Ground Pounder 2/15/2025

FNGs: None

Warm Up: Always start with some good mornings and stretching exercises to keep this Respectful bunch loose so we don’t pull something. 

The Workout: Rock exercises, wall exercises, disc golf exercises and finished with some picnic table dirkins, merkins and irkins.

Mary: Round the circle with your core exercise of choice. 

Announcements: Socrates will step up and be the co-Q for Ground Pounder!  Many thanks for Pumpkin Spice for co-Q’ing Ground Pounder for the last 1-2 years!

Warm Up: Led by Socrates! Plenty of stretching and mumblechatter.

The Workout: Led by Norm!  Team work with multiple rock reps with the other member moseying to the bleachers to perform another exercise.

AARP in action

No FNGs

11 PAX got sweaty at AARP, a.k.a. Thunder. Great “Respect” turnout.  Lots of dumbbell and kettlebell exercises.  Yoga for COT.  Exercise included curls for the girls, triceps, rut rows, bus drivers, squats, swings, farmer’s Cary, figure 8s, thrusters, halos, lawn mowers, people chair, B2Wall

Prayers:  Enron’s dad, Injured PAX, Ill family members, UNSPOKEN.  Lots of positive news shared too!

Dauber took us out.  Honored to lead.

Crushing It with Rocks

5 PAX worked their summer beach bods with some rocks. We each called an exercise to put in 5 sets around-the-horn:

  1. Biceps
  2. Shoulders
  3. Quads
  4. Triceps
  5. Back
  6. All the Rest

FNGs: None Warm Up: Why?

 The Workout: run in place followed by 3 count pushups and Spiderman’s in cadence x10. 

Ab work.

Squats n stuff with some stretching worked in the bring heart rates down.

Rince and repeat x3.

Ended with lower body stretches.

Lots of sets with a big rock and two little rocks for a great workout of our arms, shoulders, back, and legs. Great work PAX!

Luckily, cloud cover brought some wind at the same time we started the workout.

The Workout:

Jog to rock pule:

4 sets of five exercises:  8 increasing to 25 reps

Ultimate @ Thunder – 17Jun20

Warm Up:

Mosey over to the pit. Circle up for SSH x10 IC, Daisy Pickers x10 IC, Frankenstein’s x10 IC.

The Workout:

Split into teams for Ultimate frisbee. First ¼ of the game 3x Merkins per drop, second ¼ 1x burpee, third ¼ 1x Turkish getup, fourth ¼ no exercise penalty.

Mary:

Mulching at Bass Lake starts this Saturday and continues each Saturday until we finish.

40’s?

YHCs first Q at Cletus. Excellent work from 14 PAX for a promised, leg heavy workout.

Warm Up: Lap around soccer fields, 5 Burpees OYO, SSH x 20 (in cadence), 20 Plank Jacks OYO, Hamstring stretch 10 count x 2, 10 merkins, 20 fazio arm circles forward > backward > forward > backward, 8 burpees OYO

The Workout: Mosey to amphitheater for the workout. Started with 40s. Same concept as 7s and 11s except you count up or down by 5s. Exercises were step-ups and squats. Started with 5 step ups (each leg) at amphitheater, ran to top of hill for 35 squats, continued until 40s were complete.

Then we split into two groups and rotated between peoples chair (10 count by each group member) and AMRAP of dips, irkins, and derkins.

Mary: Mosey back to tennis courts for mary.
