Racing the Rain

Warm Up: In the front lot: SSH, Daisy Pickers, Frankenstein, Hip circles (gotta limber up those hips!), Windmills.

The Workout:

10 merkins then movement approximately 50 meters for 10 lcbs repeat until all movements complete.

Movements: A Skips, B Skips, Karaoke, Karaoke, Side Skips, Side Skips, High Knees, Butt Kicks

Mosey to the back parking lot.

Runner stretches before next round.

10 squats then movement approximately 50 meters for 10 big boy sit-ups repeat until all movements complete.

Main event: 1 mile of laps: 400 meter run, 10 hurpees, 100m jog, 300m run, 10 hurpees, 200 m jog, 200m run, 10 hurpees, 300m jog, 100m run, 10 hurpees

The rain started to join the PAX, perfect time for trying to run faster than falling water.

5 x Accelerators. 60 meters on the track, 3 sets of cones. 1st Cone to 2nd Cone, 50% effort (head down to gather speed), 2nd cone to 3rd cone 70% effort (head up, looking at next cone), final cone to finish line – 90% effort (strong form, pump those arms!)

Warm Up: EC was our warm up then right to the Workout, because I had a lot planned and only 45 minutes to execute!
The Workout: Went with a Kung Fu Panda theme and decided to do workouts inspired by the 5 main styles in the movie and finish with a customized exercise made for this AO.

  • Fozzy arm circles forward then reverse, seal claps, overhead claps, overhead claps, seal claps, arm circles reverse then forward with no breaks

  • Bear crawl clockwise in a big circle; 1st pax calls out a number and then on his “up” everyone jumps up and throws that many wing chun strike combos in cadence; then Back to bear crawling the circle and repeat with the next pax until all pax have gone and are sufficiently smoked

Descending ladder on the track:

1600m, at the finish line for each lap 10 merkins, 10 LBCs, 10 squats (turned out to be 1 min 53 seconds or faster per lap)

1000m, at the finish line for each lap, 10 burpees (1 min 42 seconds or faster per lap)

800m, at the finish line did A walks/Karokes/A skips/Karokes/B skips/Karokes/Lunge jumps (1 min 35 seconds or faster per lap)

Warm Up:  Shredder kicked it off with lots of arm. OH Claps, Seal Claps, Sir Fazio Arm Circles, Moroccans Night Clubs, SSH, IW, HB, Frankensteins, & HB Frankensteins.

The Workout: Dovetail picked up the Q with a rotation of goodies. One pax set the pace by sprinting down around the island. 3 set. All hurt!

YHC picked back up with various sets of striking (lots of striking), kicks, dips, erkins, and combos

Mary: Pax choice as we went around the circle with LBCs, V-ups, box cutters, etc.

Announcements: Rune-Sign up. Adopt-a-highway clean-up on Sunday.

The Workout:

120 meters of cones set every 20 meters

Performed 5 merkins at each cones, with A Skips between, followed by SSH with B skips, then alternate butt kicks and high knees, then karaoke and side running twice

Escaped the incoming rain with: Failure to launch 10x, leg swings and claws (2 x 10)

Accelerators in the rain between cones, first 50% to 80% effort, then 60% to 90% effort, then 70% to 100%

Failure to launch 5x, leg swings and claws (2 x 10) (In honor of the delayed SpaceX launch from yesterday)

Welcome Back Humidity!

19 PAX took on the humidity and welcomed the sweat back to U-turn. Lots of EC going on as we started with about 10 guys it felt like and finished with 19.

The Workout:
5 mile new school route. Pick up the six happened more than twice but we were safe.

RUNE sign up is out. Cut off is Friday May 29th.Dad’s camp sign up for August. Memorial Day all AO’s will be open and there will be a murph happening for those that want to join at Womble. Details on Slack/FB.

Katniss co-worker, Cupid’s grandma in Hospice, Aquaman mentioned how God will bring good out of all this pandemic we are experiencing.

Tiger Claw

Warm Up: Jogging a little more than usual. SSH, Frankenstein, Hill Billies, Imperial Walkers, Goofballs, Good morning, Daisy pickers
The Workout: Mosey to a quiet place of lamp posts behind the elementary school and did 11s between two posts. Merkins and LCBs with A Skips between the two. Visited the track for 800 meters of moderate running. Grabbed some fence for claws and squats. Finished main event with 6 strides for 50 meters.

Today we Run…Maybe?

YHC had grand plans for a tour of the Downtown Holly Springs area, including 7’s on Cemetery Hill. But Pax with some nagging injuries/cramping forced some modification. I think everyone got their money’s worth though.

EC: Coal Ash

Warm Up: Standard lap, 5 burpees OYO

The Workout: YHC limited warm-up in an attempt to get through everything that was planned for the morning, which was a tour of Downtown. After quick warm-up we were off. While heading to our first stop, a truck comes pulling into the parking lot. Our good pal Nemo decided to join us. First stop was the library. Pax honored Nemo’s tardiness with 5 burpees and then headed off to the next stop, the pool. Circled up at the pool for jack webs (1:3 x 7). Moved through exercise quickly and told Pax next stop, the Cemetery. We head up Library Hill and we start to slow down a little. Had one Pax struggling with cramps, the other with a sore calf. Releasing we weren’t going to get through the workout as planned, YHC decided to modify to a location a little closer, the parking garage.

At this point we lost Moped due to cramping, but we carried on. In the parking garage we did the following exercies:

Boulders, Breakfasts, and Banana Seats

After running the “old school” U-Turn loop this am, YHC decided to take the Q at Ground Pounder with a real focus on “muscle moves” and rep counts.  11 pax showed up for a lot of rock work and an impromptu photo shoot by Banana Seat.  When asked if he was joining the workout, he responded he was only a spectator this morning, and this guy just stood there eating his breakfast….but got some great photos of the workout.  There’s gotta be a name for this type of behavior in the lexicon. Either way, we all did 5 burpees in honor of our breakfast eating photographer/spectator’s arrival and departure in his “sweet” new ride.

The Workout: Merkin ladder up of 10,15,20, and 25 counts with 13 SSH in between each set.

Rock Time

Descending ladders of rock exercise combos. Counts were 20,15,10.  Curls for the Girls/Ground Pounders. Then Triceps Extensions/Squats. Then Shoulder Press/Rut Rows.  Each combo was followed by a break where we did 20,15,10 reps of chest presses and an ab exercise with rock. Finished this portion of the workout w/ 20 count IC of Bus Drivers. Every driver drives in his own way!!!

Bear Crawl across lot with 10 merkins, return trip with lunge walk followed by 10 squats. Repeato with two rounds of “penalty exercises” for pax doing rock exchanges during the workout.

To the Wall for 2 rounds of BTTW with each pax doing 5 count and 1 round of People’s Chair with each pax doing a 10 count.
Mary: each pax took a turn calling a 10 count exercise including: diamond merkins, nipplers, Shoulder Taps, spider man merkins, Pickle pounders, WW2, plank holds, burpees, squat jumps.
Announcements: Many AOs open. Looking at possible Fleming Loop site soon. Mr. Terrific taking the lead at Tiger Blood with a speed and form focus.
