Dump or Super Bowl – Both Stunk

22 Pax gathered in the smelliest part of Holly Springs for a Monday morning beatdown. Q was a little upset with the result so made sure to take it out on the Pax. Very few Pats fans showed up but I doubt they could handle it anyway.

EC: 187, Cowboy, Crosby, UTI, Full House, Pablo, Pikachu, Dawgpound, Skidmark

Warm Up: Mosey for one loop with stops to do Good Mornings, SSH, and Windmills. Once back at the court Pax paired up by ability and speed. It was only logical that Dawgpound requested to be Lucky’s partner. Somebody needed to make sure we gave Lucky a push. Kudos DP.

The Workout: Catch me if you can partner runs. 1st loop 2 Double Merkin Burpees. 2nd loop around 3 squat jumps. 3rd time around 5 merkins. Once at the end circle back for the 6 doing 5 LBCs.

Mosey to the ramp for some 7’s. Reverse merkins at the bottom and star jumps halfway up the ramp.

Mary: Merkin clock with stops at 12, 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 12.

I pulled up to setup and there were a lot cars there already.  This means EC happened. I though wasn’t there so the EC list is probably wrong.

Ran to the parking lot to pick up Chips.  He was just taking his time making his way to the playground.  Ran back to the playground and circled up for a quick warm up.

24 present at COT and 27 total for the run this morning. Various places and distances. Beautiful morning. Wondered who was up ahead and the comment was “maybe it’s Maybelline.”

Warbucks Joins Crazy Time

Warbucks decided to check out this crazy time thing – good thing or YHC would’ve been solo. First Friday in February so the workout has changed – turns out this iteration is much quicker than a murph.

Warm Up: SSH(20), Daisy Pickers(10), Sir Fazio ⤵️⤴️, arm stretches, Grab a Cinder Block and John Cusack it to BB P.Lot.

The Workout: Bear Crawl Pulls 5 Spaces till the end of Parking Lot then John Cusack Lunges 5 Spaces on the way back.

Each 5 repeating and adding the next exercises.. Pax took turns calling the count.

Gump Again?

PAX of 12 showed up for another beating from Gump this week. We toured beautiful downtown Varina.

Warm Up: A long Mosey to the storage building for some SSH, Good Mornings and Bear Crawl Ring of Fire with each PAX doing 10 Merkins in succession.

The Workout:

  • Mosey’d over to the downtown flag with Big Boy Step Ups, Dip, Irkins and Wall lunges
  • Mosey’d to the Furniture store wall for some ridiculous-looking Danielsons, High Jumps on the wall, Wall Merkins and Claps, Wall Crunches
  • Mosey’d to the Aviator Bottle Shop for BTTW, BTTW Mountain Climbers, Homer to Marge right and left on the wall, Windshield Wipers
  • Mosey’d to Aviator Taproom for Bridges with Duck Walks back, Plank Jacks and Crab Jacks
  • Mosey’d to the Breezeway for some Dirkins, Crucible Merkins, Wall Lunges, and Irkins

Mary: Around the Horn Mary for almost 10 minutes

Ice Ice Baby

If you ever have a chance to run Neuse River Trail it is worth the drive.

4 pax converged on Neuse River Trail for a 7 am start but one pax but in the wrong directions and there was a slight detour.

There was some quick mumble chatter and we set off with all the essentials: tailwind, goo, protein bars, gloves, hats, etc..

A little chilly for the run but no wind. We headed south on the trail for a few miles. 1st ice patch up and skidmark got some wet feet trying to avoid a trail wide sheet of ice.  After about 2 miles quick stop for a COT and so skidmark could defrost his camelback. Hose froze and he couldn’t get any nutrition. One pax pissed at this time.

Continued to mosey down the trail to mile 5 for a turn around. Again a quick COT so skidmark could defrost his camelback and two pax could piss.

Nice mosey back to the start where Double D left after 10 miles and skidmark, pikachu, and 187 could last little bit of 12 miles.

Well, way more ice patches along the way. Luckily no one busted their ass. Last 12 were pretty uneventful. Nice little grind coming in to the parking lot.

It’s funny how your body rejects walking after 22 miles. Like WTF are you doing g this for. All good for 22 miles then you start walking and your calves go to shit.

Some a have a nice days in the parking lot with a foam roller next to a used condom (not ours). Lots of recovery time as we popped pills, drank, and moaned in pain. Lots of good conversation.

Off to Starbucks. Leg cramps! A quick coffee. Skidmark had to steal someone’s water or we would still be waiting there. Fuck you Alan! I ran 22 miles today. You walked you ass in from the parking lot. I’m taking this water Alan.

A fun jog up and over the tables under the pavilion to the field for warm up consisting of: Good Mornings, SSH, arm stretching, arm circles and chinooks.

 

The Workout

Run to the rock pile through and over the playground (including going down the slide) and grab a rock

Rock toss through the sand volleyball court

John Cusack to baseball field for some Jack Webs

Curls for the girls and overhead extensions while walking to next sand volleyball court for more rock tosses

Barely Curling up the parking lot with Crab Walk Rock Kicks back down

Warm Up:

Run around the tennis courts and soccer field.
Stop at the bottom of the ramp – Side Straddle Hops
Stop at the ticket office – Frankenstein Kicks and Good Mornings
Stop at the corner – Bat Wing (10 Fazio Forward, 10 Fazio Backwards, 10 Seal claps and 10 overhead claps
Run to the Tunnel

The Workout:

Split up into two groups.

Group 1 did an indian run down the long path.  When they reached the end they did 5 Burpees.
Group 2 did 5 Burpees, 10 Merkins, 15 Squats, 20 LBCs, 10 Cadence Count Balls to the wall and Preacher chair until group 1 came back.

The groups then switched.
Repeated 5 times

Mosey to the bottom of the ramp for something that was way too complicated, but we had 3 minutes to burn.

Run up four light poles.  Turn and run backwards up two light poles.  Don’t turn around and run forward two light poles.  Then turn around and repeat till you reached the top of the hill.  Then mosey back to the circle for Mary.
