ECECEC: Pikachu (He has a problem)

ECEC: Cupid

EC: 187, Skidmark, Axe, Yogurt, Full House, Go-Gurt

FNGs: I don’t think so

Warm Up: Who needs a warm up? We broke into two indian runs and mosey about half mile over to the far lot by the baseball field for SSH x50. Then we continued down the greenway out of womble to the new Park Ave hood.
The Workout: YHC “Pax meet Park Ave Hill” “Back in the day I could throw a pig skin over that mountain, if coach would have put me in the game I would be soaking it up with my sole mates…but today, I am here with you and we are going to run over that mountain”  Credit: Uncle Rico     Workout: Pax paired up for accountability and we did hill repeats with 10 slow squats at the bottom for recovery. Repeat until YHC tells you not to (we got 7 total).  Pax then made there way back to womble
Mary: Abs? I don’t think so.  Pax did three sets of Suicides on the tennis courts

Total Miles covered 3.7 – Banana Seat and YHC carried some extra weight on their shoulders! Full House enjoy breathtaker!

Announcements: BRR run tomorrow. Sasquatch tomorrow.  Be on the look out for an announcement Sunday from Banana Seat on a you vs you challenge
T-Claps (Recognition): All Pax for putting up with my nonsense.  The Natural for coming out given the crap I got from last years Cletus trip to Sugg Farm for my first Q
Prayer: Go-Gurt’s father Ben, Double D’s family, Co-workers of Full House and UTI dealing with illness.  Abe’s co-worker who took his own life and his family left behind.

Pax if you ever feel alone or like nobody is listening to you, please speak up to your F3 Brothers.  We are here for you and willing to carry each others cross through life.

The Unnecessary Tour

It was an unusually cool morning at Disney this morning, which probably had PAX snuggling in tight in the fartsack to stay warm instead of posting in the gloom. YHC decided to celebrate his 1 year with F3 with a Q at Disney as it is the best AO (at least until Purple Cobra launched) and happiest place on earth. I took PAX on a journey of Disney recounting some of the most memorable workouts from my 1st few weeks that made me realize just how much I needed F3. Looking back, this was a pretty crappy (difficult) 1st couple weeks of workouts. Thanks guys! I started coming to get in better shape and definitely accomplished that. I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been in, but F3 is #morethanaworkout. The 2nd F (fellowship) is what has kept me coming back out and has really cemented how special this group is. Now enough of the sappy stuff. We had 3 for EC, and 6 for the Main Event. It was an honor to lead this morning!

EC: Axe, Pablo, Warbucks

FNGs: Nope

Warm Up:
Mosey to the big lot and circled up for SSH x20, Windmill x10, Moroccan Night Club x10

The Workout:
Thang 1:
This one was inspired by a Nemo Q my 2nd week at F3. This one sucked and I wanted to bring this one back. To get a full sense of this workout, the temperatures needed to be about 10 degrees warmer, but I’m sure the Pax got the idea.

Mosey around big lot, stopping 6 times around the lot for:
Stop 1: 12 merkin
Stop 2: 12 jump squat
Stop 3: 12 WWII
Stop 4: 12 shoulder taps
Stop 5: 12 mountain climbers
Stop 6: 12 pickle pounders

Not sure why 12 was the number for Nemo that day, but I went with it. Pablo asked if it was for 12 months (1 year for those numerically challenged) and of course I agreed. So 12’s were the number of the day today. 12 is also a very hard number to call cadence for and YHC goofed this up quite a few times, but the PAX were more than willing to provide correction.

PAX then lined up at the end of the lot for suicides. Sprint to 1st island, do exercise x12, mosey back to start, sprint to 2nd island, do x12 of 2nd exercise
You get the picture. Exercises were the same as above. Squat hold for the 6, a 10 count, and we were off to our 2nd stop, The Abyss. Quiver was very adamant that he didn’t need a tour, so off we went.

Thang 2:
This one was loosely inspired by a UTI Q the following week at F3 and many other abyss workouts since. As the new guy I had no idea what the abyss was when it was called, but soon realized what the mumblechatter was all about.

This one was simple, but effective. Split into 2 groups to avoid crowding stairs. Group 1 started with 12 LBC’s at the top and Group 2 ran to the bottom of the abyss for 10 merkins. This was repeated for 3 rounds (except Axe who got 4). LBC’s for the 6 and we were off to the half pipe.

Thang 3:
This one was inspired by a Double D beadown on my first trip to Possum Trot, the day before UTI’s beatdown noted previously. 11’s on a hill suck.

Pax started on the back side of the half pipe for some 7’s (due to time) with star jumps at the top and burpees at the bottom. I forgot about bear crawling up the hill, but there’s always next time. Early finishers did 7 star jumps and 7 burpees as the 6 finished up.

Thang 3.5:
With Mary not quite ready, we mosey’s over to the shelter by the flag. Partner 1 held BTTW while Partner 2 did 12 box jumps on the playground wall. Each partner got a turn and we circled up by the flag for Mary. This was also part of the aforementioned UTI Q.

Mary:
Homer to Marge x12
YHC asked PAX to call out an exercise. We did:
LSF, boat canoes, Freddy Mercury, Box cutters, and a couple of others I forgot.
Homer to Marge x6 w/ each leg up and x6 regular.

Announcements:

T-Claps (Recognition):

Quiver’s daughter’s starting school today, Crableg’s ALS tour, unspokens.

He Does Have a Whistle

6 Pax at R4TJ, 7 if count Nemo out for run early this morning. YHC planned about an hour long workout and as promised brought his whistle, and no it did not come from Play It Again Sports. 5 Pax circled and got ready to mosey when a black Silverado come rolling in HOT!! Pax did SSH until Lipstick joined us, and he didn’t appear to be in any hurry once he got out of the truck.

FNGs: None today
Warm Up: 3 man Indian Runs to the traffic light and back to warm-up the legs.
The Workout: Today’s focus was tempo runs. Pax would start out at a 5K-10K pace for a certain amount of time, Q would blow the whistle and Pax would slow to recovery pace. Faster Pax would turn back for the 6. The recovery period was an allotted time or the time it took to pick up the 6, whichever was longer. Workout went as follows:

3 min hard run – 1 min recovery

3 min hard run – 1 min recovery

3 min hard run – 1 min recovery

3 min hard run – 1 min recovery

3 min hard run – 1 min recovery

4 min hard run – 2 min recovery

2 min hard run.

Pax met at the top of the ramp. Pax did sprints down the ramp all the way to the stop sign and recover jog up the hill to the top. Pax did squat hold until the 6 got there and then all Pax did 10 squats. Rinse and repeat 4x.

Finished off with a 6 man Indian Run to the traffic light and back to the vehicles for Mary.

Announcements: BRR training day Saturday, Sasquatch Saturday

T-Claps (Recognition):

Prayer: Being better leaders in the community. Lipstick’s flexibility

Still hard a year later…

PAX of 18 to celebrate YHC 1 year anniversary by revisiting his first F3 workout. One year ago today, Stark made his triumphant return to South Wake with an epic beatdown at Paradise City. YHC was an innocent victim merloting not once, but twice during the workout. An honor Midget likes to remind me of at least weekly, if not more often.

Thanks to all who came out to support me today. More importantly, thanks to the men of South Wake for the support, encouragement and accountability over the last year. Just showing up was one of the best things I’ve ever done. My life has changed because of and continues to be enriched by you HIM. Thanks to you all, especially 187 and Pablo for the headlock.

Axe hung back last week, but this time we all circled back to pick up our tardy comrade. As the F3 mantra goes: we leave no man behind, but leave no man where we found him. Form and Function

I was excited to Q today.  I recently purchased Onnit Kettble Program and decided that we need to work on form at Ivan.  We don’t always have to have an extremely intense workout and we need to work on form from time to time.  I woke up early and ready to go.

On the way to the workout I saw a Black Bear.  I knew today was going to be a good day.  It was just outside the twelve oaks entrance on Green Oaks.  Close to where Cowboy works.  I hope he is enjoying is time off.

I arrived for EC and what do I see.  Dumbo ready to leave Dawg in the dust.  Lucky driving a non company truck, Dahmer looking ready to get after it.  As always there was Pikachu’s SUV, but no Pikachu.  It must be tough trying to run 5o plus miles a week.  Sleep in not a priority for that man.  Before we left 187 came to show us how it is supposed to go down.  We began the EC trip leaving the Ivan parking lot.  As we approached Cletus parking lot SlideRule and a shirtless, but not vestless, Banana Seat greeted us.  Enough about them they didn’t attend Ivan.  We ran up Stinson and Dumbo and Dawg made a left and everyone else made a right.  As Dawg tried to keep up with Dumbo he started to fall behind.  Then Dumbo probably did one of the shortest pick up the six in F3 history.

We then saw Bullseye and Aquaman on the baseball field looking at the ISS.  As Dumbo slowed down to stay with me we finished the run with a couple of moments to spare.  It was time to work on form and function.  I did not see Axe running but he looked sweaty so he must have been out there.

Also I noticed ShamWow!!! was back in action which is nice to see.

Rise of the Dodo Bird

20 Pax showed up for a beatdown by YHC after a week of being downrange. It was good to be back in the gloom with these HIMs and this morning was no different. A strong crowd for EC on a hot and muggy morning, the definition of gloom. Breathtaker made an appearance after the reassurance that running was not the focus of the morning. There were chafed nipples, a malfunctioning light vest, and a Skidmark. As 0530 hit, with no FNGs and 1 self proclaimed Kotter, we were off

ECEC: Warbucks, Skidmark, Redenbacher, UTI
EC: Warbucks, Skidmark, Redenbacher, UTI, Axe, 187, Plex, Dahmer
Skins: Skidmark, UTI, Warbucks

Warm Up:
SSH x30 IC

hillbilly 10 IC
squat 10 IC
sir fazio arm circles 10/10 IC
moroccan night clubs 10 IC
seal claps 10 IC
overhead claps 20 IC

The Workout:
Everybody was warm, so we moseyed to the Path to nowhere for:
People’s chair – 5 count by pax. This took a really long time, resulting in mumble chatter about partner leg massages and 187’s strong legs from carrying so much weight around.
Ascending testicles – 1 round
mosey to better wall for round 2

Mosey To loading dock grab 2 rocks
Curls were done while the 6 arrived

Circled up for 2 rounds of:
Overhead press
Triceps extensions
Dodo bird – 187 gave history of the dodo bird
Curls for the girls

This circuit was going pretty smooth, but got way off track when 187 gave Pax a history of the dodo bird. Apparently they are extinct, can’t fly, and ate rocks to digest berries. Pax stopped counting, so many dodo birds where done until we got to a 15 count. This mumble chatter approached Carpex status.

With tired arms, we moseyed to guard rail for 2 rounds of:
Dips
Derkins
Underdogs

Mosey back toward start, stopping at far end of lot. Pax grumbled when YHC told them to partner up based on leg weight. We
Wheelbarrowed back to start with burpees when switch, increasing each time.

Mary:
With Mary awaiting, we moseyed back to the flag where Dahmer led the following while I retrieved my phone:
LBC
LSF
Freddy Mercury
PicklePounder
Homer to Marge
