Leg Day at Disney

Warm Up:Ā  SSH, Frankenstein, Hillbilly/and or Imperial Walkers, I dunno…Willy Mays Hays, standing quad stretch

The Workout:Ā 

This worked out really well, time-wise.Ā  Beat the legs down with two leg sets, then a recovery mosey around the parking lot w/merkins, repeat-o.Ā  These may have F3 names, but whatever:

  • Bulgarian split squats on the half wall, 24 reps each side
  • Calf raise squats, 25

  • People’s Chair, 90 seconds

Smokey Morning Laps Around The āš½ļø Fields

Blue Suede :bluesuede: and I showed up right on time @ 05:30 and there was only one car in the the parking lot @Disney.

Seems to be a new AO spinning up on Fridays’ but we didn’t let that keep Bondo and I from winning the day with a solid sweat equity session.

It was a bit smokey in the sky due to some forest fires going on in Quebec šŸ‡ØšŸ‡¦. Prayers for those impacted šŸ™

The Workout:

Moseyed to the new retaining wall at the entrance to Middle Creek High and grabbed smedium 🪨’s (10 – 15 .lbs). We then moseyed up the hill behind the soccer fields and knocked out 3 exercise (uneven pushups | alternating squats | curls for the gurls) after that we took a lap around the soccer fields. I think we got about 4 rounds in. We were drenched that is for sure! Blue Suede was covered in water from the grass so I know he had a blast.

Field Trip to West Lake Middle

Got to Disney a couple min before 05:30. The Fellas were warming up and finishing up their EC’s. I brought my pup Sullivan previously known as PoopEater 2.0 joined the warm up circle and we kicked things off.

3 HIM decided to make their way to Disney on a wet and warm morning in the gloom. YHC had two plans of which both should equally suck. A shelter workout if it was pouring or a trip to the stairs aka The Abyss in the drizzle. We all agreed this was a terrible workout so my vote is for it to be retired. One and Done. Here it is.

We ripped the bandaid right off taking a lap around the track and hitting multiple large puddles.

We each grabbed a cinderblock from the secret hideout. Then moseyed over to the Abyss. YHC called out the exercises.
100 Abyss merkins using the blocks
100 ground pounders with blocks
100 rut rows with blocks
Break these reps up into 5-6 rounds.
Staggered going down and up the stairs.
1st trip – bear crawl down and run back up
2nd – run down bear crawl up
3rd – run down bunny hop up
4th – run down hit every step both feet up
5th – OYO
6th – OYO
Great support to finish all the reps as we were completely smoked on the last round.

Mosey back to return blocks.

Mushy Ground, Dark Stairs, Hard Blocks, Good Dog!

YHC on back to back Comeback Q’s took to the famous grounds of Disney with 8 other good dudes and a precious pup (Poopeater 2.0). Figured I’d try something different over on the half pipe…I’d say 75% effective, the gound was very muddy, mushy, and soft. We’ll keep working on it.

EC: The one and only Nemo!

FNGs: Welcome Komatsu! (works for Caterpillar and we already got John Deere and Kubota))

Warm Up: Good Mornings, Sir Fazio’s, Moroccan Night Club, Imperial Walkers, Hillbillies, Frankenstein.

The Workout: Short mosy over to the half pipe hills for a sideways up and down merkin side crawl (crawl sideways, with each movement ends in a merkin). Again, ground mushy…mixed results.

Blocks: 25 Tricep Press, 25 Curls for the Girls. We started making out way to the Abyss, blocks in hand. We traveled about 50 meters of each (Cusack, Murder Bunny Hops, Grave Digger Walks, Regular). We needed 2 rounds of this to get to the Abyss.

Abyss: 1 trip up and down. At the top, 50 Chest Presses. 2 Trips up and down. At the top, 25 triceps/25 Curls for the Girls. 3 trips up and down. At the top, 25 Rut Rows, 25 LBD’s (Little Baby Dips), 25 Shoulder Press.

Travel Back: We once again traveled back to the beginning with various intervals of Cusack, Murder Bunny Hops, Grave Digger Walks, and Regular.

It certainly has impacted me tremendously as I’ve been slow to return from a long IR. There are guys who deal with mental health stuff and find themselves in ruts, let’s help each other out of those ruts. You can do more than you think. Great time to bring this up with an FNG today! We are more than a workout. We are a fellowship and friendship…and we also embrace the suck and push each other!
