Shared pain through accountability

FNGs: Nope
Warm Up: Mosey to bottom of parking lot towards the stop sign. Placed cone for ME reference. SSH, Good mornings, Daisy Pickers, Mosey to right hand side of parking lot with grass hill. Cone #2 explained Frisbee bear crawl station.  Imperial Walkers, Hillbillies I/C.  Mosey to RR and Cone# 3 with battle rope. Explained station while in Squat hold. We grabbed the rest of the coupons and moseyed to the abyss. (2 – 25lbs DB’s, 1- 30 lbs ruck weight, 1-20 lbs phalange, 1 BAT Big Ass tire, and one little tractor tire)

The Workout: Paired off with accountability partner. Cone #1 Frisbee Bear Crawl up the hill and back down, head first both directions and hands stay in frisbees. Partner does whatever exercise they want while waiting. Cone# 2. Battle rope > Double hand OH Smash, Single alternating waves, SSH with rope. (PAX on own cadence) my group 30, 20, 10 reps. Cone #4 DB swings at the abyss, Cone #5 Weighted abs Cone#6&7 > BAT gets flipped up ALL the abyss stairs partner rotate in as needed. Little tractor tire gets pulled up to top of stairs by a strap, partner rotate in as needed. Once you leave the tire station the PAX run to Cone #1 and loop back to Cone #2 and then the stations rotate. We made one complete cycle.

QSWAP DAY 5: UTI ….. FOREVER MORE….

A pre-blast was sent to Carpex and South Wake looking for support for the to-be Q at Dazed and Confused.  With the numbers that these two regions have the potential to bring, YHC thought this was an appropriate time to swallow his pride and make the request for a name change.  I know… I know… I’m Good Enough, I’m Smart Enough, and Doggone It, People Like Me!  But if there was ever a time to get the votes I needed, it would be today.  And hey, I’ve heard some of the mumblechatter about South Wake naming.  Peeping Tom’s name got shortened to PT when he moved to Carpex – Carpex will be sympathetic to my plight…. right?

1000 HCs were requested, the votes came in…

  • 2 “Peeing” emoji – inappropriate!!!  EXACTLY THE SORT OF THING I’M TRYING TO GET AWAY FROM!!!  Calm…  Calm…

SouthWake

  • 8-ish HCs
  • A whole bunch of protests –  “We Love You UTI… Never change..” stuff like that
  • A threat that I would be “Getting an English Ripping” – Australians… Am I right?

***I had no intention of changing my name.  Do we even have 1000 PAX between our 2 regions?  If 1000 had HC’d or shown up I might have had to change my name… I mean that would be some vote!  This exercise was for fun and a mockery of those posts you often see out on the social medias.  I scouted the FB pages of some of my elderly relatives for research and treaded lightly around the ones that focus on serious illnesses.  This was my inspiration 😀

The Workout:

Thang 1

Count off 1,2,3

  • Group 1 Top of the Deck, Star Jumps until relieved
  • Group 2 Stairs, run to the top to relieve Group 1
  • Group 3 Bottom of the Deck, WWIIs until relieved

Groups 1, 2, and 3 cycled through this rotation until all 3 groups completed 10 climbs up the stairs

*Flaw in the structure of this, should have created groups of 3 and had them split up into 3 stations, continuing the rotation as a team of 3.  T-claps to Shut-In and other PAX that started calling out group numbers as they got to their new stations to help keep everyone moving.  Lesson learned for next time 😀

Thang 2

All PAX to the top of the parking deck, line up on the half wall

Bear Crawl the long way down the lot stopping at each light pole for 5 Merkins OYO

T-Claps to Theismann for calling out Chill Cut moves (and not Have A Nice Day) while we brought in the 6.  Lucky Charms and Pikachu – you guys are fast on those Bear Crawls!!!

Return to the other side of the lot – this time Lunge Walks, 10 LBCs at each light pole.

Thang 3

Mozy to the opposite stair case and descend.  People’s Chair while we wait for the 6.

South Wake Invades Dante’s Peak

QSwap 2019 – YHC & Skidmark had the Q at Dante’s Peak. Loads of EC in play – Crazy Time, Pull up routine, EC miles.

The pax poured in and included an FNG brought out by Banana Seat. Disclaimers were read and we were off.

Warm Up:

Mosey to upper parking lot, performing karaoke, butt kickers, backwards run, and skips along the way.

Circle up for:

SSH x15 IC

Mountain climbers x10 IC

Standard Merkin x5 on Q’s up and down

Windmill x10 IC

The Workout:

Pax lined up shoulder to shoulder facing back  the direction we came from. Dropping down into plank, on Q’s GO they sprint back to start/where we circled up.

Repeato back and forth, each sprint on Q’s GO with the following exercises (always held before the next GO):

  • Squats x15 IC
  • Low Slow Flutter x10 IC
  • Pickle Pounders x10 IC
  • Plank hold
  • Squat hold

Last sprint was down and back once YHC had used most of his allotted time. Pax circled up for Freddy Mercury x10 IC for one last break and then the reins were handed over to Skidmark.

QSwap continues to be one of YHC’s favorite weeks of the year. A huge thank you to all of the Carpex & South Wake Pax that helped make this happen, from Qing workouts to making long drives and clown cars to support Qs. We’ll certainly do it again next year!

Breach on the Q

Warm up– Jog around the smaller soccer field and circle up. 22 counts of Hillbillies, Good mornings, Squatting Imperial Walkers and Merkins.

Main Event: Mosey over to the rock pile and choose your rock for around the world. 22 counts of curls for the girls, Overhead Press triceps extensions, traveling and traveling Merkins . Return rocks to the pile mosey over to parking lot.

Fast feet on the curbs down and traveling planks back, fast feet up and run over to the school.

Split into 2 groups perform a run back and forth down the back of the school parking lot, if we didn’t complete in under 60 secs we would of repeated the feat.

Stay in the 2 groups and use the parking spaces to bear crawl and crawl bear up and down the parking lines, Side plank travel between the lines and when you reach the end of the line do a Merkin. Circle up for 22 cadence count SSH

Run back to Davis drive park. Racing Indian runs, last man is trying to beat his counter part from the other line.

Mary: Mosey back to the original parking lot for Mary, Bring sally up squat holds. Finish with 22 cadence counts of LBC’s and Low Slow Flutter.

Prayers: for a co-worker of a pax member had a stroke on Friday, pray for a speedy recovery and prayers for Crablegs.
