Trunk twists, windmills, jump steps, then add in 2 jump steps plus knee strike.

Plank out, back in, stand up, kick

The Workout:

3 rounds, each round has sets of 30-20-10 reps with decreasing length runs (something like 400-300-200m) each set. For the sets of 30 and 20, break it into sets of 10. So for example: longest run, then 30 of each (broken into sets of 10, but no rest in between), then medium run, then 20 of each, then shortest run, then 10 of each.

1st time BackBlasting, 2nd time Q’ing.  Yogurt was begging for a game of Ultimate earlier in the week, but he and the rest of the team didn’t show.  Probably too dark this time of the year anyway.  The 4 of us hit it hard at the track and stayed out of the wet grass.  We’ll be feeling it tomorrow morning…

Blimp: 5 burpees, 10 lunge each leg, 15 imperial walker, 20 merkins, 25 plank jacks, 30 squats

PEAK 8 on the track: 30 second sprint as fast as you possibly can, recover for 90 seconds (or just puke, whatever feels better), repeat 8 times

Another blimp: 5 burpees, 10 lunge each leg, 15 imperial walker, 20 merkins, 25 plank jacks, 30 squats

Warm Up: Lap around the track, 11 SSH, 11 Imperial Walkers, 11 Hill Billies, 11 Good Mornings, 11 SFAC, 11 Annies.
The Workout: Moseyed over to the rock pile for medium size rock.  We had 5 sets of 11s planned out but quickly found out that 11s with burpees takes awhile to get through.  First set, 11s with tricep extension/burpees, running across parking lot between each action.  Second set, 11s with Curls/Merkins, again running across parking lot between each action. Returned rocks, and a quick lap around the parking lot for good measure.
Mary: 11 LBC, 11 American Hammers, 11 Heal Taps, 11 Sweat Angels, 11 Homer to Marge, 11 count for Have a Nice Day.

No Beauties but there was a Beast at Disney

Day 4 of You vs. You was at Disney, the greatest place on turf and the best ride in all of Southwake. YHC had the park open early arriving at 0450 to set up a couple ladders on the turf and plant the flag. After yesterdays hiccup, YHC was up early with no alarm and ready to work. We had a strong showing for EC again. There was an FNG so the disclaimer was given. A cotter showed up somewhere during the warm up and we could not remember his name, anyway welcome back Tussin. Skins for the Q today so enjoy the nips show.

Quick shout out to Messi for being at every AO this week at 0500 with his dad. He’s riding his bike for EC but he’s still there. I know a lot of you couldn’t even do that so hat’s off to this kid.

Down steps and back up with hops
Two lines at top squat hold until the the guy in front gets to platform
Bear crawl down with 5 merkins at each platform
At bottom hold squat until the six is in
Crawl bear up as far as you can go then modify to hops back up when needed
– Popinski went full beast mode wearing Breath Taker and completed the whole Abyss
Return to bottom and partner up size matters
Partner carry to half way then switch
Plank for the six

Mosey back to for the greatest show on turf
Line up on side lines
Skips across and lunges back
Slides across switching half way and carioca back with switch half way
Lie on belly and sprint at 75% speed on Q’s GO
– Some PAX don’t know how to dial it down and basically went full speed each round
Repeat back at 5K speed
Repeat back at Full speed
Repeat back at Usain Bolt speed
PAX was nice and winded so we circled up

New Town, New Group, First Q

Last time First time

So I saw the Q spot was opened for To Be Determined late wendesday, so I decided I would make that my first Q in South Wake.  It started off grand, I woke up 8 mins late, apparently, the alarm was going off for 8 mins before I heard it and it did not wake the M (luckily).   Made it to womble with about 5 mins to spare.

With no FNG’s we mosey over to the other parking lot for warm-ups.

Was a little gasses, so got a quick 10 count from Doc and seeing we hade more time mosey’d over to the shelter

  • Thang 3: 15 Erkins, 10 Left/right step-ups, 15 Dips Repeato 3x

NMS:  As always it was a pleasure to led the Pax today. I encourage anyone who has not Q’d before to do it. I told the Pax at this workout that my 4th ever Q was when I went out to F3 Denver as part of the planting mission and lead a workout. I will be grabbing more Q’s as I get more familiar with the area, it keeps me sharp and engaged. I always remember that F3 says if you can’t Q it don’t do it. So if you are not a long runner like me, don’t do a long run, do what you are good at.  We covered 2 miles today betweens dora’s 11’s and mosey’ing in between locations. The pax will always help and be willing, that is what makes F3 great, as well as the mumble chatter and good-natured ribbing.

Better Late than Never – UvU3

UvU Day 3. Evidently my body was feeling it today. YHC had a difficult morning getting things going. Alarm was set for 0430. Slept right through it. 0523 on the phone and I had to do a double take. I shot out of bed shaking about what to do. Missed EC already. Barely got my contacts in and forgot to drain the main vain. Shot out the door and text Emeril asking him to do warm ups until I arrived. Pulled up to the first stop sign and an elderly person in a Cadillac pulled out first, ah great just my luck. However, this person had a lead foot I appreciated. Both of us hauling tail down Angier Rd. YHC arrived 0536 as warm ups were wrapping up. Took a second to release my liquid before running over to the plethora of HIM all ready to get started. I apologized to the group and did my 5 burpees OYO. Then we blasted off due to my adrenaline rush still on high.

Starting at home plate fence – Hand release merkins in the dirt
Run to center field – Morning Wood (Turkish Get Up) in dew soaked grass
It’s kind of like a Sugar Cookie but not as bad.

Mosey over to tennis courts
Line up on fence directly across from entrance gate for Crabs in a Bucket (but with bear crawls bc Q gave bad instructions)
PAX split in half and went in opposite directions until we reached back at the entrance gate

Next we did 1-legged burpees OYO x5 each leg

Partner up
Broken Wheelbarrow (one leg free) from fence to nets. Switch partners and come back.
Bull Frogs on IR (never been done, one legged) from fence to nets. Switch and return.

I know it’s probably no big deal to the PAX but I was truly embarrassed about being late today. My body shut down from hearing my alarm which typically I don’t even have to use one. Great job to all you guys for the hard work today. Hopefully, no more malfunctions this week.

Under New Management

There was a change in management at R4TJ this week and YHC broke out the shovel flag for my VQ. Mookie and I got together for a 2nd F after Any Given Sunday and discussed the shovel design. We agreed the shovel should be gold (in honor of a recently posted gold plated toilet meme) and Mookie suggested we add a roll of toilet paper to the flag as well. Now all HIM will be able to take what they need before we depart on our 5 mile run, in the event that nature calls.

Although sad to see UTI/Lipstick go, they assured me they will be back frequently to visit. They set the standard high at R4TJ and I will try to maintain that standard moving forward.

YHC arrived at 5:04 to see 3 PAX heading out for EC. I planted the flag, grabbed my vest and headed out to run solo. I almost made it to Main Street when out of the darkness come Pikachu! I did my best to try to keep him within eyesight and he came back several times to pick up my 6.

The Workout: Black Snake run behind Harris Teeter to the Goodwill Lot. Partner up for Millennial workout (YHC was odd man out). Partner 1 did exercises and partner 2 ran to the bottom of the hill on Lassiter Street and back up to switch places, rinse and repeat. Goal was a total count of 2000 (1000 from the exercises and the other 1000 from running).
