is gonna be short and to the point.
Warm Up:Mosey to greenway with various stretching and exercises along the way. Windmills, high knees, butt kickers…..you get it, we were getting ready to run a bit.
The Workout:Took off out the green way in a 2 group indian run. YHC instructed that every time “DROP” was heard, PAX was to drop and do 2 DBL Merkin Burpees then continue as you were. In addition, at YHC’s direction we did various exercises together, never leaving the six. Merkins X20 in various forms, Derkins X20 at the bridge, step ups on the equipment, LBC’s IC X20 X20. I think there were other exercises but who’s counting. If you really want to know, you  should have been there! We went 1.5mi out and stopped at bottom of hill on the way back. YHC thought it would be a good idea to instruct everyone to run to top, do 5 burpees, down 5 burpees, up 4, down 4 and so on. that didn’t last long…….Indian run back for mary.

Top Gun VolleyBall…We Looked The Part Too

PAX of 9 joined in on some Top Gun Beach Volleyball. There were digs, and spikes, and sets, and falls…and that was just Dauber. It was nice to have a workout without shoes too 🙂

Warm Up: Stretches as we wanted to get right into the game.
The Workout: Beach VolleyBall. Whenever the ball hits the grass, a penalty exercise was called. The ball landed in the grass quite often prompting us to do Merkins, Monkey Humpers, Squats, LBCs, Burpees, and more. 3 games were played.
Mary: Our game went 15 min over so we went straight in to COT

That was the Warm-up?

Answering a call on FB, this HIM stepped up and led 15 PAX at Mutiny on this glorious humid morning.  Thank you FedEx/LipSync for the opportunity; always an honor to lead you men.  Arrived with 2 mins to start, planted shovel flag, showed the PAX my kid’s old Dora the Explorer towel for some motivation and promptly began beat down at 0530.

FNGs: None

Warm Up:  Jog around track.  Circle up for SSH, Cotton-Pickers, Hillbillies, Imperial Walkers, Sir Fazio Arm Circles, Static stretches.  Q, coming off a 2 week hiatus from the gloom, mixed up a few exercises (names) but stayed on course.  Dropped down into a 10 count merkin, throwing in some R/L arm raises, R/L leg lifts and proceeded to rinse and repeat 4X after moving 90 degrees after each set.  And THEN the workout began.  Shoulders burning.

 

The Workout:  Mosey to snack shack for Australian MC, People’s Chair Both 10CC, Rinse and Repeat.  (Very slippery). Mosey to parking lot, quick feet on curb switching from R-L foot lead foot halfway down parking lot.  Squat hold for 6.  Frankensteins to the round-about.  PAX grabbed a piece of curb in plank position and began an Indian run in the plank position moving to the right initially (side to side), back to the left, right, left until shoulders were shredded.  Mosey to the rock pile for medium or smaller rock.  Lined up in one line on soccer field.  Executed the following rock exercises (10 count/10 count cadence):  curls, triceps extensions, rut-rows, bus drivers, goblet Squats, O/H presses, O/H Squats, side to side.  Took 5 steps in between each set making our way to the other side of the pitch.  Dropped rocks.  Jog to the center pitch, come back; jog to the end of the pitch, come back.  Rinse and repeat rock exercises however, Q had PAX move to the right 2 or 3 spaces in between sets changing their rocks.  John Cusack to the center point in field.  On your six.  Executed the following rock exercises:  chest press, skull crushers, H2M, WWII, LBCs, 6 inches, 45 deg, 90 deg, (leg lifts while holding rock above chest or extended over head).  John Cusack to rock pile.  Squat hold for 6.  Run sideways L/R back to the tennis courts for Mary.

The Workout

Mosey to the wall of pain

3 sets of 45 ct wall sits (Al Gore, Moroccan and Prisoner style). Pikachu forgot how to count to 5 again and Doc was up to his antics with his unconventional methods as well. 

2 sets of 30ct Ascending Testicles

Mosey to the Rock Pile (Rotate rocks b/w sets). YHC suggested large but not XL rocks however 90% of the PAX chose not to listen and selected boulders.  YHC had to ask the PAX what XL rocks look like if these are just large.

  • 4 sets of 20’s – Curls for the girls
  • 4 sets of 20’s  – Overhead Tri-press
  • 4 sets of 10’s – Ground Pounders (they don’t count if the rock doesn’t touch the ground)

Move it up to the parking lot for 4 sets Rock Press; 3 sets of 10 Extended Rock Windshield Wipers

Partner up for 4 sets Rock Planks & Rock Crab Planks.  One partner planks while the other lunge walks/Frankensteins to the speed bump and back.

Return the Rocks and circle up at flag

Prayers for Double D and his family as his father passed away this week. Forceps house is back on the market as contract fell through.

YHC knew he had a lot left in the tank but his son’s and 6 others commitment to get a 5 pack w/ EC and 2 for fritter drive him out of bed-
Love a little chit talking amongst others- kept my distance this morning-
Picked up yellow card- damn it is a 33 minute commitment was running few minutes late dropped him right behind Buford and told him to #getafterit- turned around to check the facilities at hunt center for lucky charms- since he was out of town – asked if would do him a favor- they were slacking – doors to bathrooms were propped open- unreal.
17 pax were already gathered- took few kettle bells out ‘tomater’ and planted the F-3 flag and glad site Q has a F-3 flag after being a site Q for over a year. Thanks Pablo.

Midget Goes To Thunder

Hot- loaded up my water cooler and when YHC pulled up saw Tofu snd Kabuto.
Few minutes later what wallaby.. really dude is getting after it. Pikachu rolled and doc in his shiny black car and asked why YHC did not post this am at his Q😅. Lastly saw John Deere with crutches in hand he said he wanted 2 be there for paki birthday- so thank you.
1900 and we went for a little mosey
And ended up on fake FC soccer field.

Thunder is great opportunity to recruit lots of guys since it is in the afternoon and many parents are just sitting waiting on kids to finish practice- we should encourage and try to get them out.

Kettlebell Boot Camp

Five men got stronger at TBD.  Excellent work gentlemen!

FNGs: Nay
Warm Up: SSH, daisy pickers, arm circles, seal claps, merkins.

The Workout: Partner up.  Each partner group has a kettlebell and a coupon (rock).  Mosey to the Ivan parking lot.

Greta 1-2-3.  Partner teams complete 100 squat-to-press with kettlebell, 200 one-arm kettlebell curls, 300 kettlebell sit ups.  While partner 1 does the work partner 2 takes the coupon for a run around the parking lot, leaving the coupon at the half-way point for partner 2 to pickup during the next lap.

Animal walk: bear crawl three parking lot spaces, 5 merkins done together; crab walk three spaces, 5 merkins done together; duck walk three spaces, 5 merkins done together.

Return the coupons and head to the picnic tables for irkins, derkins and dips X 15 each.

Mary: Mosey to the tennis courts for a plank-o-rama including plank jacks X 15, mountain climbers X 15, Rocky Balboas X 15, Homer-to-Marge (on Snap’s down AND up) X 15, Freddie Mercurys X 25.

Prayer: Words of wisdom shared by YHC about distinguishing what is urgent from what is important.  Busy lives often drive us to focus on what is urgent, but doing so without careful attention will cause us to miss what’s important – and it’s often the case that the urgent issues, in the long run, aren’t all that important.  F3 is my opportunity each morning to focus on what is important.  Circled up for Grace and Gratitude – thanks given by all PAX for family, F3, the opportunity to exercise the mind and body each morning.
