Knockout at Kenny’s Grave

FNGs: None

Warm Up: Lap around the parking lot, followed by 20 SSH IC, 10 burpees for our late arrivals, 15 Morrocan nightclubs IC, 15 windmills IC. Michael Phelps it out and then mosey to basketball court.

The Workout: We played Knockout. We had a penalty exercise (burpees!) every time you were knocked out to get back in, and all PAX except the two shooters and one queued up held plank while waiting for their next turn. We modified the penalty and waiting exercises a few times.

We also had a variety of entertaining misses from just about all PAX, much laughter was had.

Three final games where PAX who got knocked out had to do exercises of their choice until we had a winner. Sprinkler won once and Messi won twice, good job guys!

Mary: We went around the circle and each PAX called out an exercise. Alphabet soup, heel taps, mountain climbers, LBCs, pickle pounders, H2M, can’t remember the rest. It was humid and we all were sweating fiercely from the ab workout by the end.

Moseyed to the wall for:

BTTW, each PAX counts to 10

People’s Chair, each PAX counts to 10

Repeat for 8 count then 6 count.

Circled up so YHC could explain the next exercise…partner chase BLIMPS! (5x Burpee, 10x Lunge, 15x Imperial Walker, 20x Merkin, 25x Plank Jack, 30x Squats). Partnered up and partner 1 took off around the block. Partner 2 did the first exercise and caught up to Partner 1, who then did the same thing. Got through BLIMP before we ran out of time.

Back to the wall to finish off BTTW and People’s chair for 4 count and 2 count. Lots of mumblechatter on the 2 count probably made it longer than the 4 count.

Are We Playing Ultimate Today!!!

As we were waiting for the clock to strike 5:30 our little circle kept getting big as Pax continued to arrive. This prompted Gump to ask “Are we playing ultimate today?” because we ended up having 19 Pax come out to the gloom at Mutiny, with 4 doing EC, and with that we started with a lap around the track.

Warm Up: SSH x 25, Fozie Arm Circles F x 10 R x 10, Imperial Walkers x 10, Punch Up Merkins IC x 20

The Workout: Lined up across the parking lot to do  break dancers and bear crawls. Started at the first line with 1 break dancer and then bear crawl to the first line then crawl bear back to start, then do 2 break dancers and bear crawl to the second line then crawl bear back to start, etc….. Went up to 5.     We then moysed over to the rock pile to pick an exercise friendly rock. Had the Pax line up on the field for 7 exercise circuits, 10 circuits starting with 10 reps IC with each circuit decreasing by one rep and you couldn’t drop your rock until we all got through the circuit or we’d all be doing 5 burpees OYO. Needless to say one person, not saying any names, kept dropping his rock. The exercises were curls for the girls, shoulder press, tricep extension, rut rows, squats, upright rows, and chest press.

Warm Up: Lap around the track, 11 SSH, 11 Imperial Walkers, 11 Hill Billies, 11 Good Mornings, 11 SFAC, 11 Annies.
The Workout: Moseyed over to the rock pile for medium size rock.  We had 5 sets of 11s planned out but quickly found out that 11s with burpees takes awhile to get through.  First set, 11s with tricep extension/burpees, running across parking lot between each action.  Second set, 11s with Curls/Merkins, again running across parking lot between each action. Returned rocks, and a quick lap around the parking lot for good measure.

Better Late than Never – UvU3

UvU Day 3. Evidently my body was feeling it today. YHC had a difficult morning getting things going. Alarm was set for 0430. Slept right through it. 0523 on the phone and I had to do a double take. I shot out of bed shaking about what to do. Missed EC already. Barely got my contacts in and forgot to drain the main vain. Shot out the door and text Emeril asking him to do warm ups until I arrived. Pulled up to the first stop sign and an elderly person in a Cadillac pulled out first, ah great just my luck. However, this person had a lead foot I appreciated. Both of us hauling tail down Angier Rd. YHC arrived 0536 as warm ups were wrapping up. Took a second to release my liquid before running over to the plethora of HIM all ready to get started. I apologized to the group and did my 5 burpees OYO. Then we blasted off due to my adrenaline rush still on high.

Starting at home plate fence – Hand release merkins in the dirt
Run to center field – Morning Wood (Turkish Get Up) in dew soaked grass
It’s kind of like a Sugar Cookie but not as bad.

Mosey over to tennis courts
Line up on fence directly across from entrance gate for Crabs in a Bucket (but with bear crawls bc Q gave bad instructions)
PAX split in half and went in opposite directions until we reached back at the entrance gate

Next we did 1-legged burpees OYO x5 each leg

Partner up
Broken Wheelbarrow (one leg free) from fence to nets. Switch partners and come back.
Bull Frogs on IR (never been done, one legged) from fence to nets. Switch and return.

I know it’s probably no big deal to the PAX but I was truly embarrassed about being late today. My body shut down from hearing my alarm which typically I don’t even have to use one. Great job to all you guys for the hard work today. Hopefully, no more malfunctions this week.

The Workout: Ultimate Frisbee!

Mary: Nah, we played right up until 0615.

YHC Dovetail was out last week, Martini covered, but back into this week. Return of Gump, and new-to-this-AO Yosemite. Dovetail’s 2.0 Charizard out for another one, at his own request. A bit young at 8 to participate fully, but if he wants to get up at 5 with Dad, I can’t say no!

He Came Out Of The Darkness

I arrive to the AO about 5 minutes before start time as I turn back to my car to get my gloves a figure comes out of the darkness on the playground side of The Nest, startled I quickly realized it was R-22 coming for a beat down after sometime away. 9 showed up for a beat down with 3 doing EC.

Warm Up: Took a jog around the parking lot and then circled up for some Good Mornings, Imperial Walkers, Hillbillies, Fozie Arm Circles, Cherry Pickers and stretches. We then got on our 6 for some Febreezes, which are big boy sit-ups followed by air presses with your feet six inches off the ground.

The Workout: Moysed over to the wall where we partnered up, to Dauber and R-22 disappointment we did not do BTW. P1 did “Bobby Hurley’s” while P2 ran to the first island, did 1 burpee and ran back, then ran to the light pole and did 2 burpees, then ran back for the switch. We did this 2x.

 

Moysed to the top parking lot – side road for some partner Merkins x 10,  then as P1 ran down the side road while P2 did SSH, Plank Jacks, and Mountain Climbers x 10. Switch. After P2 returns, both pax ran down together and did partner jump squats. Both ran back up to rinse and repeat.

A quiet day at the park

Today was YHC’s last day as site Q for Kenny’s Grave. The year flew by and now it’s in another HIM’s leadership, Modify. PAX of 10 showed up with what seemed like muzzels on there mouths. Not much chatter at all as we took care of business. The weather was pleasantly cooler and the grass was full of dew. EC finished up at 0527 so Q had about 2 mins to spare. Here is what we did.

Welsh Dragons- 4 bear crawls, 1 merkin, 1 plank jack, tap back of each shoulder. 4 bears, 2 merkins, 2 plank jacks, back shoulder taps x2 each, increased reps by 1 up to 10 total.
