Warm Up: Light jog around the parking lot, bear crawls, Side Strattle Hop, Good Monings, Imperial Walker & Hillbillies (engage the core), Std. Merkins,
The Workout: Step ups, Dips, Step ups with knee lifts, Dips with keg lifts.  Wing Chun striking, Wedging, Squats, Diamond Merkins, Squats with a kick, Resistance and sensitivity training, and a secret lesson from Bruce Lee.
Mary: jog back to the front and a lot of Low Slow Flutter.

The Workout:

Since some of us were sore from the 5 year anniversary beatdown we decided to get all our Merkins out of the way.

Mosey to the nearby hill (directly next to running track) for clockwork Merkins, starting with 12 o’clock pointing towards the track.

12x at 12 o’clock, and then proceeding accordingly clockwise all the way around – 78 merkins

Mosey to playground – ab work to let the heart rate recover:

To counterbalance all that chest we needed some back, so to the monkey bars we went. 3 pax hold chill cut plank, other 3 each do 10x Pull Ups. Each group went once, then went again with 5x Pull Ups.

Mosey to the rock pile where pax were instructed to get a “medium, non-traveling rock to share”

Circled up for various rock exercises rotating rocks throughout:

7x Deadlifts, 14x cleans, 21x overhead press, 14x putting it all together for the ground pounder

Curls – 7x bottom half range of motion, 7x top half, 14x full range

Tri-ceps – 7x bottom half, 7x top half, 14x full range

Return the rocks and mosey to the metal bars along the walkway near the baseball fields

All pax on bars for upright bodyweight rows – x10

Switch to grass for 10x squats

Repeat rows x10, prisoner squats x10, rows x5, lunges x5 each leg

Mosey back to tennis courts for Mary

Mary:

Mary around the horn – 15 count each (except for the Burpees called by our FNG Urban, only 8x of those. Maybe that’s why the Big Blue fan got that name).

Thought of the day: the existence of God is often questioned because of the existence of evil, but if everything was always perfect for us, we would be like spoiled children who could never help anyone else. Therefore rather than having a pity party or asking only that tough things be removed, ask what can be learned, ask God to mold you, so that we can be an encouragement to others. Perfect is promised later, perseverance is needed today.

The Workout:

  • 3 sets; merkins then front kick to squat combo
  • Evasive kicks
  • Two pax practiced pressure point manipulation with an improvised weapon (a kubotan) while the third pax ran through various exercises.

Sheepdog – hunka hunka burn’in love

Pax oef 5 this morning for some muscle burn’in love: Dovetail, Breadsticks, Gump, Yogurt, and Shredder.

Warm Up:

  • Lap around the parking lot.
  • Fazio arm circles
  • Chinooks
  • Good mornings

The Workout:

  • Slow TuT dips
  • 10 Mt. Climbers & 5 wobbly pull-up (5 sets).
  • Ring of fire; Set 1, one pax does 10 merkins while remaining do Wing Chun strikes, rotate pax till 100 merkins. Set 2, one pax does 10 knee strikes while pax continues WC strikes and then elbow strikes, rotate till 200. Set 3, one pax does squats while other pax do elbow strikes then 3 WC strike combo, then 5 strike WC combo. Quick note… it can always get worse…

Thought:  It can always be worse. No matter how hard something may seem it can always get worse and we are a lot more resilient than we realize.  The Navy Seals have a saying. “Earn your Trident  everyday.”   We should have a similar saying about our spiritual walk, “earn your cross every day.

It may be someone with a mental illness or could be a close family friend who’s child is on drugs. Our goal is not to do his most damage as possible but to put people in compliance so they cannot do harm to others or themselves. We have to be ready for that as well.

Warm-up

Mosey to the soccer fields for warmup. SSH, FO arm circles, cotton pickers, imperial walkers, hillbillies. Partner up based on overall ability. Split partners into 2 teams to get evenly matched teams.

Main workout

Each team did a count off to get a number assigned to the pax, and had to perform 20 exercises 1 pax at a time. The pax would bear crawl 10 yards, then sprint to the other end of the soccer field, do the exercise associated with their number (or multiple of that number), then sprint back. Then the next pax would go. The remaining pax would do either 10 merkins, 10 ww2, 10 lsf in cadence, or 5 burpees and then do a squat hold until the pax doing the exercise returned. The 20 exercises were plank jacks, American hammer IC, diamond merkins, monkey humpers IC, Homer to Marge IC, burpees, Turkish get ups, LBC IC, left arm plank hold IC, right arm plank hold IC, star jacks, Carolina dry dock, pickle pounder IC, chilly jacks, Freddie Mercury IC, jump squats, wide arm merkins, Peter Parker IC, deep squats, box cutters. Each was a set of 5. When the team finished all 20 exercises, they ran to the other end of the soccer fields at Womble, and then did a 1 loop Indian Run back to the flags.

We then did an extended Mary with each Pax contributing 2 exercises for a 5 count each.
